london. >> i'm jim rosenfield. we have a first alert in effect now through tomorrow. >> our entire region is feeling an early taste of winter. playing through the chill in wilmington, running in the cold at the philadelphia museum of art. shivering at the bus stop in fairmount and bundled up in media. >> the winds are howling in center city tonight, making it feel even colder than it already is. here's a live look at those flags on top of the aramark building. tammie souza is here. tammie, record cold tomorrow? >> we could see record cold early tomorrow morning and again perhaps eeven sunday morning. the winds you saw there, they're part of the problem. we'll see wind chills into the single digits tonight. that's the feels like. we have a first alert for an arctic blast. i decided to use the ice cubes out there. it's for the entire region, all of us. nobody is spared from this

arctic blast. i know you say this is winter but we're getting january temperature and conditions right now in november. we dealt with summer-like conditions in october and we'll visit january a little early. this will last through saturday night. temperatures feels like the teens and 20s for tomorrow. overnight we could be in the single digits with the near record temperatures and a hard freeze on the way for anybody who hasn't frozen. billings, 40. the cold air has drifted pretty far south. philadelphia, we're down do 33 at this hour. we're falling quickly without that sunshine out there. 25 in pittsburgh. 21 in rochester. allentown, you're down to 28 now. it's 34 in vineland. 33 in atlantic city. 33 in dover, not far to go before we get down to the freezing mark across the entire area. tonight, 24 in philadelphia. that's very close to the old record of 23. we could break it. 20 in coatesville. 21 in allentown. 21 in mount holley and 21 in it stone harbor. i'll be back n few minutes to

talk about the wind chill and when we finally warm up. take the nbc 10 app with you no matter where you go this weekend because you can track the bitter chill, wind gusts and feels like temperatures with the first alert neighborhood forecast on your smartphone. before you step out of your house tomorrow wake up with nbc 10 news today. we'll track that arctic chill starting at 5:00 tomorrow morning. now, to breaking news in delaware county. a man arrested for stalking a local teenager who is famous on social media. police say the man travelled from michigan and showed up at the teenager's home in radner. drew smith is joining us live tonight. the teenager is popular on instagram and youtube and that's how the suspect knew him? >> reporter: that's right. police are talking about this case, mainly to caution parents, especially those of teenagers who have large followings on social media. in this case, an accused stalker drove halfway across the country. police say he was demanding a

hookup. this is michael lieb now charges with stalking and harassment. radner police say the 30-year-old drove from michigan to stalk a teenager who is popular on multiple social media platforms. >> the family's personal account started receiving e-mails saying i'm going to take your son, quote unquote. >> reporter: he's accused of showing up at the teen's home first a couple weeks ago. parents called police but he got away but returned several times. >> he was not leading him on, he wasn't making suggestions. he wasn't inviting him, nothing. >> reporter: detectives took over the teenager's accounts and lured lieb back to to the home. >> it's important for every family to go over internet safety to know the signs of anybody trying to visit anybody is extremely dangerous. >> reporter: and detectives thanked the teenager, his parents, the school district, everybody who helped keep him

safe in this case. they say it could have been a lot worse. fortunately, there was no physical contact. live in radner, drew smith, nbc 10 news. to this now, take a look at this surveillance video. it shows the moments right before two police cars crashed. there's the aftermath. the officers were responding to reports of a shooting. four officers were hurt in that accident. the impact was just off the screen in the surveillance video. the crash ripped the front end of one suv there, knocked the other one into this house. a witness says the collision sounded like a grenade exploded. >> the officer jumped in the back of the cop car, his face was so bloody. >> it was so loud, the people came outside and they told me their house was shaking. >> police say the officers had minor injuries. a building inspector says one neighbor will have to find another place to stay. the state trooper shot this week is showing signs of

improvement. kelly was shot several times by a man troopers had pulled over in plainfield township tuesday. now the suspect is facing attempted murder charges. new at 6:00, the state of delaware failed to send thousands of court appearance notices and their mistake may have sent people to jail. today the state said 9,500 notices for criminal cases were never mailed between june 1st and october 3rd. some people who didn't receive their notices may have been arrested for not showing up in court. the state says it is still trying to figure out just how all of this happened. and this just in, if you're planning on driving into philadelphia tonight, grab coins and cash. in the past hour, the philadelphia parking authority says there is a problem with its credit card processing vendor. if you're parking on the street, you must pay with either cash or coins. credit cards right now won't work. democratic leaders in philadelphia are sounding the

