we begin with breaking news in delaware county. medics response to a high school. after people inside were exposed to some type of substance sfwl lye over the school. where you see people gathers in the parking lot. ambulances are on the scene. no word on exact will what the substance is. we're working the phones and will bring you more information. >> also tonight. when two storms collide. nbc10 issued a first alert. people heading to sunday's eagle game could be in for a wet and windy mess. >> good evening. those storms could bring dangerous lightning. let's get to tammie souza. this could change a lot of peoples lives and plans over the

weekend. >> saturday is not the day to watch. ss sunday. we have a first alert issued for sunday. throughout the cay day and into the night. for the entire area. we'll be affected by this. the heaviest rain maybe north and west of the city. strongest winds along the jersey shore. those are the places that we'll watch closely. we'll see heavy rain possibly thunderstorms the thunderstorms would cause delays during the eagles game. strong winds could be gusting up to 50 miles per hour. local flooding especially with the leaves falling blocking drains. that's something to be careful of. when you're driving on the roadway they'll make for extra slippery roadways. 9:00 in the morning already heavy rain is over head. this is the front out of the midwest. here's the tropical storm. right next to each other up the coast. we could get a few breaks. earlier today lots of rain over

station. someone shot at the home last night. his neighbors relieved he's finally in custody. >> that's what i keep saying. it almost seems scarier there's kids going around -- kids with guns. >> nbc10 learned detectives are looking into miz socihis social accounts for any information. >> two bus crashes in new jersey sent several people to the hospital. sky force 10 in burling ton county tonight after a new jersey transit bus crashed into a pole. wires came down on top of that bus. at point ville road. two people went to the hospital with bumps and bruises. another scare near the front entrance of 6 flags great adventure. a bus crashed into a tree. this afternoon. 17 people on the bus were hurt. also tonight a life lost. doing a good deed. >> a gad samaritan hit by a car

trying to help another driver on the side of the road. the crash happened this morning. he was trying to push a broken down car off the road with he was hit. his ex-wife tells us he liked to help people in need. >> always. since we were married. i used to fight with him for stopping all the time for people. i guess that was his mission in life. help others, always. >> the driver hasn't been charged. prosecutors are not backing down in their case against members of the a pen state fraternity. today they refiled manslaughter and assault charges in the death of. prosecutors claim he was the victim of deadly hazing. back in february. a judge had dropped the more serious charges. his family is praising the decision to refile. new jersey is warning consumers and stores about a change to the states smoking

law. starting on wednesday you must be 21 years old to buy tobacco products and e cigarettes. by raising the age young people will be less likely to start using or get addicted. >> shining new light on its streets. more than 5,600 street lights will be replaced with led bulbs. saving energy as well as money. the project was paid for by a grant. no parking and no driving. that's the rule tomorrow during philly free streets. seven mile round trip from old city. closed from 8 to 1 tomorrow. to get more people walking on the streets. wilmington is kicking off an event tomorrow. several roads will be blocked off every sad saturday morning through november. a father says one of his neighbors isn't in the holiday spirit. but that's not ruining his halloween. the family has a tradition

outside the home. they put up a halloween display for the last decade. a neighbor complained calling that display a safety hazard. >> for a good cause. the kids enjoy it. and it gets the families together and never had any problems here. >> the township told us it's up to kirk wood if he wants to take it down. he says this year he wants to make his display even bigger and better. early halloween in south jersey tonight. the river side police department turned into a haunted house for the day. kids and adults got a chance to trick or treat. and show off costumes a few days early. and get candy too. this is the third annual haunted walk through at the department. counsel members dressed up in costumes and decorated offices. 100 chrn from shelters and organizations had a chance to experience halloween inside city hall. they collected candy and all had big smiles on their faces.

keys during a fight. and took off in a white chevy. the next morning he was seen walking. >> right out there. >> reporter: seven miles away from the city. this is a quiet neighborhood. >> a friendly wave and asked if i had jumper cables. >> reporter: he was happy to help. but the next thing he knew a gun was in his face and told to get in the passenger seat of the car. neighbors were shocked. >> especially that time in the morning. any time here. just doesn't happen. >> reporter: he would be gone for two hours. traveling all over new castle county. >> i followed his directions and tried to be friendly. >> reporter: jackson was arrested several years ago for burglary. bird says jackson didn't seem like an angry criminal. he dropped him off near home. now he's hoping the car gets returned. >> i suppose he was the most friendly kind of person to hijack your car that you ever want to meet. >> do not go near this guy.

police say he's dangerous. if you see the maroon car, dial 911. we have more details on that car. 2012 model. delaware license plate of pc 422283. a follow up now to the heartwarming story between eagles quarterback. and a young boy from delaware. wentz formed a special bond with lucas who was battling stomach cancer. the ten year-old died in june. and wentz wears a bracelet in honor of lucas. the family also attended monday nights game against the redskins. his mother says they have sold more than 23,000 bracelets and raised more than $140,000 in that money goes to organizations that help families dealing with childhood cancer. there was plen it of purple tonight at the franklin institute. emceed the purple ball and event to support breakthrough in childhood cancer.

allen town. the doppler radar is clear. quiet tonight. quiet tomorrow. it's tomorrow night sunday things will ramp up. first of all we have a frontal system that's coming across the hah valley. ohio valley. moving north than east. there's a lot of potential for flooding and the northern end is pulling in very cold air. and snow through parts of minnesota and wisconsin. then we go to the caribbean. where this disturbance is strentening and probably when you walk wake up tomorrow morning we'll have a tropical storm. moving north ward. a merger like a perfect storm situation. by sunday the front could come together somewhere the moisture from the two along the east coast. bringing heavy rain to philadelphia. maybe some thunderstorms. and it's out of the here by monday. and very windy very chilly conditions move in. let's break it down.
