jenelle is live. >> reporter: the mta told us they hope by suspending traffic it gives crews the time and space they need to get this work done. on the other side of the fence they are working to repair the rails and have the train moved out of here. they hope to have it done by the end of the workday commute. it has caused a lot of delays and frustrated commuters. >> i'm not going to bother to go to work. i'm going to lose a day. >> sylvia one of countless commuters trying to head into manhattan. he sat on a train for two and a half hours. he was calling a friend to take him back home. >> we understand. accidents happen. provide us with some sort of service that we can get home or we can get to work with. it's ridiculous. we pay a lot of money for our tickets.

>> the boards filled with delays and cancelations. nearly 1/3 of all trains canceled this morning. >> frustrated is not the word right now. we're all stranded. what about people who have jobs that might not have a job if they don't get there? >> all of the headache stemming from this, crews still working to fix a broken track after two cars of this freight train derailed tuesday afternoon in new castle tumbling on their side leaps construction debris littering the tracks. >> when they derailed the truck was moving so it got drug for a while and that damaged the track for that couple hundred feet. the big challenge is still trying to get this second car rerailed. >> that second car still not rerailed this afternoon. when trains finally did arrive later this morning -- >> look at all the people over flowing. you can't even get on a train. >> people left with little choice but to pile inside. >> you're determined to get on. >> i am.

i have to go to work. >> reporter: now, back live, another live look from chopper 2 over the scene as crews work to get this rail repaired. you can see one of the train cars still on its side from that derailment. derailment. one of the mta spokesperson told me they have 150 workers out here. not only the track but the third rail was damaged as well. they told me their goal is to have all of this wrapped up by 5:00 this evening. they say they're not making any promises. that's the goal this afternoon. he said it is ambitious. in the meantime they are providing shuttle bus service for passengers between hicksville and mineola. >> thank you. a deadly crash made a mess of the morning commute for drivers in central new jersey. a commercial truck over turned on route 18 near exit 22 stopping traffic in both directions.

meg baker has more from the scene. >> you can see heavy traffic behind me here on route 34 in cold snack. it's been like this all morning. that's due to an accident on route 18 which left two dead and one critically injured. >> debris covers route 18 where a truck carrying construction materials collided with two other vehicles before 6:30 this morning. >> i heard like a real loud bang. >> residents on kathleen drive say they were awakened by the crash behind their street that runs parallel to route 18 north. >> it was probably around 6:30, maybe a little later than that. one of my cats sleeps on the bed and he just took off. it was just like what is this. >> emergency crews and police are still on the scene investigating the cause of the accident. you can see the truck is across the road from a container it was carrying full of what looks like dirt and wood. >> i was talking to someone this morning later on and he

cashing the lottery ticket. when she brought them to her home they took off with the money. linden, new jersey police are examining video of a high school football game to see if a player should face criminal charges. the tigers were on the practice field yesterday minus number 1, fritz moncion. he was suspended after a friday night video showing him fighting on the field with david hoffman. he ends up with hoffman's helmet in his hands and swings and hits him on the head. linden players have shocked at the bad behavior of one of their football players. >> he should know better than that to do that. >> there's no place for that on the field. >> hoffman is a junior. he needed 10 stitches to close a head wound. live a noon, a big education announcement from mayor de blasio. he unveiled a 10-year plan to offer computer science

courses to every public school student. andrea grimes is live andrea. >> reporter: the mayor 's speech just wrapped up moments ago and included several education reforms. among them those computer science classes for all students. he said he hopes it leads more of them to jobs in technology. >> a computer science education is literacy for the 21st century. >> mayor de blasio launched one of his latest education initiatives earlier this morning with a video before arriving to a packed auditorium to detail the plan to offer computer science classes. >> when you do find students in computer class they're learning word processes or typing when they should be learning how to code. >> the $81 million public-private partnership will train 5,000 teachers over the next 10 years. the administration said too many schools do not have the

resources. >> think about the world that we live in now. hundreds of thousands of good jobs will be accessible to those with coding and other essential skills. >> the plan would start kids at the elementary school level but would not be a requirement. parents said it's a great idea. >> i think it's very important for the kids. he wants to be a scientist when he gets older. it will be awesome for him. >> for my kids and considering the changing of times i want them to be able to keep up with it. >> the mayor's speech not just about computer science but several other education reforms including mandating students complete algebra by 9th grade and expanding advancement courses to every school. >> reporter: the mayor said there's still a tale of two cities when it comes to the school system and that has to change. he offered some rare credit to mayor bloomberg for gaining mayor control of city schools.

and then cut across austria in order to reach germany. >> migrants have already began the long walk in that direction with some arriving by bus load throughout the night into this morning. >> the only legal way through hungry is to apply for asylum where they're letting in handfuls of people at a time. on monday 9,000 people crossed the border. hungry officials just said they allowed 70 in to apply for asylum. 40 were retained, the rest deported. >> hungarian authorities have arrested more than 500 migrants who tried to cross the border since tough new laws went into effect on tuesday. it turns out the mistaken police take down of tennis star james blake wasn't the only mix up in the case. he was tackled

and handcuffed outside the grand hyatt in uptown. someone used a stolen credit card on the web delivery service go butler. the company searched the web for a photo of the person matching the name of the credit card. they gave it to police. >> my name is actually clearly tagged at the bottom of the photo. to be honest i think this whole mess could have been avoided if someone spent 10 minutes doing research on google. >> james blake was tackled by the delivery man for go butler pointed him out to police. right here on cbs 2 news this morning the hit court show produced by judge judy has been renewed for a second condition. viewers are given a unique perspective as cameras are allowed into chambers. >> each case has a new issue. it could be a simple case but we like to make it more complicated. >> you can watch hot bench
