weather. >> a live look now which just opened for the season only moments ago. skaters should skr sunny and milder conditions today. what's in store for our weekend as people still head out to shop? krystal klei is here with your most accurate forecast. >> we are looking at temperatures. they are already moving north. it lab mild day out there. perfect for ice skating. 45 degrees where we are right now. a little warmer up to 49 degrees already. we are at 44 in atlantic city. only a few hours ago most of these numbers were in the low to mid-20s. there's been a nice warm up so far. you can see radar and satellite shows a thing to track overhead. no rain for today. certainly no snow in the forecast just sunshine for your black friday. it means if you want to get out shopping this afternoon you are good to go. it will be very nice for the rets rest of the day.

we are going to cap out around 51 degrees around 3:00 p.m. or so. wednesday light for today. then we get to the weekend. it's a mixed bag. warmer temperatures cooler temperatures windy weather and even isolated showers. we'll track all of that out for you and let you know what your weekend holds. >> all right. thank you. now to a developing story. philadelphia police investigating an we lek tri cushion. police say a body was found on top of a septa train. our photo journalist reports it was a regional rail train. they are causing delays on several regional rail lines. for more let's check in with nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter. >> we'll start off with that situation. these are residual delays that are taking place as a result of of that issue.

you can see chestnut hill west trenton, these are all impacted because of that. so again maybe experiencing a lit billion little bit of a slow down there. so there's an accident that has the eastbound lanes jammed up all the way back to broad street. you may be backed up if you're trying to get over to jersey at 24 hour this hour. a little more happening there. things are slowing down on route 202 approaching the mall. before we go i want to give you one more check at cherry hill. there are some slow downs in the area get tlg as well. >> all right. thank you. philadelphia family's holiday interrupted by flames shooting out of their roof early this morning. she was returning from a thanksgiving dinner and saw the flames at her own home.

she lived at the house for about 30 years. despite the massive damage to her home she still has a sense of optimism. >> my son was here and in the meantime this happened. here i am my house burned down. at the same time i did get out. something good is going to come out of all of this. it know it will. >> as she just said, her son was inside the home but he made it out okay. several homes were damaged and neighbors had to evacuate. officials working to determine what sparked that fire. take a look at this fire the viewer said the home ace peer to be unoccupied. we are worked to find out if anyone was hurt. a public park was closed because officials say the soil may be contaminated.

leaders in potstown put up these signs and posted an advisory about the park being closed. it is due to potential health hazards in the soil. they are tersingsting the soil to see how dangerous it would be. neighbors tell us they are pretty worried. >> i raised four kids there. now i'm concerned later in life for them or even myself what might happen. >> officials tell us they are working to get final test results so they know which kind may be in the soil and what they need to do to clean it up. there are new developments in the saga of of a former olympian who is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend. details on the missdecision coming up. hear her message for the disgraced movie mogul straight

thanksgiving dinner went up in flames for one family in bucks county. body cam video shows a turkey fryer raging with flames. they were called to put the fire out. the homeowner suffered minor burns and is expected to be okay. and the california man set his house on fire while preparing thanksgiving dinner. he said he was smoking a turkey when he fell asleep. the flames eventually spread to his home. the man and his wife were able to get out of his home before it was destroyed. well, it is the season of giving and this year one thing you might want to consider giving is blood. we are urged by alaina to find out why this is a great time of year to roll up your sleeve and

give. i read something statistic this morning. every two seconds someone needs blood in this country. there is a constant urgent need to roll up your sleeve and donate. why is this year especially important to do that? >> we always see between thanksgiving and new year's day people give less blood. people are -- it's really important because every two seconds someone does need blood. that's 365 days a year. we need to collect around a thousand units to meet our patients demands. that includes the time between thanksgiving and new year's day. we are encouraging people to come out and donate. >> it is really time sensitive. some may be thinking they can freeze it or put it in a refrigerator. really that's not the case. it has a shelf life. it doesn't last long right? >> red blood cells last 42 days. platelets that are used for

cancer patients only a have shelf life of five days. it is really important we collect those every single day to make sure hospitals have enough for patients. >> what's the difference between giving blood and giving platelets? >> you can go to our site. you -- it takes about an hour longer. so about two hours total. they are extralkting the plasma and platelets and returning the red blood cells back to you. so you know you can give platelets more often. it does take a longer process but every five days -- platelets only last five days. it is important patients come out and give platelets. >> what is power red donation? >> at some of our blood drives you can give a double dose of red esz enherbally.

we continue to follow breaking news. a water main break, neighbors say this river of water has been flowing since early this morning. mitch is live at the scene with an update mitch. >> yeah. you can hear they are starting to make pretty nice progress here. they actually started to shut off the water flow we saw for a few hours just down the street here. we can take a look at video of what it looked like a little bit earlier. we are told it is an 8 inch

turkey. we are here at the outlets ch it is such a crucial black friday inside shopping malls. they are facing online shapopping. they could get some help. retail predicting 115 million americans will show up in person to do black friday shopping. it comes for retail stores. we saw historic closings including macy's having trouble competing with amazon. today it is all about being outside in the cold waiting in line and physically touching the merchandise. >> i feel like going out to the store and seeing things every now and then we'll go with amazon. for the most part i like being around people. >> there are a lot of stores saying they are closing. >> what is that telling you if. >> online shopping. it is easier. you don't have to wait in line

degrees. these are not terrible temperatures. it feels outside. i was outside a little bit ago. a little jacket and you're good. it is not a surprise there's a chill in the air. there's this clear picture. i'm calling it a mild day. it is not as bitterly cold. we had 20s out there. look at the wide view. not really any clouds. so we have got those dry conditions. good to go the rest of the day. we will see changes over the weekend. nothing extreme, just a dry cold front that will roll through. let's talk about the three day outlook. today 51 degrees for the forecast high. we are making our way into the upper 40s. tomorrow up to 56 degrees. we know how this goes. we get the warm air pushed from the southwest and then the cold front goes through then we cool
