"early today" starts right now. >> good tuesday morning. i'm frances rivera. >> and i'm phillip mena. the markets are in for a rough start this morning after a record breaking plunge on monday. the dow jones closing below the 25,000 mark after losing nearly 1200 points, the largest single day drop in history. the massive decline continues the slump that began last week amid worries of higher interest rates. >> despite the massive loss the president says the president's focus on the country's long term economic health. tracie potts joins us now with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the president says this is a blip on the radar of a strong economy. speaking in ohio last night, he talked about jobs and manufacturing. >> we've already created nearly

2.6 million jobs since the election, including more than 200,000 new jobs in manufacturing. we love manufacturing. we're bringing back those four magnificent words, made in the usa. [ applause ] >> reporter: the white house says the president is taking the long view on this. sarah huckabee sanders, the white house spokeswoman, says that the president is focused -- his focus is on long-term economic fundamentals, remaining exceptionally strong, with the strengthening of u.s. economic growth, historically low unemployment and increasing wages for american workers. she talked about the tax cuts and reforms enhancing the economy. but a lot of economists and analysts are saying that while the president took credit for the big rally on the stock market, he's also now going to have to take responsibility as it starts to fall. we'll see what happens when the

virus classified as type a, the predominant and most severe, but there are also type b strains so even if you get sick with one, you can still get infected with the others. >> once you've gotten one strain of the flu, you are protected from getting that exact strain again. after awhile, once your immune response sort of slows down a little bit, you are still susceptible to catching one of the other three strains. >> reporter: that means if you got the flu and were not vaccinated, you still need to get the flu shot. >> all right. >> reporter: in oklahoma city, the department of health is making it easy with the flu shot drive through. in a nearby town, schools have shut down after so many students were out sick, some for the second time. >> what's scary for us is they're young, young children, kindergarten, first grade, second grade. those classes have really been hammered, hammered severely. >> doctors say it's not too late to get a flu shot and they recommend washing your hands 06r7b. >> now to that new intrigue of

direction. today, it's the westbound side off the 130th street station. and witpan road. and drive times eastbound from 29 an eight-minute trip, speeds in the mid-60s. breaking news in philadelphia's oxford circle neighborhood. philadelphia police say a car crashed into and killed a woman crossing roosevelt boulevard. the car hit the victim with such force she came out of her shoes at the large street intersection. investigators say the driver of that car does not have a license but did stop to talk with police. authorities have not provided us with the names of anyone involved. ♪ at 13 miles broad street is philadelphia's longest straightaway. it may only about 100 feet wide. but we'll find a way to make room. for everyone.
