we do see a few clouds popping up later this afternoon north and west, just a little dynamics at play. the high pressure, the driving force of our weather, big low off the coast will keep the risk of rip currents moderate for the long island beaches. make sure you're ready for that. 84 for the high. less humidity. we will talk more about the changes this week holds in a bit. but right now back to the desk. our top story this morning, state health inspectors back in the bronx. >> mayor de blasio said the month-long outbreak has been contained but five more buildings tested positive for the legionella bacteria bringing the total to 10. the number of people infected now stands at 108. there hasn't been a new case in five days but the risk is still out there in parts of the bronx. ilana gold has more about this story from the melrose section of the bronx. >> this courthouse is one of those buildings that just tested positive for the bacteria but

even more locations could be affected. so in just a few hours teams with the health department will be back in this hour testing dozens of buildings. >> reporter: state health inspectors have another tough job ahead of them today. they plan to take water samples from 42 cooling towers across the south bronx that supply air conditioning and send them to a lab for legionella testing. >> this is literally uncharted territory. we have to acknowledge that. we never saw an outbreak of legionnaires' like this in the city. >> reporter: they're focussed on 100 cooling towers in five sections of the bronx. on saturday they tested 57 after the bronx borough president asked the governor to get involved and help control the outbreak that's killed 10 people since july. >> we're here today to help manage this process. we're in constant communication with all levels of government including the city.

>> reporter: the city revealed five new sites. they include a verizon building, housing court, bronx hall of justice, a post office and samuel gumpers high school. all have been treated and disinfected for the bacteria that can cause deadly pneumonia. >> they told my parents a few times that i was on the verge of not making it. >> daniel tejada, more than 100 people recently infected with legionnaires' disease. >> they took my temperature at the hospital and i think it was 105 or 106. >> reporter: melt owe fish suls say you -- health officials say you can't get it from person to person contact. bronx residents say they're frustrated. >> people don't maintain their property as well as other boroughs. >> that's what it comes down to. >> that is what i think. >> reporter: they need assurance they won't get sick. >> these things the city should

take care of and they're not. >> the cooling towers at the five buildings that tested positive yesterday have been treated and disinfected. the health department says the public should not panic. also, the teams will be heading next few hours. we will be there and let you know what they find out. we're live in the melrose gold. afghanistan. a u.s. soldier has been killed and several others wounded in a series of attacks in kabul, yesterday. the wave of attacks left 40 injured. the taliban has claimed bombings. crews are expected to resume their search for a missing kayaker in dutchess county. the sheriff's office said a kayak carrying a man and woman capsized in the hudson river near historic hills mansion in staatsburg. a passing boat picked up the woman, tali fruchtmann but the man is nowhere to be found. he's 32-year-old ian joevenlts

the two were not wearing life jackets, vment. this man attempted to rape a woman on her way home. investigators say he approached her on 16th street in sunset park and asked her to let him into the billing. when she refused he exposed himself and pushed her to the ground. the suspect ran away when the woman screamed. new information now. a queens mom is facing second-degree murder charges in the death of her baby. police sources say the 21-year-old rashida choudhury confessed yesterday to throwing the 19-day-old baby out of a fourth story window saying she believed he was possessed. a neighbor found his body friday and called 911. the medical examiner said the infant died of blunt impact injuries and skull fractures. a brooklyn couple is facing criminal charges after they allegedly locked their two daughters their car while gambling in a cats seen know.

maria loha and segndo japa left their daughters 6 and 8 outside of resorts casino while they gambled friday date. the couple has been charged with acting in a manner injurious to a minor. the fbi is investigating the shooting of a police-involved shooting of christian walker. he was shot and killed 1:00 a.m. the teen smashed his car through the window of a car dealership. officer brad miller shot walker after some sort of altercation. miller, who has only been on the force since september is on administrative leave. emotions running high in ferguson, missouri, during the one-year anniversary of the shooting of michael brown. don champion has more from ferguson. >> reporter: surrounded by family members michael brown, senior, laid teddy bears at the

spot where his 18-year-old son was killed a year ago in ferguson. >> personally it is a loss but it is a lot of good that came out of my son and he is still with us. >> reporter: wearing t-shirts bearing his pictures and the words "chosen for change." there was a march, hundreds took part, and the white police officer responsible was cleared of any wrongdoing. >> we don't believe things like this should happen in america. >> reporter: he brought his 7-year-old grandson to the march. >> wau what do you tell him? >> i try to tell him to remain who he is. we try to teach him to respect the police. >> in the year since brown's killing the city of ferguson has made changes. >> reporter: officials hired an interim police chief who is

