show us how. >> reporter: you see the huge hole at this bus stop here. there are so many service requests that the wait on the phone is two hours long. so the water department is opening up its twitter and facebook accounts. if you think you're seeing more city crews on water main breaks, you are. and they're working longer hours, at least 16 hour shifts to make up for the surge in breaks. check this out. the water department says it's had more water main breaks in the first two weeks of the year than all of last january. the problem stretches from north broad street to northeast philly. >> in about five separate spots there were water leaks coming out tof the cracks. >> reporter: he lived where a water main break covered the street in ice. the break impacted hid bed and breakfast. >> i wasn't able to make the turn to get into my driveway and

neither were my guests. >> reporter: and chris briefly lost water inside his home today. in the past three weeks the number of water main breaks fixed have at least doubled compared to this time last year. the water main opening up its social media to customer. >> customers should understand no one is ignoring you, no one is not paying attention to your call. >> reporter: it may take months before crews catch up on their backlog. and with the unseasonably warm weather coming at the end of this week and this weekend, they're keeping an eye on the thaw. but before that warmup arrives we have another coldn h night ahead. >> it's bitterly cold out there already. take a look at the numbers. 10 in lee high valley, 13 in the

tonight after she was shot at a bus stop. about 18 shots were fired just before 9:30. police are still looking for the gunman. now to an nbc 10 exclusive. tonight we've confirmed a man with ties to the jersey shore is featured in an isis propaganda video calling for attacks on u.s. soil. in the video which was released in may he urges lone wolf attacks against the united states. first reported by the atlantic. federal court records believed he traveled to syria and joined isis in april 2015. today we caught up with his mother. she says she's been troubled about her son spending time at an area mosque. >> he hates people. yeah, that mosque he hate it, and i say don't go to that mosque. >> he's a 2010 graduate of

atlantic city high school. his mother says she last heard from him one year ago. murder charges are filed tonight in the stabbing death of a penn student found buried in a california park. 20-year-old samuel woodward is accused of killing him while he was home on winter break. now detectives looking for evidence of a possible hate crime. investigators believe bernstein may have tried to romantically pursue his former high school classmate. today the city filed a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical companies that make the addictive drugs. leaders contend they use deceptive marketing. the city is seeking million tuesday repay costs associated with fighting the epidemic. medical marijuana took another major step forward today in pennsylvania. today the first medical marijuana dispensary in the state opened its doors.
