lockdown thursday morning. >> a gentleman running down the alley and two officers came in pursuit after him. they were shooting. one officer was across the street. they were saying officer down. shots fired. >> reporter: while issuing an arrest warrant, a man inside that same house fired shots at police. the 45-year-old christopher hill was killed. and an officer was wounded by gunman. >> this morning deputy hill made the ultimate sacrifice. >> we lost a brother far too soon. our community has lost a hero who was doing nothing more than his duty.

>> the suspect was killed during a figgunfight on mulberry stree. police have not released his name. i have an update on the other officer injured and shot. officer pittsburgh is at the hospital. he is expected to survive. there was a third officer here on scene. but he was not injured. reporting live, is steven fisher, nbc 10 news. montgomery county district attorney wants 19 women who accuse d bill cosby to be able o testify in his retrial. the da filed the paperwork this afternoon. he's accused of sexually assaulting ann dree e dree constand. a judge would only allow only one other female to testify. that trial ended in a hung jury. the new trial is scheduled to start in april. a new jersey doctor accuse ed in the murder for hire contract killing of his wife will remain behind bars.

that's the ruling from a judge today in mays landing. it is the first time james kaufman physically appeared in court in the case against him. last week he attended a hearing by way of a video conference. kaufman and ferdinand are acc e accused of hiring someone to kill his wife in 2012. investigators believe is she threatened to expose coukaufman drug operation he allegely ran out of his office. kaufman had to be moved to a different prison when an informant said ferdinand was going to have him killed. today in delaware county a judge ruled a case against a former police officer accused of sexually assaulting women while on duty will move forward. only we were there as albert arrived at a preliminary hearing this morning. he's accused of groping and sexually assaulting at least four women while in uniform. a shutdown is looming over washington, d.c. and republicans

kind of lucked out on that one. unless you like the snow, but they got 8 inchs of snow. we have a chilly end to the week here. it's cold today. it will be chilly tomorrow too. but a dry and mild weekend and by the time the eagles are playing, it's almost like a thanksgiving kind of weather. not january. we have temperatures near 30. elsewhere even with sunshine that's pretty cold for any time of the year. which got significant amount. several inches as well. in delaware, we did have an inch or so in some parts of northern delaware. that's pretty much gone. and it's 34 in green vul.

two teens owe their lives to a drone. it's the first time anything like this has happened in the world. the 16-year-old and 1-year-old caught got in a rip current off australian coast. a team of lifeguards launched the drone and drop ped a life raft into the water. those teens used it to get safely back to shore. pop the bubbles. stand up and pop those things. >> bath time in one household. this viral video, four kids watch in amazement as a tower of bubbles in the tub reaches the ceiling. the video was shared on facebook by the good husband movement.

flames hit the house along rodney avenue early this morning. several children are among the victims. and several of the victims r were from out of town visiting for a funeral. investigators now looking for the cause of that fire. in camden county, things are back to normal along the boulevard after it was closed down overnight because of a deadly crash. this is the scene at long the road just after midnight. a vehicle struck and killed someone on foot. police have not identified the victim. a married couple who runs a winery in the poconos is facing felony wiretapping charges after police say they secretly recorded customers and employees. officers raided the vineyard yesterday and took its owners into custody. they wanted to make sure employees were not stealing from them. double check your account. customers of one bank are discovering some dough is

and sunday. that's quite a change. we have sunshine out there now. so sunshine and only 35 degrees. that's a cold air mass. and we still have a little bit of snow, especially in some of the northern suburbs toward lehigh valley and berks county and the poconos. that helps keep the temperature down a bit. 30 degrees right now and parts of delaware that do not have any snow up to 36 degrees. let's take a look at some of these snow-covered areas with berks county and north hampton. it's 31 in reading. 27 in fleetwood. white hall at 29. easton at 29 degrees. these places well down into the teens this morning maybe close to the upper teens tonight.

it just won't be as cold. and it won't be as windy. you'll see these numbers already coming down a bit the sun gets lower in the sky. only 9 miles per hour in millville. we have seen much strong er wins during the day today. and you can see how dry it is in the eastern half of the country. there's the storm well offshore moving away. and we have some clouds back in the rockies, but the precipitation on the map is definitely a dry country now. and e despite how cold it is, this is how much warmer it was than 24 hours ago. 13 degrees warming in wilmington. 9 in philadelphia. the compared to this time yesterday. and then when we take it another into tomorrow, now we're going into the 40s. 43 at fair mount. these are the low temperatures. we're not seeing the teens like

we did last night and into. the morning except for reading, allentown, easton in the upper teens of getting into the mi mid-30s tomorrow. so still a chilly day in those areas that have the snow cover. but new jersey, robinsville at 41. newark and delaware at 44. the warm spot. now compare that to the numbers that we're going to e see the very next day. on saturday that's at 12-degree jump in philadelphia. and 11-degree jump in delaware. now sunday it is just about as warm. a little bit cooler in the jersey shore. for the game itself, we're talking about 50 degree kickoff. temperature. halftime at 48. and at the end of the game, 46. so it's really not that cold. even at the end of the game. remember last time we were
