take a look at temperatures. mild until the -- in the city. 55 in monticello. 68 in sparta. 73 toms river. now on the vortex satellite and radar picture, you can see those showers moving off direction. rain. a few of us getting sprinkles at this point. i would say by 9:00 the wet weather is over with, skies beginning to clear. plenty of clouds through -- out there, by noon, 73 degrees. 3:00, 77 degrees with sunshine. it will feel like 77. very dry air will be dropping in behind the cold front today. 6:00, 75 under mainly clear skies. by 9:00 tonight, 68 and clear. a lovely end to the weekend despite a few sprinkles early this morning.

in the extended forecast coming up. andrea and diane back to you. we have breaking news in downtown brooklyn. police are investigating a multiple victims. the murders are the latest city city. >> reporter: we have just learned that three men are dead courthouse. investigators are out here looking for evidence and trying to get answers on who's responsible for the crime. here's what we know, the shootings were just before 2:00 ingersll houses. a 76-year-old man was shot in survived. this was a violent night across new york city. police tell us they are also investigating two other deadly shootings. one in the bronx, another in

has been arrested in those cases. and back out here live, where police are investigating triple shooting here at this public housing complex. we're going to stay on scene and make sure to keep you updated as we learn more. live in downtown brooklyn, iilona gold, cbs 2 news. police confirm a man was shot at the r rtsp training and shooting range in randolph. police say no one else was hurt. and there's no danger to the community. the shooting range will be closed as the investigation continues. new this morning, surveillance cameras captured the men police believe are responsible for robbing five cell phone stores at gunpoint. the man entered the store, showed off guns, and in some incidents, forced employees into the back storage room before taking off with electronics.

the surveillance camera caught the car the suspects consider caught getting into. police continue to search for a woman who went over niagara falls. emergency crews rushed to the area around 6:00 saturday evening. police say the woman in her 40s may have intentionally entered the water to harm himself. two men are under arrest after leading police on a wild car chase through upper manhattan. police say they saw the driver of a white van through a gun out the window yesterday. when the officers tried to get the van to pull over, the chase began. it took about 10 minutes of driving through morningside heights, the west side highway and harlem before police caught up to the men. no one was hurt, the gun has not been found. a plane with 250 passengers was grounded at jfk, after the wing hit a fence. it was scheduled to take after morning. you can see the right wing tip

pushed up against the fence. >> the plane started backing up and saw the shutter on the plane and all of a sudden, we stopped and the pilot came on and said, hey, we have backed into something, and we have to stop here. >> luckily no one was injured. the 276 people on board were helped off the plane and busted back to the terminal. virgin atlantic apologized for the delay and put passengers on other flights throughout the day. four days and counting until pope francis arrives in new york. he began his trip with a stop in cuba where president raul handshake. he will celebrate mass before hundreds of thousands of people in the capitol city. adriana diaz reports from havana. >> reporter: pope francis received a hero's welcome, complete with flowers, trumpets and cannons.

we should be at 74. told's high, 77. then tomorrow, it's seasonal at 73. tuesday we start to warm up, and wednesday is the official start of fall, and it will be more in the mid-and upper 70s as we start the new season. the humidity levels will be dropping, as i mentioned. cold front moving through right now. once it's out of here, we are going to drop the levels of moisture in the atmosphere big time. sticky. comfortable. these are a measure of the dew points in the 40s, means you're barely going to notice moisture in the air at all. cold front moving through. a few showers behind it. dry air is in place. clear air is in place. so high pressure will be building on in. it will be lovely by afternoon, nice, too. for today, with skies clearing, it will be comfortable, cooler and we'll also have a stiff breeze. breezy later on. then tomorrow, a mixture of sunshine and clouds. cool with highs where they should be, and as we make our way into tuesday, it is

officially the last full day of summer. we need to wish it farewell, and generally speaking, the forecast looking okay as we say good-bye to summer. the papal visit is holding off well. 78 on thursday, a mixture of sunshine and clouds. friday looks to be a mostly cloudy day and 76. keeping the rain out of the forecast. it's trending better and better. for today, clearing, cooler and breezy. winds out of the northwest at 10 to 25. we could see gusts up to 25 miles per hour so hold onto your hats and overnight tonight, mostly clear, getting chilly. 57 is the overnight low in the city. that will translate to 40s north and west and it will still be breezy overnight with winds out of the north, northeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour. tomorrow, feeling like fall, as it should be by this time in september. 73 degrees your high tomorrow, and still breezy. winds out of the northeast at 10 to 15.

your subway update. >> joe girardi said simply we need to win games. they are dangerously close to falling out of touch with the blue jays for the division lead, and a bad weekend could have buried them. the mets are just figging out how to stack the rotation complain time. noah syndergaard, he's 7-1. smokes a three run pop to start the game. the yankees lead the major in first inning runs with 116. i really wonder if a concern with the young arms for the mets is actually fatigue. noah was dipping into the high 90s in the 6th inning. it was 5-0 yankees. mets still have their opportunities, golden opportunities. 6th inning cespedes goes down with two on. they had a few more chances after that. nothing came of it.
