the worst storm damage is still to come. >> bringing you live team coverage. live in atlantic city, over-brooke. still have that snow falling and pockets of steady snow creating those whiteout conditions. many areas cleared out and now they are cold and having to do with clean up. now that we are seeing the winds shift to the northeast which is bad news for people in the coastline. from philadelphia down through south jersey, closer where you see the dark shades of purple, that will be woolrich, philadelphia. now out towards the shore, we are seeing a little bit of snow activity and rain mixed in with

that. this storm system is starting to make its way out to sea. and we will see winds turning onshore. that is not good for the coastal flooding which is expecting tomorrow. look at what the wind gusts are expected to be tonight. 62. philadelphia it will drop into the 29 miles per hour range. even tomorrow morning, when you wake up, could be a few sprinkle of showers moving into the area. gusty winds moving along the shore at high tide. moderate flooding is expected along the shoreline. jersey shore, and delaware. the 50 miles per hour wind. coastal flood areas. beaches and all the jersey

beaches. talk more about the timing approximate when you can get back to a normal weekend. a tree ripped from its roots and fell on this front yard. police rushed to the scene here fortunately no one was hurt. >> montgomery county, check out these sparks. downed power lines all over the area right now. >> in philadelphia, building under construction in fish town. no match for the windy weather today. the building crumbled in front street north of gerard. now a pile of two by fours. >> drew smith is live in atlantic city. we have seen you earlier with the wind whipping at you and soaked what it like now? >> still getting pummelled by the wind. the winds were strong.

so far the precipitation has stopped. this is usually like a lake and now there are waves crashing in. in an area where there is no sea wall, that is a problem. water creeping up on arizona avenue. some people avoided flooded streets choosing the atlantic city boardwalk. >> not getting into the car, not tonight. >> reporter: slick snow and ice piled up on the board. >> wind is crazy. you know, the snow is really wet and slippery. see a lot of people falling. >> reporter: a lot of kids are here for a wrestling championship. an emergency outside the competition as the wind ripped off a former trump hotel. >> when i got here, i broke the door in my car.

in the lehigh valley. you can see it just toppled over from those strong winds. and a tree fell on to a septa bus. four people on the bus were hurt. and relatively minor injuries. this happened just after one in the westbound lanes. took crews more than an hour to get everyone off the bus. we learned service on the west trenton line will probably not happen tomorrow. other service options may run on a delay. check with septa. > looking live inside and outside, where we found plenty of frustrated passengers. let's go live to aaron

baskerville. >> reporter: this train has been here for search or eight hours today. there is actually a train down there and there is a tree over the train over the wires and over the tracks and they are getting to work on that right now. since then, everybody from this one train has gone home. one of those days when you left the house this afternoon you and knew it was going to be a rough one. what is next for your trip? >> my daughter told me to get off the train and take the bus to center city. >> reporter: not the way bonnie wanted to start her trip. stopping her train for over an hour. and the added commute time in general made her miss her flight to new orleans. >> reporter: sorry your 60th birthday celebration isn't where canning out. >> it's not over yet.

>> reporter: the commute was a night mare. travelers waited for hours. telling nbc 10 it took him nearly two hours to get his stranded son and knowing that was only half the battle. >> i have to find a gas station because i know i am going to be sit anything traff sitting in traffic for the way home. >> reporter: took hours for drivers to get a few miles. a lane was blocked after a tree fell. >> plane got canceled so we drove to harrisburg and hopped on a train and where are we? overbrook. >> reporter: she had no idea where she was when she came over to the overbrook station. they are cutting power right now to the track to get to the tree and get it removed and hopefully

then get this train out of here. aaron baskerville nbc 10. a train got blown off the tracks. knocked on its side in kennet square this afternoon. this is a live look at philadelphia international airport. more than 500 flights were canceled. and that includes all american airlines. the board filled with red canceled marks. all of this while the airport was being pounded by snow and rain. spoke with passengers. >> that put us into this night storm here and they ultimately canceled it and kicked us all off and said have a nice day. that's pretty much where we're at this point. >> be prepared for residual

trees. and the winds are tugging at only one tree standing. despite the snow slowing down, its impact felt at dinnertime. some were in the dark. shoppers were too. the traffic trial light at the mall's entry didn't work either. montgomery county had 59 outages. >> plenty of flashlights. we want to thank our bus drivers for taking their time. we had parents trying to get home from work to meet the buses knowing their kids were safe.

>> reporter: red cross is opening up a shelter at keith valley middle school in hor sham. major storm is blamed on six deaths up and down the east coast. all of those deaths were caused by fallen trees. the youngest a 6-year-old boy in virginia. check out this plane as it tries to land in strong winds. cell phone video shows the southwest plane wobbling. the plane finally landed after circling the area several times. >> really good. >> and that was the reaction from passengers once they were safely on the ground. several passengers got sick

during the bumpy landing. 50 to 60 miles per hour can cause problems for trains and even tractor trailer. picked up by the wind just north of new york city. that truck did not flip but two other rigs over turned. >> let's bring in tammie souza with what we can expect overnight. >> winds tapering off at least for pennsylvania suburbs. let's take a look at our radar and you can see the snow, the snow and the rain has come to an end. one strip stretching from the poconos through the way pennsylvania suburbs and straight through philadelphia and into south jersey. if we put it into motion, you

can see it is shifting off. the winds are beginning to shift. and the system is moving further offshore. getting a wrap around from the northeast which is going to pile up the water along the beaches and along the jersey shores. philadelphia a quick burst of snow right now. that will continue to shift off to the east and see these bands shifting back and forth. but not see the truly heavy snow that we saw earlier this afternoon. the system now centered out through atlanta. up towards massachusetts where they had 90 miles per hour wind gusts today. we dealt with 71-mile per hour wind gusts out on cape may, but they had 91. millville 38, toms river 35.

coatesville 38. these wind gusts are ever changing. let's go hour by skmohour and w you through here. these are wind gusts not temperatures. the beach areas and along the jersey shore. inland, philadelphia and the pennsylvania suburbs we drop 25 miles per hour wind gusts. strong wind gusts out in the shore. inland, the rain comes to an end and we have wind gusts that are in that 20-30 miles per hour there. really don't taper off for much of the day. looking at 40 miles per hour wind gusts out there.

between 8:00 and 11:00 tomorrow morning and 8:00 and 11:00 tomorrow night, seeing moderate flooding in those low lying areas. that is going to be our biggest concern tomorrow, the rest of the area basically, going to clear out. highest wind gusts 71 miles peb hour cape may. 61 in atlantic city, west grove 58. reading 58. and how about the snow total as soon as 22.5 inches near the poconos. 2.5 in doylestown.

philadelphia international at 1.5 inches. some areas still reporting. look at this. temperatures tomorrow in the 40s. we will see that sunshine in the afternoon. 45 in philadelphia. 42 in the suburbs. and 42 in the lehigh valley. 46 in delaware, 44 in jersey. and 46 along the jersey shore. a lot of this is going to melt away. we will be right back after this.
