investigation. it's still lit up at 6:00. they plan to be back here to start seeing what else they can find and learn. we are learn iing into the fire safety history of the company that owns this senior center. these are the remarkable pictures of fire filling the night sky in westchester friday morning. we're seeing the extraordinary effort to save 133 residents. many in wheelchairs or bedridden. >> the firefighters told me that they kept going back in there until their helmets were melting and cracked. police officers were running in there without any breathing. apparatus. >> investigators are sifting through the rubble trying to find out what happened to the four still missing.

>> say a prayer for them and their families. >> the nbc 10 investigators first revealed inspection records for the senior living facility showing previous fire safety violations. they include failure to maintain smoke doors and failure toçó prevent residents' beds from m koling in contact with electrical outlets. these violations were fixed in. february, but besides this facility, the kendall corporation operate 12 others including two more in pennsylvania. state inspections revealed previous safety violations all over the past five years at both, but the most recent inspections show problems with things like sprinkler protection fixed. a kendall corporation senior staff member said no one was available to speak with us or answer questions about fire safety. the company was fully focused on helping displaced residents. investigators will be in westchester through the holiday working to answer questions about what happened to the four seniors they still haven't found.

>> they understand the magnitude of what on here and they need to get answers for these remaining families. >> reporter: this investigation is going to take some time. we are learning more about how often this type of fire happens. according to the national fire protection association between 2011 and 2015, there were more than 2700 senior care center fires nationwide. that organization says they are on the rise. mitch blacher, nbc 10 news. our coverage of the fire continues tonight at 11:00. we are going to speak to a woman who said his father was in the hospital. what she says about his development and how he's recovering. to your first alert weather now. no rain to slow people down.

>> let's bring in meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> those winds are going to be shift iing a little bit bringin in warmer air. we have had a lot of sunshine today. the skies are clear now. wind diminishing. the humidity low. the temperatures should really be dropping pretty quickly with the clear skies. it's not as you'll see in a minute. a little bit of moisture building up along the gulf coast. that could be affecting us tomorrow morning. 46 degrees in philadelphia. now we hit 48 for the high. that's well below average. only 38 right now in allentown. but with the warmer air trying to come, it's going to prevent the. temperature from dropping too much.

it would be at least 5 to 8 degrees cooler. temperatures very similar. this is a sign of things to come. we'll see more ups and downs through the holiday weekend. i'll take you through that in a few minutes. the ntsb released its preliminary report into the plane crash that killed roy halladay. it showed that the plane was rising and falling in the moments before the crash. that confirms what witnesses said in the time shortly after the plane went down. crews are still going over the wreckage. halladay crashed on november 7th off the gulf coast of florida. new at 6:00, cvs suspended charlie rose. this move comes after reports by "the washington post" eight women say that he made unwanted sexual advances towards them. the allegations stem from the late '90s through 2011. the women either worked for rose

or wanted to. in a statement charlie rose said it's essential these women know i hear them and i deeply apoll skriez for my inappropriate behavior. right now at 6:00 al franken is facing a second accuser tonight. the woman says franken grabbed her backside as the two posed for a picture back in 2010. franken says he doesn't remember taking the photo but feels badly the woman felt disrespected. the new allegation comes days after a radio host accused franken of forcibly kissing her while rehearsing for a uso tour in 2006. franken was later photographed with his hands near her breast as she slept during a flight. the first woman to accuse senate candidate roy moore is speaking out in an nbc 10 exc s exclusive. >> i felt guilty. i felt like i was the one that was to blame. >> moore assaulted her when she

was 14. she first told her story to the "washington post" earlier this month. at least eight other women have come forward with accusations against moore. moore has denied the allegations, but the republican is under growing pressure to drop out of the alabama senate race. the politics of these sexual assault allegations are coming up on "nbc nightly news" right after this newscast. nbc 10 is is your official station of the philadelphia eagles. the eagles are high above the rest of the nfl tonight. they are 9-1 record is still the best in the league after they embarrassed the cowboys last night right here on nbc 10. the hype both locally and nationally around this team is reaching an all-time high. tonight steven fisher talks to fans who are super bowl dreaming already. >> a few things taste better than a traditional philly cheese

