route. the eagles will leave the linc atç 10:45 and head to the star of the parade at broad and pattison. the art museum steps and that's where miguelmartinezñr ist(b l. miguel, what's happening out there now? >>reporter: a lot happening out here right now. take a look behind me at theç steps of the art museum. you can see a stage going up there. this is where the parade's going to end and the second part of the celebration honoring the eagles is going to start at 1:00 p.m. and, again, they're callingç ts a celebration, so it's not just a parade, it's a two-part thing and a lot is happening to sipt for it. you see audio equipment over é-the streetokñi too.g up down a lot of workers out here getting ready. has been waiting for for years. so the route, again, like you said, it's going to start over by the stadium, go up broad and all wait down parkway to the heart museum.

freezing out, 33 in philadelphia. it's cloudy everywhere. most of the rest of the area is below freezing. we're going to get up, well up into the upper 30s to near 40 today. so the roads are not going to be super cold like they have been in some of our other storms that we're getting. you can see the clouds across the area, few snow flurries up to the north that has nothing to do with this system that's coming in. and the moisture building up along the gulf coast, more back in the central portion of the country. now let's go in detail and see not only what's going to happen with the weather but the temperatures because, again, that's going to have an impact on how slippery or icy any of these surfaces are during the day tomorrow. now, by tonight we are below freezing, pretty much from philadelphia northward and way below freezing lehigh valley and berks. 4:00 a.m. we're starting to see

the precipitation coming in from the west. borderline temperatures in philadelphia and wilmington. but as we go into the rush, not only does snow come in and temperatures below freezing, but you see these darker colors indicate kind of a heavier snow. this is enough a snow to reduce visibility, make driving difficult there and also to accumulate on untreated surfaces spot we're going to see some snow accumulation tomorrow. now, at the same time that's happening it's just raining in much of delaware and south jersey. and then as the morning goes on, the warmer air's coming up and changing that snow to an icy mix northern, western suburbs. just rain in philly and it's still snowing in the lehigh valley. by 1:00, look at the temperatures, in the 50s just to our south. this is heavy rain in the yellows an oranges, in the northern/western suburbs. you've got snow accumulated, then heavy rain on top of that.

in allentown it may be changing to rain as well. 4:00 it's still raining across the entire area and temperatures again very mild to the south, still pretty chilly up to the north. so we're going to have to keep an eye on those temperatures in the lehigh valley, berks county. that's what the neighborhood weather is all about during the day tomorrow because it's going to be a close call as to how long this lasts. in general, the amounts of snow falling, not very large in the philadelphia i-95 corridor but we could easily get a couple of inches to the north and west and you're going toet morehe north . for the parade, thaufall of tha gone. we're having dry, chilly weather all day tomorrow -- or. we heard you. a trip to the theater may be easier than ever this week. coming up, theeara debuting in more people interested in the arts. -if you told me a year ago where i'd be right now...

millions will once again pack philadelphia streets thursdaytor celebrate their super bowl champions. this morning the city is laying out plans to make sure this is a super smooth party for fans and everyone involved. let's check back in with nbc 10 miguel martinez. ease live at the museum of art where the parade will end and the celebration will begin. preparations already underway out there? >>reporter: yeah. i'm standing on part of the preparations. i'm actually on the stage where the ceremony part of the two-part celebration is going to

many as 500,000 people down into the city and back to their homes. there are three major takeaways for saept. one u number 1 the market-frankford lines and broad street lines are going to be your best bets because they're the highest capacity for septa as lol as they' well as they're going to be free after. you're going to need a pass. septa plans to sell tho regiona stations and they're only going to be operating out of select stations on a limited station basis. had is also so septa can increase capacity and that they can run trains like express trains. there is going to be very limited parking. the stadium parking in souththa completely closed as well as there's only a limited couple hundred spaces in some of those regional rail stops. septa is advising if you can be dropped off at the regional rail or at the or the broad street line, that's going to be your best bet.

we heard a little bit about some of the flans from septa's general manager a couple minutes ago. >> we're selling 50,000 independence passes. we've reduced the cost of these. it's a normal day pass, we've reduce today from $13 to $10 and these will be accepted all day. >> reporter: now this 50,000 limit pass item there are is one of the ways that septa plans to control how many people are going to converge on the platforms. you'll remember in 2018 when the phillies won the championship there was some chaos and overcapacity problems and people waiting for hours on september april platforms. this is one of the ways that they're hoping to control that. also keep in mind, only 500,000 people can ride in on septa and then right out on septa if the if you need information they're saying their app is going to be limited but septa.org is going to be your best bet. back to you in the studio. >> all right.

this is one of the places that will warm up the most, this is the beach in delaware, be in the 50s down there by tomorrow afternoon. but the first alert for the snow and ice mainly for our pennsylvania counties, also northern delaware especially around wilmington and newark areas. wednesday 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. all thot wintry weather may last beyond that up in lehigh valley and berks county. splipry roads, hazardous morning commute across a good bit of that area that is under the first alert. some clouds all fld here but the main precipitation still a long way away. we're not going to have any risk during the evening hours tonight, it's by the time you get up tomorrow morning. so 11:00 tonight everything is quiet, but at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow it's not so quiet. we've got snow and not just snow, accumulating snow. these darker colors indicating that it's not just light precipitation.

