you're looking at a storm system moving our way bringing snow, sleet and freezing rain to areas across our region. good evening, i'm jacqueline london. what you see from the storm and when will depend on where you live. the poconos and the lehigh valley will see the most snow from the storm system. here's a live look at camelback mountain ski resort. here in philadelphia, expect a mix of freezing rain and sleet. and because of the timing, that could make for a very slick commute to work and school in the morning. first alert meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here to break down the timing of that storm and what to expect in your neighborhood. >> we have been pretty fortunate with the timing and the worst of the weather not occurring during the rush hour. but we have seen differences here and this storm is going to be different. the worst of the storm is going to be right during the morning rush. that's why we have a first alert out for the snow and ice for the

upper pa suburbs, western chester county, western montgomery, upper buck. s, lehigh valley, berks county. this is 4:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. this could last for quite a number of hours. 2 to 4 inches of snow, plus freezing rain. it's going to be a mess. and closer into philadelphia including the suburbs and northern delaware, 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the worst, the snow, sleet, freezing rain, icy roads and walkways and sidewalks. untreated surfaces especially having problems in the philadelphia area. here's the moisture. it continues to build coming across tampa bay and into kentucky now and as we go through the night tonight and into tomorrow, here comes the snow just in time for the morning rush. the darker blue colorsing heavier snow. that's accumulating snow and that's going to cause some problems. how much snow and when it's going to get out of here, coming

up. our team of meteorologists will be tracking this system throughout the night and into the morning. but you can get the latest information on nbc 10 or the nbc 10 app. also be sure to tune into nbc 10 news today at 4:00 a.m. first came the win, now comes a super bowl sized celebration. plans are in place to celebrate the eagles first ever super bowl title and the city is preparing to welcome the 2 million fans or more expected to cheer on the birds this thursday. sky force 10 flew over the route giving us a bird's eye view of the path the champions will take. the celebration will start at 11:00 a.m. the caravan of players will head north on broad street and into center city on its way to city hall. then it make a left around city hall before turning on to jfk boulevard past love park.

then the parade will zip along the parkway toward the philadelphia museum of art. the parade will be kapd off with a huge celebration on the museum steps. that ceremony is scheduled to begin around 1:00. >> those of us who were born in philadelphia, raised in philadelphia and suffered and celebrated over the years, nothing matched what we saw on sunday. so congratulations to the eagles. >> 14 jumbotron screens will be spread out along the parkway to ensure fansen don't miss any of the festivities. lauren mayk is live along the parade route where some local businesses are really hoping to cash in on this celebration. >> reporter: remember these fans are going to be out for hours lining up in spots like this on broad street to see their team. they are going to get hungry, they are going to get thirsty and they will be in a good mood.

that will be a familiar sound here this week just off the parkway where the eagles will end their parade and a magical season. >> are you going to be in here working or sneak out there to take a look? >> i'm going to be both. >> he's a big fan and wants to see the champions. >> this is going to be big. >> reporter: he's getting ready for the crowd. >> it's going to be cold. so i want everyone to come in and rest a little bit. but also i'm going to have a tent outside. and hot dogs. >> reporter: along the parade route, not all businesses are expecting a boost. at alex auto tags, they are closing for thursday knowing it could be tough for customers to get here. >> i don't think any customers that day want to do stuff here. >> reporter: farther south on broad, the classic pub plans to

be open. >> i have a full schedule already. >> off full schedule on parade day? >> do they know it's parade day? >> yes. >> all eagles fans. >> they may have a pretty good idea. the classic pub has a great view of south broad street. that's a good thing for eagles fans whose working here on thursday and talked to us in the nick foles eagles t-shirt hen can't give up. >> i bought it on saturday. i haven't took it off yet. i slept in it on saturday night. don't tell nobody. >> reporter: he's going to need that t-shirt on thursday. we found another business here along broad that is really prepping for the big parade. the philly pretzel factory here at broad are hoping to make 10,000 pretzels. they have extra flour and extra workers to get the job done. i'm lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. >> they were making underdog pretzels. they are going to have to come up with the top dog version of those pretzels. watch the entire parade of

savings likely regained some ground late this afternoon after a roller coaster day. the dow jones average ended 567 points higher. george spencer is live in the breaking news center. a sigh of relief at least temporari temporarily. >> it really is. the first five weeks of this year saw huge gains for savers. people who are looking towards retirement or planning to send a kid to college, the recent drops erased all of those gains. that is until this afternoon. today's late afternoon closing bell on wall street was a sound of relief for investors for the first time since friday. the dow notching gains of more than 2%. the s&p up nearly 2% after a huge drop last week and the largest point drop for the dow yesterday. financial adviser rob wilson says painful pullback has been a long time coming.

