down, it's really going to start feeling a lot colder. the coldest part of our area, the pocono mountains, but they like it cold. you can make snow every night and they are going to get natural snow next kweweek. we have sunshine in delaware. 36 degrees is all we can do with all that sunshine. that's below normal for this time of year. reading at 34. but we still have wind and so it feels like it's in the 20s across most of the area. 28 degrees in philly. 24 in reading. now this wind is going to be diminishing. so by 9:00 the feels like temperature will be the same. that's because the wind is no longer a factor. but as you can see, the temperature goes down plenty low enough. by 5:00 a.m., it's 25 degrees. it will be warming up significantly as we head to the

the owner of the firm that owned the tax collection contract says she worried about losing that contract after she refused the request for a campaign donation. the contract was eventually given to another company. he's accused of trading campaign donations for other city contracts as well. a freak accident left an 80-year-old woman dead after a delaware county hospital. that's when one of the cars rolled on top of her in the process. leaders in atlantic city are taking steps to make the resort town immigrant friendly. council members held a news conference to watch a campaign a fair and welcoming city. members of the council and faith loaders came together to stand in solidarity. >> the community has always been there. in the back of our minds guiding every decision we make.

looking at replacing traffic cops with regular people. they introduced a resolution to call for hearings on the matter. the goal is to loosen the traffic log jam on some of the busiest streets by using civilian officers. those officers could issue traffic citations but would not carry weapons or be able to make arrests. >> the reality is that the traffic in the city of philadelphia has gotten to aen point where it is utterly ridiculous. on a daily basis at any point in time, we don't address it, we allow it to continue to clog our streets. >> the move would also let police officers focus on criminal investigations. new york, l.a. and baltimore use civilian employees to manage traffic. the fiery reputation of some eagles fans could cost them if

they are looking for a place to stay for the super bowl. this was the scene sunday night as birds faithful swarmed center city to celebrate the win over minnesota. some vikings fans weren't happy with the way they were treated in philadelphia. now they are apparently taking action. according to reports, some minneapolis residents who use airbnb are being told to not rebt they homes to eagles fans for the super bowl. >> do we have a place to stay? >> one social media post claims the homeowners association ordered a renter to cancel a booking with the birds fan. it cites concerns about the post game violence and vandalism following the nfc championship game. now a consumer watch group released a report detailing extreme price gouging during super bowl weekend. a throw-night stay would normally cost $311. the same three-night stay during super bowl weekend is likely more than $15,000.

right now at 4:30, the flu epidemic has gotten so bad it's forcing a local hospital to pitch tents outside to create more space for sick patients. the sickness surge is unlike anything one hospital has seen in nearly a decade since the h1n1 virus. >> miguel martinez-valle is live outside the hospital in allentown. give us a look at the impact of the epidemic. >> reporter: that's right. they are saying it's very bad. it's not an emergency yet, but they are seeing way more people than usual. and that's what led them to set up tents in the parking lot outside of the emergency room. something they haven't done in

years. >> our er's were full. we wanted to off load them. >> reporter: too many patients, not enough beds. something is going around this year sending more people to the hospital than usual. >> a lot of winter illnesses including the neurovirus. >> it's not just the flu sending more people to the hospital. doctors say they have been treating patients with all kinds of illnesses, which is why they decided to build these tents. some hospitals set up military-style military tents in 2013 after a spike in flu cases. this year's flu is causing people to get even sicker. >> it's got to do with the strain. it doesn't seem to be a strain that's causing people to be more sick than previously. >> reporter: the tents are popping up across lehigh valley hospitals. they are fully equipped with everything normal hospital rooms would have. patients with more severe cases will be treated inside. >> if. we expect they are going to need admission to the hospital, we will try to keep them inside. >> reporter: things to look out for to know if it's time to

the surge in flu cases have people scrambling to get a vaccine. the chance of suffering a heart attack is six times higher within the first week of getting the flu. the risk was highest for older adults. medical experts say if you think you have the flu and have a heart condition, don't wait to get checked out. it could soon be easier to access your medical records at all times. apple is testing a feature to let you download those records in iphone or apple watch. they would be store on the health app to show them to a doctor when needed. the feature is available for penn medicine and more facilities are expected to join in the coming months. nonprofits looking to make a difference can get help to meet their goals through a new program that's taking applications now. we are partnering with the universal foundation to support project innovation and give away
