lauren. >> the ban can go into effect even while challenges continue to be heard in lower federal courts. restrictions can now be placed on citizens from those eight nations, six of which are majority muslims. two federal judges blocked the latest version of the ban in october but those rulings are now set aside. now, you may remember, there had been different versions of this ban. this is the third attempt by the trump administration. it was rewritten after furious protests and legal challenges broke out over previous versions during the early months of 2017. this version of the ban allows travel restrictions on citizens from those eight targeted countries, even if they do have personal relationships with someone in america. live in the breaking news center, lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. our coverage of this breaking news on the travel ban continues on "nbc nightly news" with lester holt at 6:30 right after this newscast.

kelly endured several operations. the suspect is facing attempted murder charges. also new at 6:00, seth williams is no longer in the state of pennsylvania. williams was moved to a prison in oklahoma city. he's accused of accepting bribes from a businessman while in office. right now at 6:00, a philadelphia judge fires back at rapper meek mill and celebrities who are fighting to get him released from prison. she suggested he may have cheated on drug tests and questioned how good of a father he is. all of those comments came as the judge denied meek mills' latest request for bail. >> dee anna durante is digging

through the paperwork today. >> reporter: his lawyers say he's a threat to no one. supporters of meek mill have accused the judge in the case of abusing her power and holding the rapper for far too long on probation violations. she says he is a great risk to the safety of others. she also wrote that the defendant claims to be involved in his son's life but he doesn't reside in philadelphia county. the artist was arrested after a video showed him doing wheelies that surfaced on social media. he was using a dirt bike to sell drugs in 2008 and the latest arrest comes with an issue with a dirt bike. lawyers for meek mills fired back asking the judge to step aside saying that the fbi is investigating her for her behavior in the case.

the fbi is not confirming or denying any investigation but defense lawyers say if the judge didn't know about the federal investigation back in november, they are certain she knows about it now. lawyers did not go into specific details about what they know about this fbi investigation or how they came to know about it but they do s if the judge has knowledge of it, that alone should be enough to have her step aside.deanna durante, >> our coverage of the meek mills news continues. you can see the timeline of how the rapper ended up in jail. you'll be the first to know anything that develops in this case. >> police are investigating after two people were found shot to death inside of a motel. this was the scene a short time ago on governor's boulevard. within the last hour, the investigators arrived on the scene. both victims were shot in the head. no arrests have been made.

nothing happened to her. flynn lied and they destroyed his life. i think it's a shame. the president offered no evidence to support his claim that clinton lied to the fbi. as part of his guilt plea, michael flynn will work with the investigators looking into wll russia meddled in our last election. today, president trump officially endorsed a senate candidate who's been accused of sexually assaulting teenaged girls. today the president spoke to republican roy moore on the phone. shortly after that call, moore's campaign put out a statement thanking the president for his endorsement. last month the president said alabama voters must elect moore to keep a liberal democrat from winning. moore denied the allegations that he assaulted young girls. new at 6:00, pennsylvania's governor wants to develop a system for anonymously reporting sexual misconduct. governor tom will says he's trying to make the state capitol safer. he said he's heard of disturbing stories of threatening behavior against women and says victims

the snow scrapers and snow shovels to follow that. outside, we have a beautiful night. clouds have moved in. we have a little sunshine earlier today and we made it to 54 degrees. that's 5 degrees above where we should be at 49. no rain out there and high wind gust of only 10 miles an hour which explains why we had that fog this morning. the air wasn't moving around. it took a while to burn off. nothing showing up on doppler radar as far as rain here in the greater philadelphia area. you can see the clouds beginning to roll in all the way from berks county to the jersey shore. we'll see cloud cover tonight and tomorrow. now, the first of the showers, you can see, crossing the great lakes and crossing portions of northern pennsylvania and further to the west, a well-defined line right here of severe storms. some will produce large hail and behind that very clear air and very cold air because we have snow, significant snow across the northern plains.

ahead of that we break this down. mild air in place. ahead of that front, blue arrows behind it to indicate the colder air that will move in. let's break it down for you neighborhood by neighborhood. at 8:00, we're dropping into the 40s. winds generally out of the east. in the southeast, it's fairly mild. you wake up in the 40s. not the 30s where we should be. clouds in place and maybe an isolated shower across the area. by the time we reach the early afternoon, we're getting steady rain across berks county and lehigh valley. you may see a thunderstorm out there as well. there's enough lift in the atmosphere. we're not expecting severe weather here but there's a potential for an isolated thunderstorm to pop up. look at the winds streaming in from the south. very breezy and mild. by 9:00 tomorrow night, steady rain still ongoing.

the temperature is now risen to 60 degrees in philadelphia. and cold air moving in out of the west, thursday we make it only into the low 40s with sunshine and off to the west you don't see any green. you see white stuff. why is that? well, our warm air will depart. look at the next ten days. cold air continues to rotate across our area. our highs only in the 30s and 40s. and look at ten days from now, the temperatures across the area. we may only top out in the upper 20s and low 30s. it's going fto be fearsome. we're looking at 60 tomorrow and
