between lawmakers produced a deal but not for long, only through february 8th. they agreed to give the republicans three weeks to address disaster relief, funding of undocumented immigrants in the u.s. >> it would be my intention to take up legslation the senate to address daca. >> the republican majority now has 17 days to prevent the dreamers from being deported. >> the bill now goes to the house where it is expected to pass. reaction from local federal workers. >> hey hey, ho-ho, this shut down has to go. >> reporter: on day three of the shutdown, federal workers marching in philadelphia. >> we believe our government is better and bigger than this. >> reporter: taking a toll on workers who don't know if they will get paid. >> we're supposed to get paid on friday. we'll see if that happens. >> reporter: on a deal through early february don't bring a lot

nbc10 news. this afternoon a big win for pennsylvania democrats after the state supreme court ruled to redraw the congressional districts. here's a look at the 18 districts currently. democrats long complained they were gerrymandered to benefit republicans. today, the court said it clearly violated the state's constitution and whole counties and cities were shifted into different districts. republicans have 13 of 18 seats besides democrats outnumbering republicans. a shooting out a pharmacy involving one of the police's own in millville. it occurred right outside this rite-aid. we don't have details but no a police officer was involved. the mayor of allentown allegedly trading contracts for cash to fuel his political

dreams. that's what prosecutors say was the motivation for ed pulllowski's pay to play scheme. steven. >> reporter: jim, the mayor's office is just across the street here in allentown at that tan building from city hall. he walked from his office to the federal courthouse the first time. here he is walking across the street. he arrived early. it was packed in the room starting with opening statements that lasted for a few hours. it was pay to play scheme between the mayor and scott ail lensby. it was about bribery and lies. and his attorney said he didn't do anything wrong and pointed out more than 400 contracts were signed during this period where pulllowski was investigated and

only six in court. it will take a while for the prosecution to make this list. they have a witness list with over 50 names. they have audio recordings of the mayor they plan on sharing and so far none played in court. the trial still going on upstairs as we speak. they're starting to wrap up day one in allentown. nbc10 news. more fallout today in connection with the former u.s. gymnastics dr. for sexually assaulting more than 100 girls. key leaders resigned. their careers were tied to this guy, larry nasser. meanwhile, more women confronted him in a michigan courtroom about the abuse they suffered at

his hands. >> in a statement you said, i am so horribly sorry. then why did it go on for 20 years. you're only sorry because you got caught. >> he has already been sentenced to 60 years in prison in another michigan county. he will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. happening now, jury selection in the case of a gunman accused of ambushing a police officer. police say he ran up to the officer and shot him last january. the wounded officer ran after asher and shot him three times. it is said he was not part of an islamic cell. the school district has

there is usually something to pay for it in the form of heavy rain or thunderstorms. that's what we're going to be seeing. it's 60 degrees right now in philadelphia. pretty close to that, a good bit of the area, lehigh valley in the low 50s, still way above average this time of the year. even though it's 60 in philadelphia international and fairmont and 59 in bus elton, and 57 degrees. if you think that's warm, 61 in pittsburgh, 55, cincinnati. we have more warm air to come in before it gets colder. a lot of these southerly winds. look at the backside of this, including minneapolis, getting snow. we're going from warm to cold in just one day.

here we go with some of the clouds advancing. there's one, the main area of showers and storms and we have another area in illinois with some thunderstorms now. it's a pretty vigorous system here. as we go through tonight, dry this evening and then we see some showers by the morning rush. that's especially lehigh valley, berks county. as we go through the morning, the later we go through the morning the more widespread this is. thunderstorms in parts of the area, 9:30 to about noon would be the peak of it, in and around most of our area, mercer county area, through philadelphia, into northern delaware, not the most during the rush in lehigh valley berks.

we have the greatest threat, heavy rain and strong gusty winds, much lesser chances of other types of severe weather. we could see wind gusts up to 40 to 45 miles an hour parts of the area, around 10 or 37:11:00 tomorrow morning. once again, not in the morning rush. we will go from 64 to 44 to 38 thursday and then we warm up again as we go to the next weekend with more showers and storms as we cool down a little bit after that. >> all right, glenn. the question, where were you when the birds won last night's big game? >> a lot of fans got a late start to their day after a really big celebration. the city has never been happier. still ahead at 4:00, how fans are keeping the party going all the way to minneapolis. plus, the grocery store of

boy, did it get warm, 66 in dover, delaware, much cooler at the beaches because of that chilly ocean. they don't get to join the rest of the area in this mild weather. it will be another day of mild weather, a few hours in northeastern pennsylvania, the main action through ohio, not strong but widespread. our chance of getting some rain tomorrow is pretty close to 100%. not this evening, though, looking basically dry. by tomorrow morning's rush, lehigh valley, berks county, you're looking at potentially heavy rain and even thunderstorms. it will take a couple hours for even the leading edge of that to get to philadelphia, trenton, wilmington. these areas in yellow and red
