flames at an auto body shop. a neighbor describes what she witnessed earlier this morning. >> it was like a big boom. i'm like i turned back over. i said my window is red. t window was hot. >> the neighbor ran and aloerted other neighbors. no one was hurt. paramedics rushed four people to the hospital last night. firefighters worked to keep the flames from destroying this family's home.

mystery. yesterday prosecutors announced murder charges against kauffman. she was found shot dead inside their home. they say the doctor hired a hit man to kill his wife after she planned to divorce him. dr. kauffman is already behind bars. this body camera shows him pulling a gun on the officers. those officers were there investigating illegal prescriptions. this is an ongoing case with many details. the nbc 10 app have a full profile and layout of the time line. check it out for all of the latest information.

we are following breaking news that will impact septa riders. a person has been hit by an amtrak train. it is right near the train. amtrak police are investigating what happens here. as soon as we get more video from the scene we'll pass it along to you on the nbc 10 app. . the morning we are also continuing to follow the number of flu cases on the rise. the flu is exploding across the country. the cdc is not calling it an epidemic but this seems to be the worst one in the last few years. we are live to tell you about

the up tick in cases in our area. >> reporter: doctors are expected to see more and more people with flu-type time sosym. this is what a widespread flu outbreak looks like. there have been more than 11,000 cases with bucks county reporting 349 cases in burkes. lehigh with 506 report cases. in philadelphia county there have been 236 cases of the flu. there have been 28 flu related fatalities. delaware is also experiencing widespread flu activity with 370 reported cases. in new jersey it is moderate. it is important to note that the flu season hasn't even reached its peak yet.

the big story is going from the brutal cold to the ball my weather. with these kinds of changes in the month of january you better believe there is a big storm involved with it. there is rain, wind and thunderstorms moving through the area. a real wet and wild day. with all of this here we had to issue this first alert. it is another one for the entire viewing area. it lasts from 4:00 p.m. friday through 10:00 a.m. on saturday. there is a chance we could extend this here. we could make the time earlier on friday and later on saturday. this is a very dynamic storm system. we'll have more later this evening and bill will have the latest with you at 4:00 a.m. bands of heavy rain, thunderstorms, potential for
