5:44 pm
we have the super bowl mvp and a young quarterback that we're excited about as well. so that's kind of how we're looking at it as we get started in the offseason. >> it's a very interesting situation. if the birds get a crazy offer, they'll consider it but will carson and his knee be ready, and can carson stay healthy? without nick foles, there's no super bowl. we all know that. i'm john clark. back to you. >> decisions, decisions. thanks, john. >> glad we don't have to make them. tough. >> leave it to the pros. >> thank you. a wedding proposal caught on camera by accident inspect. >> now the search is on to find the company. virtual app.com discovered the proposal on a robotic camera. it picked up a man getting down on one knee near the waterfront in williamsburg. they're hoping the couple will hear about their discovery so they can give them this video. from the look of the hug, yeah, she said yes. tammie souza joins us now. we're going to be seeing some wind and a first alert.
5:45 pm
>> we have a first alert in effect. thank goodness that proposal took place when it did. if they were on the beaches come friday and saturday, it would be a different story. we talked about the first alert earlier. it's a major coastal storm that we're watching. we'll expect some downed trees and power lines because the 50 to 60-mile-an-hour winds later in the day on friday. and into saturday. there will be some travel delays very likely. we're also going to see coastal flooding possible. now this is going to be saturday morning and saturday night. we have a full moon. also high tide and we have these very strong winds. we'll have 6 to 10-foot waves out there. be aware of that along the jersey shore and delaware shore lines. heavy rain. we'll see that sporadically thursday -- looks like evening into friday morning. and we are going to see heavy mountain snow in the poconos. they could pick up more than a half a foot of snow. if we get cold enough air in here, everybody could see a wintry mix late friday. then things start to melt because we'll be above freezing on saturday. doppler radar is quiet. a little wave that's moving

through pennsylvania. not really something that's going to concern us. we have some clouds building out there. made it to 61 today. a delightful day. that's about to change. here comes our storm system. looks rather organized and elongated but it's going to scoot up here off the coastline. that's where it intensifies and parks itself and brings in some very strong winds. and some heavy snow across central pennsylvania and possibly into the poconos. here we go. southerly winds. in the 50s. as we go into tomorrow morning, no rain in the area. we'll be in the 40s. very mild. the rain starting to knock on the door at southern delaware. it's across the area moving in by about the noon hour, 1:00. then we see temperatures drop. could see periods of heavy rain, maybe even thunderstorms. and then by the time we get into friday morning, it is still rain. still in the 40s, but watch. here comes that cold air mixing in. i think the poconos and lehigh valley are targets for perhaps what could be some snow. definitely the poconos. the rest of the area will wait
5:47 pm
and see if that cold air gets here in time or if this storm outruns it. that's going to be the final part we'll be evaluating tonight at 11:00 and tomorrow throughout the day. nonetheless, the strong wind comes in here and it looks like by saturday that's when we get the high tide. still gusty winds. that's when we're worried about seeing the coastal flooding. the future wind gusts. look at where they are by the time we get into friday evening. 50 to 60-mile-an-hour wind gusts. that's a 58-mile-an-hour wind gust forecast for avalon. 50-mile-an-hour wind gusts in philadelphia. so you can understand why we're concerned about tree branches coming down and power outages and travel delays. we're going to see those high waves out there, especially friday night into saturday. 6 to 10-foot waves. roads will be covered with water. which roads? too early to tell but i would think that they are probably the usual suspects. be aware of that. follow everything with our app at nbc10.com. just download it and you can stay up to date with what's going on with this storm system in your neighborhood.
