to obtain a scholarship. they're all need-based. we issue them by random lottery. there's no fee to apply so families need to go online as soon as possible, csf philadelphia.org, fill out a very easy online application and then you're entered into this lottery and the deadline is march 1st. we typically receive around 10,000 applications, but unlike the state lottery you have a really good chance to win. it's basically a one in five. and if you don't win one year you can reapply. but i really encourage families because what i've seen in our program is that when kids have access to quality schools, k through eighth grade, we've been tracking them, they go on and graduate at a high school grades of greater than 96%. most importantly they graduate at grade level so that they're ready for college. >> what's really important to

across the region. we don't have any significant differences other than in the actual temperature. go to berks county, lehigh valley, the warmer spots hopewell at 37 right now, landon at 36, white hall is 37. nazareth at 32 degrees. as we go through the afternoon, we're going to find a lot of sunshine, temperatures getting into the 40s in much of the area. but not really dropping very much as we go through the night. little bit of a southerly wind preventing that from happening. now we're saturday morning, it's again generally in the 30s. not too bad for a start to the day. southwest wind warms us up into the 50s during the afternoon. still sunshine across much of the area. the clouds are starting to come in to berks and lehigh. and now here comes the rain.
11:52 am
it could reach the berks and lehigh in the poconos before midnight. it would be on the light side and you can see it's nowhere close tony kind of snow or ice. and then by sunday morning much of the area is seeing a steady rain. although it may be ending already in berks and lehigh. you're getting it to come in first, it's going to get out of here first. and a little bit heavier rain farther to the south. watch what happens here, it slows down the progress and so there are more hours of rain in delaware and south jersey than we're expecting north and west. but that moves out eventually by sunday night. by monday, we're starting off with sunshine again and then we're watching this upper air system from the west coming in later monday night and into tuesday. at the moment it's not looking especially heavy but we'll have to see if there's any kind of

intensification as it goes offshore. see a little bit darker blues towards long beach island there and then it really gets cold again on tuesday and into wednesday. over the weekend, we're seeing temperatures way above average. the average is 40. 57 in philadelphia on saturday, a lot of sunshine, and especially in the morning, and no rain. sunday is the wet day, but the fewest hours of rain in lehigh valley, greatest numbers of hours coming up toward the jersey shore. if you're traveling to minnesota it's not going to be that cold this weekend. but by the end of next week that's when the arctic blast comes and we're talking about highs in the single digits and low temperatures reaching about 5 below zero by the time we get to the super bowl itself, single digit temperatures, wind chills below zero.
