open investigation. federal investigators say people are still unaccounted for after a fire ripped through a senior living home nearly 48 hours ago. fly eagles fly. >> eagles fans have landed in texas and we are getting you ready for the sunday night showdown. and first alert, strong winds overnight and they could be damaging. we begin with the first alert. i'm denise nakano. a strong and potentially damaging winds. take a look at that flag from atop the camera in cape may. it is whipping around right now.

first alert meteorologist steve has the timing on the winds and how it will impact your neighborhood and this could throw a wrench in the sunday plans. >> we have the philadelphia marathon and it does look windy. and in fact our entire region will see the strong wind gusts on the order of 40 to 50 miles per hour. when will it occur, between let's say 4:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and let's say 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the worst of the duration and we're looking at sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour but it is the gusts i'm concerned about. 40 to 50 miles per hour that could snap tree limbs and cause power outages and with out door activities on sunday we are concerned with that. it is a piece of the storm system that is delivering us showers. the warm front will sneak through and then we see that breeze kick up. so there is two elements of wind, one tonight with the warm wind and then one element tomorrow with the cold wind. and you feel that with the dropping temperature. right now we saw those flags flopping in the wind and the winds are increasing and the

worm front comes north, so allentown and bucks county, he don't have the wind but it will increase through the day tomorrow. and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour. i'll be tracking the rain for you when it does end and of also of course the up coming holiday week forecast. 48 hours later investigators say people are unaccounted for after a fire. atf were combing through the burned out building trying to determine what sparked that fire. nbc 10 andrea klein thomas and some people with still unaccounted for. >> that is the big concern. and investigators were only able to conduct some interviews. earlier this morning there were still hot spots and later on the rain came and it prevented investigators from getting inside of the building nearly 48 hours later there is still a lot of unanswered questions.

>> reporter: a national response team from the bureau of alcohol tobacco and firearms arrived at the barkley friends facility to assist local law enforcement. >> it doesn't mean anything nefarious happened, it is just that we had resources and were able to assist. >> reporter: nearly two days later investigators still cannot say if every one made it out safely. >> there are still a few that remain unaccounted. i can't speak to the number because we are still waiting to talk to family members. >> on thursday evening some elderly residents were able to walk out. others were in wheelchairs an rushed to safety as flames came out of the building. now answers lie among the soot and ashes. >> reporter: now if the weather could cooperate investigators hope to return here tomorrow. now if a statement barkley friends said it is working with the displaced residents and that includes offering them counseling. live in west chester, nbc 10 news. >> thank you. our coverage continues on

morning at 9:30 and then join us at xfinity live for a watch party at kickoff time of 8:30 and then after the game watch nbc 10 news. the joy of crossing that finish line. this morning thousands of runners pounded the pavement for the philadelphia marathon and 8 k. you could see them holding their arms up after finishing running. 13.1 miles. and get this, the men's winner finished in just over an hour for a number course record. that means he ran each mile in about four minutes and 45 seconds. and there are traffic closures in place for tomorrow's marathon. we have all of the closure listed on the traffic tab on the nbc ten app. many of them are around the ben franklin parkway and that begins at 7:00 a.m. developing now, former teen idol david cassidy is in the hospital with organ failure. that is according to his publicist. now he was taken to a hospital on wednesday and needs a liver

transplants. right now he is conscious and his family is with him. in february the partridge family star revealed he was battling dementia. and malcolm young one of the founders of ac/dc has died at the age of 64. young was diagnosed with dementia in 2014. a family statement said he died peacefully with his family by his side. young formed the band with his younger brother angus and the group's album back in plaque "b black" is the most behind michael jackson thriller. bryan shaws had been with the new kensington police department for less than a year and shot in the chest after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase. he died at the hospital. police are offering a $40,000 reward for information leading them to his killer.

honda is recalling a popular minivan because second row seats my tip forward. if you have a honda oddis, a 2011 or newer, this could impact you. honda said the second row seat may tip forward if the driver brakes and the seat is not properly latched. the company is working on a repair and when it finds one, it will notify owners and the repair will be free. honda said there are instructions online slowing you how to latch that seat properly. the city of rehoboth beach is doubling the tax on residential rentals. come january 1st you pay 6% instead of 3% tax. now that applies to bed and breakfast and condo and cabin and air bnb. the city will use the extra money for infrastructure improvements including storm drains. well today macy's in center sit unveiled the holiday window.

