the bataclan thee hater, one of six classifications that came -- theatre. under attack. now, a new pressing concern. the possibility of other attackers at large. paris police are confirming that they found what they believe to be a getaway car abandoned about six miles outside of the city. >> thousands of fringe police swept the streets of paris as a fearful another attack remains too real here. the country mourns. >> and we didn't want to stage the home and go on the street and live again and not to feel the fear. so. >> reporter: paris was rocked friday night. french officials say three teams of terrorists all armed with assault rifles and identical suicide vests launched coordinates attacks on cafes, a soccer game and a concert hall.

crazy. >> reporter: 23-year-old cal state student nohemi gonzalez was killed while having dinner with friends. abroad in paris. >> and she brought joy, happiness and laughter. >> reporter: as a precaution, many of the top tourist attractions were closed, the louvre. the french president hollande carnage. he said know woke of the attackers was born in france and had a petty criminal record. they're searching for accomplices and vowing to take no mercy when they're tracked down. >> the family told police they had no idea he had become radicalized. seven family members including the brother had been taken into custody for questioning a. at this point, unclear if any of them played a role in friday's attack. >> and thank you.

authorities said there are no specific threats, police in the tristate area are on high alert and stepping up security in the area. ilana gold joins us live with more where the giants are later today. >> reporter: this morning, we're seeing police and canines out here at met life stadium. we have been watching themscoping out the parking lots looking for anything suspicious and police really are not letting their anymore down here today. there will be many layers of added security inside and outside the stadium. football fans can expect a heavy police presence at met life stadium for the giants versus patriots game today. troopers beefing up security around the perimeter in the parking lot and inside. authorities also warning fans to not bring bags here. if it's a must, it has to be a clear one. the nypd stepping up security across the city and it's more than evidence.

in paris. new video this morning of the destruction in syria caused by air strikes. the islamic state claims russian warplanes carried out yesterday, strikes in raka. russia has not claimed responsibility. the strikes came hours after the islamic state said it was behind the deadly attacks in paris. defense analysts said the attacks on paris may lead the u.s. to take stronger military action across in syria and iraq. experts say the u.s. may imbed military advisors with iraqi forces and isis fighters. but the obama administration said the group's terror threats don't justify launching a u.s. ground war. president obama did arrive in turkey this morning for the g-20 summit. leaders of the world's 20 biggest economies will focus on trade, energy and the environment. the deadly attacks on paris brought a new sense of urgency to the two-day talks. the french president cancelled

and to campaign 2016, the attacks in paris dominated the discussion as they faced off in the second debate. cbs 2s political reporter marcia kramer has much more. >> reporter: the democratic presidential debate began with a moment of silence for the hundreds killed or wounded in the deadly terror attacks that rocked paris. all of the candidates denounced the attacks, the first time they spoke with the incident and it was a difficult world since earlier in the day. they condemned president obama who once called isis to junior varsity. the 3 democrats to the debate and the first broadcast network to host a debate event fought over who should take the fight to the islamic state terrorist isis. >> it can't be contained but defeated. it can't be an american fight. >> i would disagree with secretary clinton respectfully on this score.

long island macarthur, westchester county and affected. the faa said an external communications problem affected air traffic communications facilities and prevented planes from landing. there is no indication this has ties to terrorism. and time now for the exclusive cbs 2 forecast. vanessa murdock is here with a look at that and some very sunny skies. yesterday. i think many will be pleased to hear that and also maybe pleased to hear, the winds are significantly calmer than they were yesterday and all things considered, it's going to feel like fall out there today than like winter. and let's go live outside and show you what is happening from high atop the empire state building. the skies are clear and it's 41 degrees, southwest winds at 8 miles per hour. and we start off sunday morning at 8:16 and today, warmer than yesterday by roughly 10 degrees

calmer, it will feel like 15 to 20 degrees warmer than yesterday. a mild start to the workweek. the highs in the low 60s for many of us and rain returns on thursday. we need it but i think thursday's going to be ugly with very powerful winds and rain as well. and returning to yesterday's wind gusts at laguardia, packed at 45 miles per hour and in central park. 32 miles an hour. today, maybe we get about a 20 miles per hour-gust and all things veried -- considered, it will be calmer than yesterday. we look at the temperature friend, yesterday, a high of 49. roughly 10 degrees warmer and 58 tomorrow. 61 and then for today, we're back down to 55, which is actually where we should be. and on the vortex satellite and radar picture, we have some clouds to the south of the city and overall, it will be a mostly sunny day and we're talking about a big area of high pressure dominating today's forecast and tomorrow's forecast as well. of the winds generally westerly and remember it, winds are

