himself. police responded to reports of an active shooter when a gunman shot two of his colleagues at a holiday luncheon. two mean died at the scene including the shooter. the second victim managed to drive himself to a hospital where he is in stable condition. it appears to be workplace violence with a homicide investigation now under way. president trump is condemning friday's attack on coptic christians on egypt's capital. the president spoke with egypt's president after a gunman killed at least nine people including a police officer outside a kyrie church and a christian owned shop. the ministry say a man opened fire at the entrance and tried to throw an explosive device. the attacker was wounded by security forces and taken into custody. the islamic state group hashe attack but have provided no evidence so far. at the cotton bowl it was the ohio state buckeyes with a 24-7 win over the usc trojans but the highlight came before the game even started. as both teams gathered midfield,

nbc ron moss is following this for us from chicago. >> reporter: good morning. late last night nbc news confirmed that they arrested a 25-year-old in connection to this case. we're still waiting to get details but it's safe to say he is likely facing serious charges for something commonly known as a prank. it's called swatting. and it may have just turned dead by cam video of an officer shooting a man in the doorway of a home. authorities responded to the scene after a caller phoned in what officials say was false information. a man claiming to have shot his father then holding two relatives hostage. but there was no such emergency. 28-year-old andrew fench, a other of with police positioned around the house and was fired upon after ignoring instructions to keep his hands up.
