game as underdogs again. both the team and the fans are bracing it and hoping to win another game and this time resulting in a trip to the super bowl. nbc 10 is your official station of the philadelphia eagles and we have you covered on the road to victory. the fans watching at home counting on us to bring you every angle now and after the game. josh is live on the field where you can already feel the electricity from the fans. >> you can hear it. it has been 13 years since the last home nfc title game. the eels fans have been waiting for this moment. another chance to go to the super bowl and former players from that last team to go to the super bowl. they couldn't wait either. take a look. remember the celebration when they beat the atlanta falcons 13 years ago? well, there are a lot of players from that team that came back into town to know what the fans

and see this city go crazy again for this team. i caught one chad lewis and david akers. they were tailgating with eagles fans. they said they had to be here for this. >> it's the nfc championship game. >> this is the philadelphia eagles. when we win, and there is a parade down broad street, we'll be right there rocking with them. >> we're coming back. what better thing do we have to do? >> if they end up winning, a little bit -- the fans are out here going crazy and toward bring it. a little win for them as well. >> amazing. it feels like a college atmosphere. and look at this guy. ron jaworski, honorary captain.

we take a live look outside lincoln financial field. all the fans are getting ready. the fans have been pouring into the stadium since the doors opened at 4:30. check out this time lapse as the seats were filling up. that's philadelphia's own the roots. and members of the armed forces

overseas will have to miss today's game because of the government shutdown but they will get to watch every minute. the armed forces are airing it through game pass. the sounds of drums on its way to lincoln financial field. a military guard marched from citizens financial park and across to the link where it will be stretched across the field for the anthem. and our live team coverage continues with laura in south philadelphia. and from undercover officers wearing biking jerseys to officers greasing street poles, police are out in full force. >> reporter: we are about two miles from lincoln financial field. this is the quietest we've seen the streets all day. let me show you what is waiting outside. the police have greased up light poles like the one with crisco

ahead of us. if you like 50s and near 60-degree weather, you will like monday and tuesday. tuesday comes at the price of showers and storms. chilly weather wednesday through friday but nothing like the cold that we saw earlier on this month. it is 47 degrees in philadelphia. we have the south southwest wind. notice how light the wind is. certainly a good aspect for the game here. we will not be looking at any strong winds. the temperature now, 47 in philadelphia. 41, 46 at the jersey shore. you will need zbrakt you're heading out. up to about 44 degrees as you leave the party and then through the overnight hours. a pair of gloves. if you're out celebrating late tonight, there could be some

drizzle north of the city but nothing heavy. you have to go to the midwest where the vikings fans are preparing for blizzard like conditions. 10 to 15 inches of snow as a major storm system comes in our direction. the southern part has tornado watches. and the two systems gelled together to bring us potential for heavier rain coming up on tuesday. so walking forward, you can see the greens are speckled and it is few and far between. don't be surprised to be hit by a few rain drops. temperatures popping up to near 60 degrees. now, tuesday gets ready. the reason? we'll have this line of showers and even some heavier thunderstorms why. ? temperatures, it looks like on tuesday, will spike into the 60s before the front passes on

through. and then back to the chilly stops. let's look at what we can expect. periods of rain turning windy. even some thunderstorms. there will be some travel delays. again, the temperatures in the lower 60s. it is a bit of a buffy ride. you can see 57. 62 tuesday with some heavy thunderstorms possible. 44 on wednesday. thursday is the chilliest day. then you can see as we head toward next weekend. another nice rebound in temperatures. 55 degrees. that's your outdoor day. sunday we'll be looking at storms in the upper 50s. coming up, hear from nick foles on how special this game is for him.