he tweeted out today saying, spoke to meek mill and he want wanted people to know regardless of his unsituation, he's in good spirits and humbled by the support the people have shown him. we'll continue to fight against the harsh sentencing practices that have affected meek and millions of other people of color for generations. meek mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison after prosecutors say he violated his probation several is times. . he was convicted in 2008 for drug a gun charges. meek's legal team says they will fight the sentence. new at 6:00, new jersey lawmakers are trying to keep beachgate from ever happening again. chris christie spent the july 4th weekend on a beach that was closed to the public because of a state government shutdown. the house advanced a bill to keep all state parks and beaches open for the first week of any future government. shutdown. new jersey's next governor wants to significant bly raise the minimum wage. phil murphy rallied with

lawmakers in trenton today. he wants to boost the minimum wage from $8.44 to $15 an hour. last year governor christie vetoed a bill to raise the wage. jim kenny is trying to keep dreamers from being deported. he called on congress to pass a dream act to save the daca program. it's for young undocumented immigrants brought to the u.s. by their parents as children. the program lets them go to college or work without fear of deportation. president trump decided to end the program. but the president has said he would work with congress to find a way to keep it. today about half a dozen people began a dream act hunger strike. they gathered outside chris smith's office. the dreamers plan to keep thor strike going through thanksgiving in hopes of drawing attention to their fight. >> i am just one face out of 800,000 families that will be affected. and i think right now is a very krit time in our country that we need to take action. >> the groups the hunger strike

new at 6:00, two conjoined twins are going home just in time for thanksgiving. spent the last 485 days all the children's hospital of philadelphia. they were born in july of last year joined at their heads. back in june, surgeons separated them and the first surgery of its kind ever at the hospital. now they are heading home to north carolina. but they will continue to monitor them as they grow. we're counting down the days

cold day for anyone out shopping at the italian market today. this is a live look. temperatures in the low 40s. >> no rain to worry about for people tonight heading to their thanksgiving destinations. maybe a little early. this is a live look at city avenue from the presidential city camera. dry roads there and the traffic is moving too. it's great. let's go now to first alert meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz with more on what we can expect for the rest of the week. >> it's actually pretty good. very few weather problems for the rest of the week. and you know how important that can be. it can get some big issues with all these airline travel all over the country. 46 degrees in philadelphia. 38 in allentown. we're cooling down. but we're not going to cool down as much as we would if the atmosphere wasn't warm enough overall. some of the areas already down in the 30s. coatesville at 39 degrees.

if the atmosphere was not warm enough, they might be down in the 20s. but it's not going to happen. a little bit of wind left. 37 in pottstown. 35 in reading. the wind continues to diminish every hour. mostly clear skies. not only around here, but around the entire eastern half of the country. a little bit of moisture building up down south and that may end up leading to a little bit of rain around here. through the evening, overnight hours, perfectly clear. more sunshine tomorrow. and with the southerly wind, that temperature is going up. take a look at those numbers for your neighborhood at the bottom of the screen. then as we go through tuesday, late in the day, perhaps a few clouds start to increase. now towards midnight, we may

start to see a little rain move in. most of this is falling in the middle of the night while you're asleep. by wednesday morning, roads may be wet in parts of the area p but it may still be raining toward the shore and southern delaware. that moves out and that is it for weather threats for the next several days. black friday is looking great as well. look at that. wednesday is looking good. so tuesday, we're close to 60 degrees. way above normal, way warmer than. wednesday, early shower and then not too bad in the afternoon. and then thursday, that's chilly. it's chilly on thanksgiving. but then it can be chilly and doing a lot worse. we have seen even snow before. it's cold but it's not bitter cold. i don't expect it to be very windy. temperatures in the 30s to start off the day.
