the areas or some of the areas around the northern western suburbs that have dried out at least temporarily. but there is still plenty of freezing rain in new jersey. and much of burlington county and camden and gloucester and salem and cumberland counties in new jersey just covered with light, freezing rain and farther to the south, it's just regular rain. cape may county, temperatures fine. southern delaware, you got pounded with a snowstorm. so you get a pass for this one. it's 31 in philadelphia and in the 20s north and west. so these are the areas, of course, that are going to have the greatest threat of any kind of icing and more on the impacts of what to expect tonight here with meteorologist steve sosna. >> that's right, glenn. some of the biggest concerns are your driveways and side roads.
6:02 pm

the sleet and it's now turned to ice. so this would be the time, if you're thinking about how to avoid this happening at your house, this would be the time that you want to very carefully maybe put some salt down on your steps, on your front porch, on your driveway to avoid this happening and avoid things getting even worse in the morning. we're actually right next to a walla here and we just saw someone come down and put salt down in the front where you go in the doors and put it down on the sidewalk and on the pavement there in the parking lot to try to keep things safe for people. so that freeze is setting in. live in northeast philly, lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. >> we saw how hard it is for someone to walk on the sidewalk. imagine how it is on the untreated surfaces. turning now to jessica boynton. >> with this kind of weather falling on freezing cold surfaces, it doesn't matter what you're driving, right? >> right. it doesn't matter what you're driving. someone always told me that if you have four-wheel drive, it
