randy is live in new castle county to help us separate myth from reality here. >> reporter: it has become the routine. you wake up realize how cold it is. you hop in your car, start her up and it warms up for you. a lot of people think it helps your car run more smoothly. it turns out it is the smith from back in the days when cars needed to get it up and running. it is a myth. comesleaving it running in the cold could lead to theft. firestone says it could also strip oil from your pistons and waste gas. we caught up with a mechanic. he says he understands people want to sit in a warm seat and warp up their car. any mod erp car should be able to drive just fine about 10

and into sunday morning. we'll experience windchills that will range from 15 below up to 0. it will come to an end on sunday. sunday morning could start with record cold.oldestes go into sunday morning. the workweek starts off with a winter wintery mix. you can see the blowing snow coming off of the buildings downtown. it was in the single digits in the lehigh valley and the sur beens. -- suburbs. normally we would see a much faster warm up but it shows the power of the cold winds that are blowing and it's keeping temperatures from coming up at a normal rate. it is 16 degrees in lumberton right now. a cold start. a cold day and a cold next couple of days. the wind chill readings vice president budged. they are still below zero.