we were on market street where a special ceremony was held. this year's theme is titled "reasons to believe", the decorations include symbols of family tradition and togetherness and giving and love. with a christmas light show and hot chocolate and an appearance by santa and his elves. thanksgiving came early for some. the annual thanksgiving celebration at the arch street united methodist church. families weretre -- treated to meal with the trimmings and a special treat for nasar of syria. >> it means a lot to me because bringing team together on -- to share a meal is rooted in my culture. >> we know their stories and what they've been through to get here and then to see them, see them smiling and their children laughing and dancing, it is incredible. >> he came with his wife and son last year. it took them two years to get here. donations were rolling into

the food bank of south jersey in pen socken, part of the annual turkey drop. residents and local businesses were invited to drop off frozen turkeys and other thanksgiving food to support local families in need. and while we were there, a donation of six cases of turkeys came in from statton medical transport. the ambulance service for kennedy health system. well wet and windy in university city tonight. light rain fell most of the day. and could you see the ground is still wet there. and as we take a live look at center city, look at that flag blowing. strong winds will pick up tomorrow and we've issued a first alert and steve is here with the timing and how damaging the winds could be. not the greatest time. >> the philadelphia marathon going on tomorrow morning and runners are resting tonight and early bed time. and eating a lot of pasta. >> and having to go against the wind. >> but the bearer of bad news with the wind. but the rain should get better

for the game -- or the race tomorrow. as far as we go outside right now, it depends on where you are. just neighborhood by neighborhood right now. on where the rain is falling, but what you need to know about the forecast is this. we will be seeing some showers moving through the area and those showers will be heavy at times. so beware if you are outside, some of the showers will have a heavier downpour but not raining the entire time. so as we go through the overnight, mild temperatures if you are stepping outside, you certainly don't need the heavier coat. temperatures will be going backwards overnight. warming up into the au50s and t storm system will come through with period of heavier rain and i think that rain -- most likely window is 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and then clearing out and then part two of the storm system which is the brisk chill and the cool winds move in. so here is the warm area. to our south and west. and you see the chilly temperatures here. it is eroding and moving out so that is why we're expecting the milder weather overnight. but the storm system is a fast

mover so this chilly air by chicago and detroit, that has eyes set on us by tomorrow evening. here is your radar network right now. and you see, again it depends on where you are. patchy showers up there and say around northwest montgomery county and through northern portions of chester county along 322 seeing showers and maybe patchy drizzle across the ben franklin bridge across areas of central and southen new jersey. the real deal is this storm system and this is the heaviest rain and then behind it that is when we open up the flood gates for cooler air. so let's walk you through the timing of the showers. you could see patchy in nature through 11:00 tonight. when you tune in at 11:00, i'll be tracking that line to the north and west and as we go through the overnight, so most of will you be sleeping during this but this is when the heavier rain will fall and then hear the winds rattle tomorrow morning, expect wind gusts 40 to 50 miles per hour but look at this. by 7:00 tomorrow morning, when

the race starts on the ben franklin parkway it looks like nice and sunny conditions. very chilly and very blustery. so let's talk about the first alert. the entire region looking at the potential for some strong winds. when? between 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. tomorrow and it will be 40 to 50 mile-per-hour wind gusts throughout most of the day. so look for that. when do the winds step up. overnight 50 mile-per-hour winds by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, and 50 mile-per-hour winds by lunchtime. that could knock tree limbs and power lines down but by 7:00 p.m. and getting ready for eagles festivities, that is when we will see the weather calming down. quick look at the temperatures. again not too bad tomorrow for the race, but by tomorrow night have the coat out as temperatures will drop. a quick look at the holiday week forecast. temperatures in the mid to upper 50s and then chilly weather by wednesday and it is a cold bird for thanksgiving with temperatures in the 40s. other update tonight at 11:00. good to see you, i'm from