alarm this evening on republican efforts to pass tax reform. local and congressional democrats say tax credits used to build projects like the ronald mcdonald house would no longer exist under the republican proposals. house and senate leaders releases their tax plan this week. >> there's a lot of enthusiasm because it's going to encourage economic growth and investment in the united states. >> it hurts the middle class, those that want to be middle class. it helps to protect the rich. >> both republican proposals are expected to be merged and voted on next week without democratic support. in the past hour, the senate candidate accused of sexual misconduct called the allegations completely false. roy moore told sean hannity on his radio show that anyone who abuses a 14-year-old should not run for senate. but he said he didn't do it. it's alleged the republican from alabama had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl almost 40

years ago. the white house said today president trump believes moore will do the right thing and step aside if the allegations are true. they say moore is bringing more trouble than one senate seat is worth. the flight instructor who worked with roy halladay is sharing his thoughts. nbc 10 received a statement from bob smith. he said i certainly won't speculate on the accidents since that's the province of the ntsb and others. he was a wonderful person and a thoroughly careful and consheentio consheanceabili consheancets pilot. he was killed video recorded by a vot

someone shows it going down. firefighters battled a fire. sky force 10 flew over, you can see them with their axes breaking through the roof with smoke billowing up from the inside. crews also worked to fight the fire from the ground. the fire is now out and no one was hurt. in delaware county this afternoon, a septa bus was involved in this crash. you can see the gray car is smashed right on the side of the bus. this happened on route 3 in newtown square around 1:45. no one on the bus was hurt and there's very little damage to the bus. > ♪ ♪ a celebration of service all across our area today as we honor our veterans. each town celebrated veterans in different ways. nbc 10's erin coleman shows us

how people are spending the day by recognizing those who have served. ♪ ♪ >> reporter: even in the bitter cold, a salute to the men and women who have fought and who are still fighting for our country. crowds lined the streets in media, for the 58th annual veteran's day parade. >> this is one of the great parades in all of our state. i don't know of a parade of longer duration and greater significance than this one. >> hundreds of veterans were there. and here in philadelphia. where they were up early running the rocky steps together. a moment of silence at widener university to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. ♪ and the rockets red glare >> reporter: while in delaware the color guard was front and center in brandywine. along with hundreds of flags, each one purchased and placed to support homeless veterans.

right now at 6:00, move over hollywood. hello allentown. look at that. the lehigh valley town seeing all kinds of celebrity sightings right now as it hosts the filming of a big time movie, bruce willis, samuel l. jackson starting in the movie glass. they're filming it at allentown state hospital. >> so cool. nbc 10's steven fisher shows us how their presence is helping allentown's bottom line. >> reporter: there is a buzz here in downtown allentown. these days, you never know who you might run into. you might want to keep your camera ready just in case you spot one of those a list celebrities. businesses we spoke to here, say having them here in town has done nothing but help business. >> i never thought in my entire life samuel l. jackson -- any celebrities for that matter -- would be walking through these doors. >> reporter: that's what happened here at grain and a few other restaurants in allentown. >> people walking in the door a

philadelphia, 23. we'll be very close to it if not tied or break it. these were today's highs. 51 today. wow, that's amazing. that was at 12:01, right after midnight. yeah, it fell since then. right now, we're 33 in philadelphia. 28 in allentown. 16 at mount pocono. 34 in millville, atlantic city at 33. 33 in wilmington. mount holley, 31. pottstown, 29. here's where we're going when you wake up tomorrow, 25 in philadelphia. 24 in allentown. 25 in wilmington. atlantic city off of the water you'll get that freeze, 28. if you're on the water, i think you'll stay right above freezing because the water temperature is isn't low 60s. at 9:00 in the morning, 29 in philadelphia. 22 for mount pocono, 30 in millville. we'll be lucky to make it into the upper 30s and low 40s. we'll see 40 for a high tomorrow but it won't feel that way because of the winds, which will

still be a little bit light. a little breezy, not as much as today. it will feel like the 20s all day tomorrow. sunday morning will be below freezing still. 29. that's why we have a first alert that's in effect for tomorrow and tomorrow night. sunday, we'll get into the 40s. 1:00 in the morning, 8 is what it will feel like in philly. 7 in allentown. morris river, you'll feel like 10. when you wake up tomorrow, 10 is what it will feel like in philadelphia. the wind chill will feel like it's in the 30s. in philadelphia, the old record 21. we'll be 24. 19 in allentown, 21 is our forecast. i think the chance of breaking records is going to be in trenton, atlantic city and wilmington where we may actually break the record by just a degree or so. outside doppler radar shows clear skies. look at the lake effect snow machine which is turned on with the cold air coming across the
