all of those places will be getting into the 50s. we got the 58 beautiful degrees on saturday. even 53 yesterday with the cooler winds. about 53 today. 57 or 8 tomorrow up and near 60 on wednesday. the average high is 52. we're looking for any kind of cold air in the country. and we're really not seeing it. it's already 56 in washington, d.c. normally, we would be getting snow threats across the great lakes, it's 48 in chicago. 60 in st. louis. even bismarck, north dakota, at 42 degrees. so there is no cold air, real cold air, in the country. so the whole weather pattern would have to change for anything to be really a major change in our temperature pattern. see how dry it is in the east.

hundreds trapped in bali after a volcano erupted for the first time in more than half a century. the airport is closed because of the danger from spewing ash. thousands living near the volcano have been evacuated. nbc miguel almaguer has more on what's next. >> reporter: this morning, a massive volcano on indonesia's resort island of bali, spewing who ash clouds and stranding tens of thousands. mt. agong erupted sunday and is now sending white and gray ash, cascading down from more than 9,000 feet above the crater. the national agency for disaster management issuing a level 4 alert today, indicating the potential for another large eruption, forcing residents within a 6.2-mile radiuso and i travel. >> we have got no information because thesed indefinitely. so we don't know what the plan is.

>> reporter: dormant since the early 1960 mt. agung has been spewing ash with increasingesda but experts say heightened seismic activity is indicating the volcano is shifting and could blow at any moment. regular rain in the area has created a series of dangerous volcanic mud flows. water and volcanic debris flowing down the slopes of the island, known for its beaches and lush green interior. airport officials say more than 400 flights were canceled, stranding nearly 60,000 travelers. american derek duchenne, an actor from los angeles, says he traveled to bali to celebrate his birthday and could now be stuck there for days. >> people come here for honeymoons, weddings, you know, parties, just relaxing and it was a really happy moment to a really stressful place and now the airline said that the earliest it's looking like anybody is going to get out is on friday.