and rain down to the south. eventually we're getting warmer air coming up and that's what makes this forecast a little bit trickier. and of course the temperature is going to be very critical, it's going up well above the freezing point during the day today and much of the night will stay above freezing. so the temperatures are going to have to be watched hour by hour during the morning tomorrow. more on exactly what to expect tomorrow and for the parade coming up. happening right now, traders are watching wall street after the dow suffered its worst single day loss in history. this is a live look right now at the new york stock exchange. the big board, you can see the dow down 140 plus points right now. yesterday it closed down nearly 1200 points. nbc sue herera is here to tell us more about that record loss and what's happening right now. hey, sue. >> good morning. volatility is really the watch word for today. the low of the trading session today we were off about 567

points. then we turned right around and we moved into positive territory briefly. as you mentioned, we're down about 187 points, actually now 138 points on the dow jones industrial average. the market has basically had a 1,000-point range today from the low to the high. so far this year, we're off about 2%, but we're only four trading days into this month. so we will see how it goes, but volatility, i would expect that to continue. if you're a long-term investor, this is a time maybe where you want to take a look and get some stocks that have been hit hard and maybe are on sale. if you have between a five and ten-year time horizon. we'll see. >> we're also expecting several economic reports today. how do you think that will affect the market? >> you know, interestingly enough, normally those would be dig drivers for the market. but right now they're not paying all that much attention to the economic reports unless it's way

will actually strip down for a great cause. it's the annual coupe pid's under did i run in philadelphia. sandy is the race director and she's here with david. they both have children with neuro fibroma tose sis or ms. telling us about this under did i run. >> it's a fundraiser for the children's tumor foundation which is the largest nonprofit dedicated to this disorder. it's a four-hour party way brief run in the mid spot we're inside most of the time and in the milled we head out for a short run up dund the street and come back and continue to party. >> and the proceeds go to support this, correct? >> the children's tumor foundation, correct. >> tell us about your son owen and how he's doing. >> my son owen was diagnosed at age 2, he's not 13 and he's had his challenges. he went through 58 weeks of chemo for a brain tumor, two brain surgeries, countless mris but right now he's stable.

so that's all i can ask for and that pales in comparison to what this guy has gone through. >> your daughter maddie also battling. how's she's doing? >> it's a struggling every day. she's 19. she was diagnosed when she was 2. she's had three major brain surgeries, three bouts of see chi mow, huchbs mris and doctors appointments. when i leave here today we're going to get ruflts her mri. >> swhwhy is it for people to c out and support this run. >> mf is more important than you might think, it happens 1 in 3,000 people and that's why it's important to support events to not only raise awareness of the disorder but also to generate funding for research. >> is that what you're hoping by doing this, just to get the word out, let people know about this disease? >> yeah. it's to interact with the community, create an awareness, like sandy said, or and help raise funds and awareness so we can stop this horrible disease.

>> thanks so much for all your doog. the coupe pid's dund u under did i run is happening this saturday february 10th at noon. for more information head to our website nbc10.com or check out the nbc 10 app. >> announcer: now your nbc 10 first alert weather. well, i've got one of those storms coming tomorrow. we're going to are different types of precipitation in different parts of the area at different times. that's why we do neighborhood weather, the neighborhoods are going to have different weather tomorrow. pennsylvania neighborhoods, northern delaware are going to have probably the most problems during the morning rush. 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in general, but lehigh valley, berks county will probably have problems beyond 10:00 a.m. slippery roads and walkways, a hazardous morning commute. right now temperatures are still below freezing, north and west 30 into allentown, 29 in

reading, 22 in mount poconos. the poconos are going to get a significant amount of snow out of this tomorrow. and you can see the clouds coming across the area, the moisture building up down south, that is what is moving up this way. so there's going to be a fair amount of moisture, but the warmer air is coming up too. as we go through the night tonight, it doesn't cool down that much, so it's going to be kind of borderline with temperatures. so a lot of the treated services faye may just be wet around the philadelphia area into wilmington, unless the snow is coming down hard enough. and it may very well do that. perhaps not right at the start. the darker colors indicate the heavier snow. and now we're talking about that. at 6:30 a.m. temperatures marginal again near the i-95 corridor but well below freezing north and west. if you're in those areas that normally get a little bit more snow and ice, then you get in the city, you're going to be

affected by this tomorrow. farther to the south it's just going to be rain. rainy day and the temperatures are going to warm up there. more snow to the north as you can see the philadelphia changes over by about 8:00 in the morning. and then by 10:00 we're getting a little bit of an icy mix in that area. pink by noontime, this is heavier rain, the yellows and the oranges and warm air down to the south. look some of these temperatures way up in the 50s while we're barely above freezing in allentown. big, big changes going through the area. and then wednesday night we dry out, that sets us up for the cold but dry day on thursday for the parade. now, here's the bottom line of what to expect. it's mostly snow from the upper portion of bucks county, western montgomery, northern chester through the lehigh valley, berks county. snow and ice change to rain

across the i-95 corridor and the suburbs and mostly rain farther to the south. the amounts of snow at least 5 plus inches at the poconos and a couple of inches north and west of philadelphia. not much accumulation around philly, but we're going to be seeing some of those slippery conditions for perhaps a couple hours, 6:00 to 8:00 a.m. is the problem. but by thursday it's all dry. it's cold, though. you've got to prepare for that. we'll be right back.

about the eagles championship celebration on thursday. city leaders, event planners and septa gave updates just within the last few hours about plans for the day. the city is calling it a two-part celebration, a parade begin agent 11:00 at broad and pattison and then a ceremony at the art museum at 1:00. millions are expected to head downtown for this historic event and driving is going to be difficult so septa is providing free rides on the broad street, subway, and market-frankford el all day on thursday. you can watch it right here on nbc 10. and good weather on thursday, wednesday not so much. >> and it will be cold, the high temperature for the day only 34 on thursday. so you're going to have to bundle up for that. tomorrow is the weather problem with that wintry mix in the morning changing to rain. thanks for watching nbc 10 news at 11:00. i'm erin coleman with glenn "hurricane" schwartz. we'll see you at 4:00. have a great day. you've worked hard. busted tail.
