feel about being your mildred hayes. her every ragged inhalation and fierce exhalation is evidence of my gratitude. our producer, graham broadbent, thank you for listening to me and valuing my input. to fox searchlight, who allowed our film to find its audience and we are still putting people in the seats of brick and mortar cinemas around the country. call me old-fashioned, but i love that. and have i mentioned my two favorite cowboys, sam and woody, because they are. then i will have to list the entire cast and crew of our film because everybody brought their best game to this one. the very best game. for instance, i cannot throw a baseball for --. across a two-lane street.

out against gender inequality, sexual harassment, and the pettiness that has poisoned our politics. and i'm proud that our industry faced with uncomfortable truths has vowed to change the way we do business. truth is powerful, and in a really good film, we recognized the truth about ourselves, about others, and it's so powerful that it can even change people's minds, touch people's hearts, and ultimately even change society, itself. this evening we've seen highlights from five really good films nominated for best motion picture drama. and once again, here are the nominees. >> announcer: "call me by your name." messy monday mix. we're getting you prepared for the next round of winter weather that could disrupt you tomorrow. still snowed in. one city hit harder than others hasn't been able to dig out yet. terminal flooded. travel comes to a halt at one of america's busiest airports. right now hat 11:00 weary getting you red for a messy monday mix, specifically your evening commute. it's the latest round of winter weather to hit us. good evening. thanks for joining us. i'm denise nakano. the cold is on its way out, but tomorrow a messy mix moves in creating a slippery monday afternoon and evening commute, and we're making sure you're ready for it. here's a live look at atlantic city tonight where neighbors there are still having a hard time digging out from thursday owes blizzard. tonight we've learned all schools in atlantic city are closed for tomorrow.

first alert meteorologist steve sauce sosna has more. >> this is not a clean snow storm coming in here. it's freezing drizzle and freezing rain and one of the worst kind of scenarios that you can get, especially during an evening commute. hence, we've issued this first alert for the entire viewing area going no effect at 11:00 tomorrow morning and expirg at midnight tomorrow night and for the potential of light snow, sleet and especially this, the freezing rain in and around the city and the nearby suburbs so any bridge overpass, on and off ramp, sidewalk could be slippery as you go through tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. the storm system that will bring us that freezing rain is out across missouri right now. there's a plethora of freezing rain advisories all the way into the atlanta metro area so this is a big storm, not necessarily a whopper in terms of accumulation totals but enough to cause a esin. this is the schuylkill

expressway camera, and i pushed this up for a reason. the schuylkill last weekend with a little bit of snow. freezing drizzle again could cause issues. it's 16 right now in philadelphia and 16 in the surrounding suburbs. waking up tomorrow morning, not an issue. the morning commute is a-okay, but notice at 11:00 tomorrow morning there's a band of light snow in the blue coming in our direction, and it's the pink that you really need to be concerned about. that's the freezing drizzle and freezing rain coming around 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 in the afternoon. coming up in just a bit, i'll walk you through the hour by hour, which neighborhoods are most concerned about the freezing drizzle and last point, a major warmup on the way. >> and as steve just mentioned, the timing of this latest winter weather has the potential to make a mess of the roads right as people head home for the evening commute tomorrow. nbc 10's drew smith is live in roxborough talking to drivers about how they are getting ready. drew? >> reporter: and denise, they are getting ready right now making sure their cars are ready and equipped to be out in these

kinds of elements. there's still snow out all over the place. add a thin layer of ice on there and it could make for really dangerous driving tomorrow. cars lined up all night for the air pump. people trying to get ready for another round of winter weather. >> how has this winter been for you so far? >> terrible, cold. >> reporter: this brutal stretch of cole has made everything harder from walking the dog to parking the car, but the possibility of icing precipitation for tomorrow negotiate's commute has people wondering how they will get home safely. >> they don't really salt down there. >> reporter: cars are coated in salt. you'll want more of that on the roads because the untreated areas will be the first to become slippery. >> it's scary and it's dangerous. you can slide through a stop stein. you have to be really very careful. >> reporter: tires already caked in snow and slush are struggle to stop on ice. aaa is recommending people take

it extra slow and break early once the snow starts falling. >> you can't tolerate in ice. >> reporter: dan is where he draws the loin. >> i don't get until 3:00, if it starts around noon or 1:00, i'm stuck up here. i won't drive in this. >> reporter: people are out salting their walkways and driveways. it could be a problem on the road for your cars and want to make sure nobody slips and falls in that weather. drew smith, nbc so news. >> thank you. atlantic city is still digging out from thursday's blizzard as more winter weather is moving. in atlantic city schools are closed again tomorrow after city leaders say there weren't enough resources to clear the roads and now state transportation crews this stabbed in. aundrea cline-thomas shows some of the conditions in those neighborhoods. >> reporter: khalid mohammed uses his car to pack down the snow on the unplowed street.

he's trying to create a path that will allow him to get out easily. he leaves for work at 5:00 in the morning. >> they have been out, but nothing has been done back here, and it's a shame. >> reporter: he's talking about the snow. saturday state transportation crews stepped in after atlantic city leaders acknowledged they didn't have enough personnel or equipment to clear the streets. >> we plan on working 24 hours a day each in these temperatures. >> reporter: we spotted crews removing mounds of snow near the texas avenue school, a priority especially since the lack of progress forced schools to remain closed again tomorrow, but some residents say their neighborhoods also need immediate attention. >> they only plowed the main streets they see fit. the rest of us got to suffer. >> the piled up snow taking up parking spaces and narrows roads. meantime, residents adapt as they navigate icy side streets. days after the storm ended patience is running out. >> do what they have to do so we

messy mix on the roads for your evening commute tomorrow. here's a live look now at the i-95 at the gerard point bridge. this is an area that could cause you problems tomorrow. meteorologist steve sosna has been talking about this for kays and now we know when it will disrupt the commute. >> one chute will be fine, the morning commute. may be patchy areas of black ice left over from last week's mess but no precipitation will be falling. the afternoon and evening community is a whole different story so we break that down in the weather headlines where there's cold and quiet weather through tonight and tomorrow morning. the tricky part about all of this is that this glaze of ice will develop likely around is being, 2:00, become in the afternoon depending on where you are. now that's tricky for the school to make decisions like this, so i don't know how those institutions will react to this, but i can tell you that there will be slippery spots on this untreated road surfaces tomorrow and tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening, and then our attention turns to a much needed
