that's what it feels like. >> let's bring in tammie souza, the temperatures really going to drop tonight. >> going to drop near record territory. we might break a couple records the next few nights. it's icy out there, which is why i've got to ice cubes behind me. the entire region is under a first alert for an arctic blast. i know we get cold during the winter but this is an extreme blast for this time of year. that's why it's kind of a big deal. it's not what we've been used today for the last couple of months, especially with the record breaking warmth in october. we'll be bitterly cold tomorrow, some places not making it to 40 tomorrow with a wind chill tomorrow that could be in the teens and 20s at times. it's going to be cold and gusty as far as the winds go for the remainder of the evening and into tomorrow morning. it will feel like the teens and 20s. some places like the poconos, the feels like might be zero. we'll see the near record cold out there. look at the cold front which has dropped across much of the

radner teenager. investigators say they arrested michael lieb on tuesday. the teen has thousands of followers on youtube and instagram. we'll have a full update on nbc 10 news at 6:00. this just in, a pennsylvania state trooper shot this week in north hampton county is improving. we've learned lieutenant seth kelly's condition has been upgraded to stable. the suspect is facing attempted murder charges. four officers hurt after two police cruisers collided. we learned the officers are doing okay, but at least one other person is looking for another place to sleep tonight. brandon hudson talked to someone who saw the whole thing happened. brandon joins us live. >> reporter: that witness was riding his bicycle through this

intersection when he saw the crash at the corner. an indirect casualty of the crash is this home. it's boarded up but this sign shows that no one is allowed inside because it's unsafe. two totalled police suvs andunl. it's the aftermath of a crash in kensington. the collision hurt four philadelphia cop and forced one person to pack up and leave his home. >> it sounded like a loud bongo. >> reporter: randy garcia live as few doors down from the intersection. >> it was so loud, the people came outside and told me their house was shaking. >> reporter: surveillance video shows the moments before this morning's wreck. police say the officers responded to a call about a reported shooting. witnesses couldn't believe it. >> i seen the one officer jump out, jump in the back of the cop car, his face was all bloody and stuff. it was a bad sight. >> reporter: a utility pole fell

firefighters still spraying water, putting out the hot spots and the smoke that's rising from what is now ashes inside that home. you can see those firefighters on the roof there. if you notice, they can reach through the roof and talk to their crews inside the house. that is the extent of the damage here in southwest philadelphia. the fire department was able to make quick work of the fire. it didn't damage much of the surrounding property but they continue to put out the hot spots and no reports of any injuries i should also pass that information along. nbc 10 news. all right. if you haven't done so yet today, take the time to thank a veteran for their service. in fort washington today, take a look, stubdents at upper dublin high school listened to two veterans and a gold star father. a history teacher set it up. she hopes students get a better

could reshape washington's political landscape. the white house said today president trump believes roy moore will do the right thing and step aside if the allegations against him are true. moore allegedly had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl almost 40 years ago. he denies the allegations. moore is the republican candidate in alabama's senate race, it's a contest that could impact the republican senate majority. new details at a tragic story out of philadelphia. they have recovered the gun used in the shooting death of a 2-year-old boy. the boy somehow got ahold of the gun and shot himself to death yesterday. police have not said who owns the gun. no one has been charged. one person is in custody after a deadly hit and run. the victim was hit along route 73 around 1:30 this morning. no word on the victim's identity or the person police arrested.

one person is recovering this afternoon after an apartment fire in camden county. sky force 10 over pacific avenue. firefighters rescued someone from that building, the person was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. it's not clear how the fire started. funeral services for some of the 26 people shot and killed in the texas church massacre will begin this weekend. the church plans to hold sunday service at a nearby community center. more victims will be laid to rest next weekend. in just a short time, a prayer vigil for the victims of the massacre will begin at the police station in camden county. the vigil is expected to start at 6:00 at the station on egg harbor road. organizers are expecting a large turnout from local churches. outside temperatures are taking a dive. ahead at 5:00 we'll show you how people are preparing for tonight's drop that will feel like it's in the single digits. hacking into your personal

new at 5:00, thousands of survivors of hurricane maria could be moving to pennsylvania. the loss of homes and jobs on the island could bring as many as 27,000 puerto ricans to our area. philadelphia has a large puerto rican population. these existing communities could make it easier for storm survivors to transition to a new home. hundreds of people have already arrived from puerto rico. our spanish language sister station telemundo 62 takes a
