home. good morning. i'm erin coleman. they get the fire we are live thrs got here. we are told that a number of neighbors actually called 911 to report this large home completely consumed by fire. inside a family of five including three young children. firefighters found two young boys found dead and three others found alive. fire tightefighters battled the. neighbors say it took almost an hour to put this thing out. this neighborhood is grieving together. >> i woke to shouting outside

which is very unusual for our quiet neighborhood. so once i saw some flashing lights i came outside to see what was happening and saw the flames shooting up off the house. >> please pray for this family especially around the holidays but any time of year there is a horrible sttragedy. >> reporter: firefighters continue to deal with hot spots. state police remain on the scene. the cause of the fire is under investigation. eyou can see the know machines are up and running. meteorologist krystal klei is here with your most accurate forecast. >> we are getting the winter

sixth graders were told to make up a story about a drug addict and then draw their mug shots. some parents say it wasn't the right message to send about drug addiction. some say the assignment missed the mark. he said it was supposed to show addiction can happen to anyone. . now wild fires that continue to march towards santa barbara. it spread from ventura to santa barbara. california's fifth largest fire has consumed more than 230,000 acres and hundreds of homes. it is only 25% contained. the chief says they are making progress. >> we have firefighters in place at all of the homes. it is bringing the fire down to where we can access it and start putting direct fire line in that area.

>> officials say winds are expected to pick up and could cause flare ups. now to a story getting a lot of attention. a fire fighter apologized trying to save a california family's home. this is what they came home to on friday. the ceiling above their bedroom collapsed leaving huge chunks of dry wall on their if your honor dh -- furniture. san diego firefighter left an apology note. >> we started to go through the house and we found that note. i kept it. i keep it in my wallet now. the firefighter said sorry about the deal and ceiling. had to get in there to save the home. >> i didn't write the note for specific recognition.

right now a house fire in montgomery county has two children and injured other members of the same family. randy is live with moreinformat ran randy. >> reporter: yeah, firefighters dealing with conditions but it was a discovery they made that made this extremely tough. firefighters found the bodies of two young boys up on the second floor who did not make it out of the burning home. authorities also say a young girl as well as two adults were

found alive outside of the home. they were taken to a local hospital. it was happen at a house. the family of five is well flknn to the community. neighbors watched flames reach above the top of the family's house. this morning the community is coming together to grieve. >> the house seemed like it was engulfed. when i saw that i have been praying ever since and praying the family is all right. >> reporter: the three surviving family members include the young girl and two adults that are currently recovering. firefighters remain on scene. fire investigators spent the last hour digging through debris. they even sent a drone into the sky. state police investigators also here on scene. the cause remains under investigation.

allentown feeling like 14 outside. we have a strong wind gust around 30 to 40 miles per hour mixing in with an arctic blast of air. it has slumped a bit south. it has been able to pool over us. we are feeling that cold cold air. delaware feeling like 18 degrees. feeling like low 20s in areas like felton. the wind swipes along the coastline feeling very cold. this is at 4:00 in the afternoon. still feeling 15 to 20 degrees throughout the region. it won't get better as we go throughout the rest of the day. temperatures kind of plateaued.
