this morning. and temperatures are starting to warm up a little bit. here's a live look now at the jersey shore from our camera in cape may. nbc 10 first alert meteorologist, glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with your most accurate forecast. hey, glenn. >> hey, erin, it's a beautiful-looking start to the week and we'll see several days that look like this. beautiful blue sky in the wilmington area now. we don't have any clouds close by. as a matter of fact, we don't have them pretty much until you go west of chicago. so, we are in a dry weather pattern with a lot of sunshine. we're already up to 50 degrees. the average high this time of year is 52. so looks like we're going to get there and beyond. 47 degrees in pottstown. we don't have a whole lot of wind today. as we go through the afternoon, temperatures well into the 50s in philadelphia, then dropping down into the 40 even upper 30s by 9:00 tonight in some of

all of those places will be getting into the 50s. we got the 58 beautiful degrees on saturday. even 53 yesterday with the cooler winds. about 53 today. 57 or 8 tomorrow up and near 60 on wednesday. the average high is 52. we're looking for any kind of cold air in the country. and we're really not seeing it. it's already 56 in washington, d.c. normally, we would be getting snow threats across the great lakes, it's 48 in chicago. 60 in st. louis. even bismarck, north dakota, at 42 degrees. so there is no cold air, real cold air, in the country. so the whole weather pattern would have to change for anything to be really a major change in our temperature pattern. see how dry it is in the east.

a new report finds many more americans suffer from arthritis than previously thought. researchers at boston university say current estimates are only based on doctor-diagnosed arthritis, but when they included patients with chronic joint pain, estimates were 68% higher. time to grab your ugly sweater and get ready for our area's most jolly holiday 5k. the jingle bell run is happening this saturday and benefits a great cause. here to tell us a lot more, sarah smith and 16-year-old alley bradley of west bradford who is battling juvenile arthritis. thank you both for being here. >> thank you for having us. >> sarah, tell us about the run and who this benefits? >> so the run is happening on saturday, december 2nd at the navy yard. tracking begins at 8:30 and the run starts at 10:00 a.m. the run benefits more than 54

checking out our nbc 10 headlines, it took firefighters in north philly about two hours to rescue a man stuck in a trash truck. they eventually pulled him from the piles of garbage in the truck's trash compactor. right now he's in critical condition at temple university hospital. it is still not clear how he ended up in the trash truck. congratulations are pouring in from around the world after prince harry and meghan markle
