how fake drugs could end up in your medicine cabinet. we begin in port richmond. where an elderly man was found dead inside his home tonight. police showed up to the crime scene about two hours ago. detectives found blod on the first and second floor. neighbors stood outside watching and wondering what happened. police are investigating this as a suspicious death. if we get more information we'll bring it to you. to the latest onts man hunt for an escaped prisoner. the accused murder has been on the loose for nearly 24 hours. >> huggens was one of four teenager prisoners who escaped from a juvenile facility in egg harbor city. the other three were captured this morning. he's still on the run. >> live in bridge ton. father

following the search. where it continues now. >> we know 18 year-old michael has family here in the bridge ton area. police are not telling us how they might have gotten all the way here from egg harbor city. tonight police are calling him dangerous. >> think about her. if you don't think about anybody else. >> reporter: she is calling on 18 year-old michael hugens to think about his mother. the accused killer remains on the run after breaking out of the youth detention center. shortly after midnight. nearly 24 hours, dozens of officers have been on the lookout as the search extended 30 miles away. >> i would pray that you would turn yourself in. before any tragedy happens. that your mother would have to suffer. >> reporter: investigators say he along with three other teens over powered guard and stole his car. home surveillance shows the teens slamming into a jeep. as they drove away from officers.

they eventually crashed into a home. before taking off on foot. reverend runs the church a few days down from the family. he's also hoping the teenager decides to do the right thing. >> so nobody gets hurt in the situation. >> reporter: three of the teens were caught earlier in the day. but huggens broke away. he's accused of killing lee during a robbery. in 2016. lee's family talked to hus tonight. >> i want them to catch him. he needs to be locked away. >> 16 schools were closed today because of the man hunt. we have learned now that all of the schools will reopen tomorrow. with the normal schedule. for now we're live in bridge ton. nbc10 news. >> be the first to know if there are breaking updates on this story. we'll bring them to you of course or down load the nbc10

app. now to the latest on a car crash in south jersey. see the car wedged under the back of the fed ekts truck? the car driver sped up when they tried to pull hm over. and ended up slamming the stolen car into the tractor trailer. this was on route 130 this morning. neefr river ton road. the passenger in the stolen car was killed. the teenage driver is in critical condition. new video shows a woman who gave birth just hours after being shot. the victim mother recorded this video inside her hotel room. >> brandon hudson is live outside the hospital tonight. the family has been through a lot in the last 24 hours. >> that's right. it's been a long 24 hours. this is supposed to be a happy moment. they were in the hospital room in shock. the other children saw a as a neighbor shoot their own mother. >> i'm traumatized. a lot of emotions.

>> reporter: feeling emotionally and physically tired. she mustered up strength to talk about giving birth hours after she says she was shot by her neighbor. >> with the help of my family and loved ones. >> reporter: she shared her thoughts on a cell phone video from her hospital room. her mother sent us photographs of the gun shont wounds. police say the bullet traveled through the 21 year-old mothers left leg. and into her right leg. her mother said last night started with an argument between her daughter and the neighbor. >> as soon as my daughter closed her porch and went into my porch the laity swung her door open. and came out and shot my daughter. >> reporter: officers arrested cox outside the home. in the oxford circle section. cox went to jail. and she went to the hospital. she gave birth to her dau after two this morning. >> how have the last 24 hours been for you? >> hard. many kids and my grand kids are

length to trick buyers into thinking that their product is authentic. investigative reporter discovered even the most alert patients can be duped. and the consequences could be deadly. >> my cholesterol control is 170 something. >> reporter: walking near his hometown. chris recounted his 15 year battle against high cholesterol. and the counter fit drug scare that nearly derailed it. >> the first thing i thought of what what was i taking. >> reporter: a cautionary tale for anyone taking prescription drugs. especially as counter fitters are getting trickery down to a science. >> it's going to be difficult if not impossible for a consumer to detect this is fraud. >> reporter: walker is the assistance special agent in charge of security investigation. he agreed to open his department evidence locker and for the first time, he showed us these

boxes of counter fit prescription. seized from two philly street level dealers. >> consumers will get counter fit products and they work. or work to some degree. the reality of it is they have no idea what they're putting in their body. >> reporter: most purchases begin innocently enough at the computer. with patients looking frg medicine at a discount. and most drugs are simply mailed nd to the united states. like any other parcel. the investigators worked with pfizer counter fit lab in connecticut. to order prescriptions online. so we could see the process from start to finish. >> so the medicine arrived in this. looks normal enough. >> reporter: the supposed viagra pills arrive from canada the in the bubble padded envelope. pfizer director of investigation noticed red flags. the blister packaging rather than a standard bottle. and a mistake in the logo

printing. sure enough a quick lab tt concluded for $130 plus. we got phony medicine. >> this is a fail. which means counter fit. >> reporter: the lab tests 1,000 samples a year for concerned customers. law enforcement. and investigation. nearly nine out of the ten samples turn out to be fake. from phony arthritis medicine. to pills full of led and toxin. and a knock off cancer drug with no active ingredient. providing false hope to a dying patient. >> they'll take a chance. this will be the cure. now, they get this product and there's nothing in it. >> reporter: walker says buying from regulated, american pharmacies is your best bet. to stay safe. ironically enough he did exactly that. in 2003 rite aid pharmacy told

closer it will drive the showers through over night into tomorrow morning. we'll be watching that rain as it moved through at 3, 4, 5:00 in the morning. and the front is through. maybe an afternoon quick shot of wrap around showers. highs tomorrow in the lower 50s and very windy on the backside. on friday, what we'll see a high that will be in the upper 40s. and low 50s. winds that will be out of the north and they turn to the south. warming us up into the mid-50s on saturday. here comes another system. it should come in after the half marathon. it will be with us all afternoon and evening. we have plenty of wind behind that for a raw sunday out there. how windy you ask? s tomorrow night we could see wind gusts to 35 miles per hour. on friday and saturday somewhere between 20 to 30 miles per hour. and then we have get into sunday. and sunday we can see wind gusts between 45 and 51 miles per