start to warm us up. for most, we will consider this the better half of the weekend. winds. and plenty of sunshine and into tuesday, this is where the situation changes. we have what we call a backdoor cold front easing its way toward us and it will switch the wind direction and it will be in off of the water as that happens. the touches will be on the lower end of the spectrum and closer to normal in the mid-50s and we'll see more clouds as clouds. a lot of sunshine and 58 in the city, 56 for freeo hold; 54, white plains and 55, montauk. and going to the game, the giants taking on the patriots at met life stadium and the first kick, 425 and 46 degrees. mostly sunny then and close to sunset. we'll call it clear at dusk. overnight tonight, clear and not as cold. 46 and tomorrow, beautiful and mostly sunny and 61. tuesday, more clouds and 55. for wednesday, 61 and mostly cloudy. we night see wet weather on wednesday but thursday is the

this is a moving scene that took place in paris at one of the attack sites yesterday. the man you're seeing rolled out a grand pinot outside of the bataclan theatre and played john lennon's "imagine" in tribute to the victims. hundreds have come to the location to leave flowers and candles as well. and you2 frontman bono and the -- u2 frontman bono and the rest of e musicians came to lay flowers in a makeshift memorial close to the site. the band cancelled two pcoming paris concerts. >> in our area, displays of love and support for the people the tristate. and this is the french consulate on the upper east growing. dozens of people are leaving love and hope. now. this fire on top of one world trade center was let in the night.

the man they say was involved in a string of robberies in coney island. on monday, he followed a 63- year-old woman into an apartment building elevator,ish period her against the call and -- wall and grabbed her bag. he's accused of robbing two other women the past two weeks. underway this morning in discovered at the playland. someone found the woman's body in a lake on the amusement yesterday afternoon. there were no obvious signs of foul play and the medical examenner will determine an official cause of death and no word on the woman's identity. and we have details reless -- released in the 2007 home invasion chase in cheshire, connecticut, that left a mother and her two daughters dead. the hartford current is recording the court documents that police were moments away from catching the killers. police were ordered to find the car driven by convicted murderer steven hayes after to withdraw $15,000.

once back at the house, hayes and joshua killed pettitte and her daughters. the lawyers, defense lawyers, said that police withheld evidence and are asking for a new trial. both men were convicted of murder and sentenced to die before the highest court struck down the death penalty. and firefighters battled a mass of fire at a building in brooklyn that well of the two people hurt. and more than 100 firefighters were called in to fight that fire against the wind and many people in moan reported seeing the smoke. and two people hurt are expected to be okay. the cause of the fire is under investigation. and new york is taking new steps to warn people about the warning deer population. it added six of the temporary signs like that one on highland go of in bay paris to alert drivers of crossings. it's welcome news for drivers who have had close calls for the animals.

high is 54. your rainfall updates this month, we have gotten under 3/4 of a inch and we're below normal by more than an inch. as we look at the year-to-date numbers, we have gotten about 35 inches. the deficit is now nearing nine thursday is good news with regard to the fact that we're going to get much needed rain. forecast. lots of sunshine, high, thin clouds as well and the big picture, there is a big area of high pressure dominating today's forecast and wins generally out of the west and a slight warm-up for today. a bigger warm-up for tomorrow. today, the better half of the weekend feeling warmer and still lots of sunshine and calmer winds. the winds out of the southwest around the area of high pressure and warming into the low 60s. on tuesday, with what we call a back door cold front easing in our direction, we'll have cool clouds with winds coming in off of the water. the temperatures will be more seasonable in the mid-50s on tuesday.

more than 100 years, robin's reef, called kate's light for kate walker who manned the station alone. >> she came out here in 1886 with her husband and she was his assistant and when he died, she took over and -- >> a group from the noble maritime collection who was working to restore the lighthouse took me out in the harbor and up to the top and with modern systems of gps, lighthouses are being used less and less. >> and not's lot of people know about and hopefully this will get more notoriety. >> reporter: walker's main duty, to keep the light going. to do so, she had to carry buckets of oil to the top of the lighthouse and that is about 56 feet. to reach land, she would use a boat to row a mile to staten eland. >> and would go back and forth to staten island probably every day to run errands and get male. in terms of call and those supplies, they were dropped off by the government one day a year and walker was 4'8", weighing over 100-pounds and