black and overhauled the municipal court system. the department of justice found it was unfairly targeting blacks and minorities. marchers say there is still reason to protest. >> white supremacy and racism have built this town and under gird this town, should be changed. another march is planned for today. and the procession will stop before noon for a moment of silence to mark the moment that brown was killed. texas. eight people including five dead. and we have been warning you about a dangerous new drug -- or a dangerous drug, i should say, york. a person comes to us with a them. forecast. coming up we'll look at our rain stats. just how much rain do we need?

relationship to the victims. to campaign 2016, vermont senator bernie sanders did not get too far into his social security speech in seattle before activists for the black interrupted him. mic. >> the crowd called for the activists to step aside and the patiently. after 20 minutes sanders left the stage without giving his speech. >> it is unfortunate because among other things i wanted to talk about the issues of black lives. the fact that the american people are tired of seeing unarmed african americans shot and killed. but there are other issues as well that we have to talk about. >> hours later sanders spoke to a packed crowd at the university of washington about his commitment to criminal justice reform as well as addressing income inequality.

one of donald trump's top advisors said he quit. trump said he fired roger stone but stone said he submitted his resignation after thursday night's debate because he was unhappy with the direction of the campaign. the trump campaign says stone was let go because he believed he was trying to use his position for personal publicity. it is time to see what is coming up this morning on "face the nation." >> john dickerson has a preview. >> good morning, andrea. we are going to talk to donald trump. weekend. we'll get his views on his campaign, women voters and a few other things. we'll talk to carly fiorina and ben carson. two others that had big nights during the debates. we'll talk about the campaign and donald trump. and bernie sanders drawing enormous crowds. we'll talk about what he thought of the republican debate and how this campaign is going. and then one year after the

shooting in ferguson, we'll talk to cornell william brooks of the naacp about what has changed and what hasn't. and then we'll have a roundtable to wrap it up. >> i hope you get to everything. that is a lot. what is your take on somebody like carly fiorina who by all accounts do great. how does it hurt her not being a part of the larger one? >> it helped her because she was number one in the second debate. she's getting a lot of attend shin and buzz because of that. you can imagine she would get lost in the big debate. the big challenge is for her to move up. one of the top 10 will have to drop out or move back. we'll have to watch whether she can capitalize on her strong performance as she certainly knows to go where the news is and talk about the topics of the day. so she's going to stay in a few news cycles, not just because of her debate performance but says. >> we look forward to watching

some welcome news for so many. we need it. tuesday. so, yeah, it is the good with -- well the good with the needed i not the bad. we have delightful skies out there right now. that low. here is a low with a front that comes doing and late monday we see showers west of the city. it is overnight monday into tuesday where we see a chance for some of that needed rain. into the afternoon you have to leave the chance of a pop-up shower well north and west. so up through the poconos, catskills possibly. but the odds are very low for that. through the day you're fine. monday morning, the commute should be worry-free. much of the day it is comfortable. sunny and not who humid. humidity values creep up in the afternoon. chance of shower well to the west. it's tuesday, even tuesday morning we see a line of showers with embedded thunderstorms rolling through.

woman, tali fruchtmann, but ian jones disappeared. a man hunt is on the way for two serial rapist. 31-year-old isiah rivera and 26-year-old joey cruz. investigators say they raped at least three women. the last reported incident was just this past tuesday when police say one of them agreed to apartment. she was raped by three men including rivera and cruz. the police say they took the third man into custody friday. president obama is saying his agreement with iran to curb its nuclear program could lead to a constructive relationship between the u.s. and ir iran. the president did say that might not take place immediately. his plan came under fire by politicians, some of them including new york senator chuck schumer. a powerful typhoon is hitting china with heavy rains forcing hundreds of thousands of

another fire is causing damage out west. a large wildfire in arizona keeps spreading near the border with nevada and california. 150 homes have already been evacuated. authorities say the fire sparked afternoon. they call it the willow fire. 20 new york state workers are heading west to help fight wildfires. the group from department of environmental conservation will washington. they'll help contain the fires there for the next two weeks. meanwhile the u.s. forest