>> you're ripe for a pullback when you have seen the market be so strong. the markets have more than doubled since the financial crisis. >> reporter: he sees concerns rattling nerves after months of markets marching higher and high er. there's worry about political drama in washington surrounding the budget and debt ceiling. interest rates have also been ticking higher. and then there's the issue of wage gains. the good thing for american workers, but a growing expense for the company's traded in the stock market. it's a lot to think about, but wilson insists most savers should stay disciplined and keep doing what they are doing. >> unless you're on a short-term horizon, if you're contributing to that 401(k), especially if you're getting a match from your company, keep doing the same thing. don't change it up at all. >> reporter: the fundamentals of the economy are strong,

especially for. the u.s. unemployment rate sits at historic lows. and on the whole, many economic observers actually think the massive selloff was probably a good thing. realigning the markets and at the end of the day, the dow had already e regained about one-third of its losses. live in the breaking news center, i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. pennsylvania governor tom wolf's budget proposal is calling for no sales or income tax increase. he wants to rely on a natural gas tax. the governor started his speech with a nod to the eagles. then he focused on his budget. it is the fourth year in a row he's tried to impose one. he wants to raise the minimum wage and spend more on schools and the fight against the opioid crisis. he says the gas tax would help make that happen.

>> septa is hoping to avoid pedestrian gridlock. remember septa's capacity is 500,000 people. now let's go across the river who has more plans. >> turning 70 years old. i have waited a long time. >> reporter: he's got his seats and could accompany 80,000 parade goers. they are limiting the stations to four in new jersey and one in philly. >> i think that would be good. they have a straight run and don't have to worry about stopping. >> reporter: between 6:00 a.m. and 1:20, you can get direct nonstop service westbound to ninth and 10th, but only from woodcrest, ferry avenue or broadway. they switch to eastbound service from 1:20 to 8:00 p.m. you'll leave from 9th and 10th but the trains will stop at all four south jersey stops. >> we can move about 10,000 ab hour. be running the schedule for eight hours at the maximum. so about 80,000.

follow ed by sleet and freezing rain causing a lot of slippery roads. 10:00 a.m. at the worst. some areas it will improve by 8:00 a.m. snow, sleet, some freezing rain. especially untreated surfaces will be in bad shape tomorrow morning for a period of time. here's some of the moisture that continues to build hour by hour coming through the south. and moving up this way. and as we go through the night tonight, temperatures drop below freezing in the suburbs. here comes the snow. so this is not just some light stuff. this is fairly heavy and right during the morning rush. that's covering a good portion of our area. the roads are wet. but with temperatures in the 20s like that and snow coming down

that hard, it's going to stick and cause problems. then get a break from the precipitation farthest to the south at least for awhile. then in the afternoon, this yellow is heavy rain across a good bit of the area. 56 in dover. it's still only 33 in al lentown. that's why we do neighborhood weather. a huge difference across our various neighborhoods. by 4:00 in the afternoon, it's raining everywhere. and it's a wet rush and into the early evening and that all moves out. it's freezing. and the amounts of snow talking about a couple inches in the suburbs. plus some ice on top of it.

that's all going to be overwithby the time we get to the parade. it's going to be cold even for february. a little bit of wind and the skyscrapers are going to block the sunshine making it feel even colder. carson wentz makes a big announcement and makes a kid's day. we'll show you all that next in sports.

eagles continued to connect with their fans. it has the potential to become one of the most famous plays in super bowl history. the name really does say it all. the lure of the philly special continues to grow. just before the half, clement took the direct snap, pitched the ball to burton on the reverse and e he he threw the pass to nick foles for the touchdown. the first receiving td by a quarterback in super bowl history. an eagles fan has a tattoo of the play design right on his arm. and teddy now has this tattoo of nick foles holding the lombardi trop trophy. it's time to pay off those super bowl bets. they paid off to brady wearing an eagles helmet today. he tweeted out this picture with brady congratulating the eagles on the win. that's a look at sports.
