we have you covered after the game. stay with nbc 10 for coverage all night long. breaking news out of harrisbu harrisburg. we have just learned a suspect involved in a shooting that left a u.s. marshal dead was wanted on warrants out of philadelphia. this is where it happened. mulberry street as marshals tried to serve a warrant this morning, they cuffed a woman, but a man inside the home opened fire. two officers were hit. u.s. marshal christopher hill died on mulberry street. a second officer is expected to be okay. the gunman was killed when marshals returned fire. >> refs running out the alley and down the street. officers came in pursuit after him. one was across the street saying officer down. shots fired. >> christopher hill was an 11-year veteran of the marshal service and a father of two. >> the list is out and today e

we learned philly made the first round of cuts in the race to land amazon's second headquarters. that's not all. pittsburgh and newark are also on the list. >> reporter: very exciting, especially since more than 200 cities placed bids. amazon whittled that down to 20. philadelphia is get. ing some help from leaders from all across the region who want to help sweeten the deal. >> there's more gas in the tank. we have refuelled. >> reporter: she's ready for round two with amazon. >> i found out from the texts and e-mails that came in congratulating us. >> reporter: philadelphia made a short list of retailers that it is considering. a.m. son was make iing the announcement public as it was notifying selected cities. it's a $5 billion investment that promises 50,000 high paying jobs. >> this is a company looking at growth. growth means you need good

talent that can be hired quickly. >> reporter: philadelphia plans to tout its graduate universities across the region. and development. google yards is among three sites they are offering. those factors will be more important. >> if we can prepare the land ready, we will get a lot more companies. >> reporter: the mobilization for amazon is is only the begin ing. officials across the region are getting behind philadelphia's bid knowing there are benefits. there's one nongaucnegotiable. >> they will be eagles fans. >> maybe if the eagles get to the super bowl that could be a part of the pitch. a.m. son is not releasing a lot of detalgs. they are going to make a final decision at some point this year. no matter what happens, this process is really changed the

game in how the city goes after big businesses. i'm told after amazon, next up could be apple's expansion. aundrea cline-thomas, nbc 10 news. new at 6:00, temple university is is moving forward with a proposed on campus football stadium. the university hopes to get approval from the city planning commission. the stadium has been a hot topic recently. temple's president says that $130 million stadium will help the economy. neighbors say it's just a way to kick them out. we need to work together. that was one of the messages from delaware governor john carney in his state of the state address. >> lawmakers while they might not agree on the solutions, they can agree on the goals. >> to make our economy stronger, our health care system more effective, our community safer, our state workforce strong and stable, our children more ready to compete for the future.

>> carney also says the state of delaware is strong and getting stronger, but acknowledge d there's still work to do. president trump is back in washington after he made a quick stop in western pennsylvania today. president trump spoke at the equipment company in pittsburgh. the white house stopped short of calling it an official campaign stop. but the president tweeted this morning he was come ing ing to support republican running for congress. once the president got on stage, he made tax cuts and the economy the focus of his remarks. back in washington, the clock is is ticking. congress has until midnight friday to pass a spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. it's unclear if republicans, especially in the senate, can get enough votes to keep things open. democrats say they will not vote for a quick fix spending plan. they want daca included in a deal. we spoke one-on-one today with philly e's new district attorney as he outlines the plan for the city.

he will hire an assistant to focus on immigration issues. this m kos after a major shakeup in the da's office. he fired 31 prosecutors when he got on the job. today he gave an update on the hiring process. >> at this point, we have hired approximately i would say 30 new prosecutors. we have actually hired more prosecutors than we have lost during this period of transition. how is it going? i think it's going wonderfully. >> krasner said change is needed in an office hungry for incarcerating people. the district attorney wants more of bill cosby's accusers to testify against him at his retrial. the da filed paperwork to allow 19 other women to take the stand. at his original trial the judgment only allowed one other female accuser to testify. cosby is accused of sexually assaulting andrea constand. that trial ended in a hung jury. the new trial is scheduled to

we're following some breaking news for you. sky force 10 live over this fire at around apartment complex in upper montgomery county. this is the regency towers on easton road. this complex is being e evacuated now. you see the smoke coming out of the windows. we have no word on any injuries at this fire in. montgomery county at this apartment complex. when you though the eagles are on the road to victory, you're looking live at the eagles nest cam at the link. it's lit. birds fans are hyped about sunday's showdown against the vikings. but all the excitement could come with a cost.

27 in richburo. there's no moisture close by. not even far away. so we don't have any kind of issues with rain threats over the next several days. tomorrow is a chilly day. high of only 43. but we have up to 36 today. so it's definitely going to be somewhat warmer. we have some areas that are chilly. then we jump up into the mid-50s. and not quite there in a couple other spots. but that's well above normal. nowhere near records. the records are in the 60s. at kickoff time, 50 degrees. temperature does not drop that much. because even warmer air is trying to come in for monday and tuesday. it is definitely unseasonably warm. you want to know how much snow we're going to get in the next week. that's a week from now. zero. how about that?

with arguably the best defense. >> whoever defense plays better. >> that's best in the nfl in 42 years. the eagles would argue they have the better defense. >> we know going into this game that whoever defense plays better is going to win the game. and we have been preparing, we won't change nothing we do. everybody goes out and be themselves. >> if we the best, we have to prove it. i u think that's our mind set this week is is to prove it and have more intensity than their defense. >> like to hear that. the eagles won the time of possession sunday against the falcons. they had good balance running and passing. nick foles mainly threw short passes and his teammates got a lot of yards after they caught the ball. against the vikings, the offense hope to take some more shots down the field. >> we're going to be able to take some shots. they played coverage where they try to keep everything in front
