0ñ an investigation into the deadly church shooting. good morning to you. i'm erin coleman. he went in and shot hundreds of rounds of ammo. the motive seems to be tied to a running feud with his mother-in-law. she wasn't in the church when he killed 26 people. the air force admits it did not tell the fbi about his criminal history which would have prevented him from buying the

as for education, she is pushing for school choice so parents can opt to send their kids to charter schools and murphy wants to boost funding to community colleges. pamela osborne is live. voters that arrived at 7:00 a.m. found the place closed. >> reporter: yeah. they were the first ones to let us know there was a problem at this particular polling site this morning. it was open and ready for voters at 9:15. i went in and spoke with them. they say the person that was supposed to show up didn't show up at 7:00 so they came instead. they have the polling site opened up a little after 8:00 this morning. they oversee polling sites and monitoring issues that voters have. they weren't aware of any problems here. they note that election days are

most of the time. it feels like getting the book published is a big deal. it has been a blessing after blessing. >> what is it like to try to bring her week to life on the screen? >> it is daunting and terrifying because it's a great book and you don't want to do a bad job. i read the book after my son was born. having a son in the book was so beautiful i knew i had to do it. >> you have pretty big names. >> yes. julia roberts, owen wilson. >> yes. >> and the thing is when you have great characters it is much easier to get great actors. >> what was it like to work with all of them? >> it is a dream come true. i have been in the business a long time. everybody onset, all of the actors were all pinching ourselves saying we got to tell a special one this time. all of it was great.

picture of sky force 10 on the way. we are following this breaking news story. what can you tell us? >> we have been listening to emergency radio. it was one trooper we confirmed has been shot of the location we talked about in north hampton. it happened approximately 10:45 this morning. let's go to the audio we have been able to get for you. this is from emergency radio. take a listen. >> report of shots fired. route 33 southbound requesting and smart troopers, vehicles, there's an active shootout on the highway. >> we have been reaching out to many sources and contacts to try to get more information to bring it to you. what you just heard, that audio goes onto say that one trooper has been shot.

mother. >> my mother was already working but she was at the aircraft side. she was newly divorced and we were living and sleeping in a twin bed in the back of my aunt's beauty salon in south philly. i knew that i had to find a job because it would take two of us to afford an apartment together. i was fortunate my teachers talked me into taking a class of drafting in high school and i skipped three classes a day to take the course. the teacher was wonderful. the boys in the class were wonderful. they taught me the basics. mr. hall was his name. he sent a letter to the navy yard and gave me a paper to take with me. i went down to the navy yard and they actually hired a 17-year-old? just amazing and they put me through classes with many other women and put me to work in a

drafting department, mostly women. there were about seven other women at the time. it was just amazing. >> did you think at the time or did you know what you were doing was historic? >> no. it was something that we just had to be done. it simply had to be done. our men and boys were off at war. this was our way of trying to help end the war and bring them home safely. >> talk about why it is important to honor women like june who really made a difference in american history. >> so we aim to enhance the lives of our residence to help them pursue their passions, live with purpose. june pointed out to us she was a rosie during the war. >> talk about the event. >> we are having a luncheon for

we continue to follow breaking news shot during a traffic stop. by are live in the breaking news center. >> let's get to what we do know. one state trooper shot. there was a traffic stop this morning in north hampton county. it was on route 91 is what police were telling us. or route 191. they said also near route 33. we are sending sky force over the top of that area to give us more views of that at this moment. let's get to what else we know. the suspect we are told did drive himself to a near by hospital and that's where that

november 12th. we continue to keep you updated on that breaking news. a state trooper has been shot in the county there. sky force 10 is live over easton hospital where we are told the officer is being treated. we learned the shooting suspect is in custody. he drove himself to the hospital. we'll be bringing you updates as we get more and more information coming in on air and on the nbc 10 app. >> reporter: well, we have a little taste of winter out here today. you have the winter jacket on. you have to prepare for weather today. not only heavier coats but also the umbrellas.

it will definitely be raining this afternoon. we are at philadelphia mills here in northeast philly. we have a lot of give away stuff including rain slickers you might need for later on. we have people out here taking pictures and saying hello and asking questions and more of that coming up. we'll be here until 5:00 this afternoon. and then tomorrow we are heading to the premium outlets in new jersey. look at the temperatures across the area. it is in the 40s right now. it is really not going to be going up from here. it will probably be staying pretty close to it. even in delaware it is in the 40s. marshalton 47 and farther to the south barely 50. and yesterday we were in the 70s. 20 degrees colder plus rain coming in. more and more of it starting to

reach the ground in maryland and to the west. that blue stuff on the left of the screen. you haven't seen that in a while. that's snow in central pennsylvania. you could see flurries up here as we go through the day. you can see a couple of those near hazelton right now. it would be the first snow of the season. it's not a huge storm. we are clearing up west of cincinnati. it is coming in. temperatures going down. what a nasty evening it will be. you have to be prepared for this. we got spoiled yesterday with a temperature near 70. look at temperatures tomorrow morning, into the 30s. that is cold. and tomorrow afternoon

struggling to get to 50 as well. so we have some really chilly weather coming. as forecast for tomorrow across the area we are going to see more of barely 50 degrees. if there's any rain it would be very early in the day, that would be the story there. it is not quite as cold wednesday and thursday as what we are getting this afternoon. that is still way below average. we have been way above average for quite a while now. again, we have really spoiled at this and we'll be seeing more in the way of cold weather as we go towards the end of the week and the weekend. not only are we going to have highs in the 50s but we are going to have highs in the 40s friday and saturday.

we are keeping you updated. we have been following this for the last 40 minutes or so. a state trooper has been shot in stockerton. the shooting happened on route 191 during a traffic stop in plain field township. we are still trying to learn the condition of that trooper. we want to show you some video from sky force 10. it was just over easton hospital where the suspect -- actually

this is a live look now from sky force 10 of the shooting scene. there you can see what appears to be two state trooper vehicles and another vehicle there. a lot of officers there in the middle of the road. again, this is 191. as we pull out wider you can see two ambulances there on the scene. it looks like the road in both directions is shut down at this time. again, we are following this blaeking news. a pennsylvania state trooper shot. we are working to find out his condition. sky force 10 zooming in over here. here is a helicopter here landing in the middle of the road. we are told it all happened at about 10:45 this morning during a traffic stop in this area. we can see sky force 10 on the scene of this right now. a major situation we have been

following here for the past 45 minutes or so. officers on the scene, that entire area really roped off at this point as officers and investigators now try to figure out what lead up to this. here is what we know. we do know there was a traffic stop around 10:45 this morning. during that traffic stop at some point the pennsylvania state trooper with was shot. what we also know is that the suspect in all of this fled the scene at some point and harry, one of our reporters digging here telling us that that suspect then drove himself to the hospital, easton hospital where not too long ago we saw a picture, some video of the suspect's vehicle with the back window shot out. we also heard a little bit of

radio traffic between officers when this call came in about a shootout on the highway. so we are working right now. we have reporters on the way to the scene. one of our photographers e-mailed a short time ago saying that route 33 is shut down in both directions. route 22 backed up for miles. so it's taking a while to get to the scene so you can understand why. a pennsylvania state trooper shot there on the highway. look at that. traffic backed up for miles. all you can see there, trucks, tractor trailer after tractor trailer backed up. only a few cars getting by. we have also been checking tweets there. tom wolf sent a message through twitter not too long ago. there it is there on your screen, praying for this trooper and their family.
