bearal shawn jeffrey. it also markings the second consecutive week the eagles defense holds their opponent out of the end zone. the birds 3 is-3 victory is their ninth straight is pushing their record to a league-best, 10-1. the last time they started a season 10-1 was back to 2004, a season that ended with a trip to the super bowl. live at xfinity live in southern philadelphia. lauren, fans are dreaming of another super bowl run. >> reporter: yeah, denise, eagles fans, they have a lot to celebrate here tonight, and some of those dreams you mentioned, they started even before the birds took the field today, but this game did nothing to dash them. outside the linc, high hopes and high expectations. >> they're going to crush the bears. >> how confident are you? >> wildly confident. >> reporter: it's not always the way for eagles fans, but this season -- >> defense is clicking, offense is clicking.

but it was when that 10 and 1 was announced after the game that really got people excited. live in south philadelphia, i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news. >> lauren, thank you. plenty of eagles coverage to come. john clark with nbc sports philadelphia has reaction from inside the locker room after today's win over the bears. developing now, a shooting that has left a 3-year-old girl in the hospital. the little girl got ahold of her father's gun and shot herself in the leg. meanwhile, the little girl is in surgery as doctors try to save her. nbc10 aundrea cline-thomas joins us. aundrea, police expect to charge one of the adults who was home at the time. >> reporter: that's right, denise. in fact, four adults. some were home at the time. some lived in the house. they are right now at southwest detectives being interviewed. there are two main problems here. one, the obvious, that a 3-year-old got ahold of an unsecured gun. police say there was a delay in

calling 911 and the grandmother and other adults in the home were not forthcoming about what happened. just before -- just after 12:00 this afternoon, police responded to a call about a child bleeding in the 1300 block of south wilton treat. medics were not told the 3-year-old shot herself in the thigh. police say the grandmother cleaned up the scene before police arrived. her father allegedly always locks up his .40al before handgun. today he says he was running for work and asked the grandmother to do it for him. the grandmother put the gun in the closet. 3-year-old girl got ahold of the gun and shot herself in the thigh. the bullet travelled through her calf and she's currently in surgery as doctors try to save her leg. >> we have these parent who's want to have guns and you have a right to own a gun, but when you have children you have a bigger responsibility to make sure that gun is put away. sickening to see little kids going to the hospital for gun

shot wounds under the age of 5. >> reporter: lieutenant walker said he expects the grandmother will be charged with endangering the welfare of a child, but there may be other charges for some of the other adults that were in the house as well. that's the latest from. aundrea cline-thomas, nbc10 news. >> thank you, aundrea. a philadelphia police officer is recovering in the hospital after he was hit while directing traffic. it happened on large street in the city's oxford circle's section. an 89-year-old woman drove around a police vehicle blocking traffic and hit the officer. the officer is expected to be okay. no word on any charges. senator al franken is speaking out for the first time since sexual assault allegations surfaced against him. in an interview with nprnews.org, franken continued his apology campaign. >> this is what i'm doing, i'm taking responsibility. i apologize to the women who have felt disrespected.

and to everyone i've let down. that's a lot of people. people -- >> reporter: >> now, this is the photo that sparked the debate. it was taken back in 2006 while franken was overseas entertaining troops. the woman in the photograph is leeann tweeden, a los angeles radio host. three more women have come forward and accused franken of sexual harassment. and john conyers is stepping down as the ranking member of the house judiciary committee. conyers, who is the longest serving member in congress, announced his plans as a result of the ongoing investigation into sexual harassment and abuse allegations against him. conyers denies those allegations. philadelphia police are investigating a home invasion that sent a woman to the hospital. investigators say they're looking for three or four men who broke into a home on oakford street in point breeze. police telling us the intruders also pistol whipped a wheelchair-bound man. another woman was able to escape and run to a nearby police

station to get help. and a 60-year-old man is at jefferson hospital tonight after he jumped out of a window to escape a fire. this two-story home on vista street in the northeast caught fire just after 11:00 this morning. the man who jumped hurt his leg. no word yet how that fire started. well, thanksgiving weekend is nearly in the books. as thousands of people in the region return home. here's a live look at 30th street station where you can see some activity out there. amtrak is advising passengers to arrive early to catch their train home. and the roads appear to be moving along pretty nicely. a little backup there. there is a live look from our presidential camera showing the expressway near city avenue. holiday travellers enjoying a nice run of late november weather. time for the nbc10 first alert forecast with steve sosna. >> it was a gorgeous day, you

a woman with down's syndrome is celebrating after to be the first to compete in the miss minnesota pageant. she's not new to the competition world and she's done it in the past. officials in the pageant are calling her a, quote, trailblazer. now your nbc10 first alert weather. i'm first alert meteorologist steve sosna here. after a beautiful thanksgiving day weeks, a little cool today, but otherwise really nice weather we had through the entire weekend and i think we're going to continue that good stretch here for the next several days. some things that you'll want to know about, though, the mornings are still going to be chilly. looking at temperatures in the 30s and 40s. so you will need a jacket. you can't escape that. but by the afternoon hours, we're looking at 50s to near 60 degree weather, especially by

john clark is live at lincoln financial field with more. hey, john. >> reporter: hey, danny. the eagles made chicago look like the bad news bears out here. he said he was so upset and the defense was so upset they didn't get the shutout, that the chicago bears got a field goal. that is the expectation level of these eagles. they're doing something they've never done in team history, they win three straight games by 28 or nmore points. here is carson wentz on another good day for the red zone offense. >> the biggest thing is the game plan that we have coming in in each week. our coaches do a tremendous job of getting guys in the right places. >> i think it's the ability for carson to put the ball where it needs to be each and every time. he's playing at a really, really high level. he's the best quarterback i've played with so i'm just fortunate to be here. >> reporter: the eagles have been scoring so much, they keep having to come up with better
