troubled spots in new jersey and delaware. first alert traffic reporter jessica billionairi jessi jess boynton is tracking the roads for us. >> and we get a look at the lehigh valley and down the shore. let's begin with first alert meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> that's right. the types of precipitation that it is producing, there are several different types. first of all, it has stopped in the poconos and berks county and lehigh valley. it has not started at the jersey shore or parts of southern delaware and the pink area is freezing rain. that's the most dangerous type of winter weather.

4:02 pm
and to the west now, it's changed over to snow. again, farther to the north and west, we don't really have any problem. here we are in new jersey and we're getting some icing in mercer county, too. the wider view shows that this is a fairly narrow area. it's not going to last all night. the temperatures, of course, are critical. and even in philadelphia, we have temperatures below the 30-degree mark. and with the freezing cold that we've had recently, even a 32 or 33-degree temperature would cause problems and steve will tell you more about that. >> that's right, glenn. your car may show 33 or 34 degrees but the surface temperature may be colder than that. so don't just trust your car

4:04 pm

4:09 pm
