countries. one man played dead. she posted the photo on facebook of the top she was wearing at the time. at first she thought the shooting was part of her show. she pretended to be dead for over an hour lying among people who could see their loved ones motionless trying to motte move, not cry, not giving feet they longed to see. i was incrediblely lucky to survive but so many didn't. it's gone viral with more than 2 million views. a california college student killed in the attacks is being remembered today. hundreds to honor gonzalez a 23- year-old senior design student studying abroad. her family says she had big dreams. >> she was going to have a different life. not only like most of our people that go to work and come

a family. >> gonzalez's family says it could take up to three weeks before they are able to bring her body home forebial. the nypd has beefed up security in the city in the wake of the paris attacks. jenel is live with the details. >> mary, police say there are no specific or credible threats in the city but there's a visible sign of police here in times square. earlier we saw a large bomb squad vehicle and also officers on horseback a show of security they are hoping sends a clear message. the cross roads of the world now part of the cross roads of a high security operation. looking around. new york city is always going to be a target. >> she takes metro north to grand central terminal for work and the events in paris make her nervous about the

how the victims of the attacks are being honored. jonathan? >> good afternoon to you chris and mary. we are gathered here at the square and you can see the hundreds of people that have gathered coming here all afternoon long writing with chalk messages of hope here on the ground some of them reading simply pray for paris, another one love and light is stronger than hate along with all of this we have seen a lot of candles also being lit. there's a sense of sadness. a sense of hope but also a clear sense of fear. we were at this exact location pretty much 24 hours ago yesterday when firecrackers suddenly sparked what was described as a mass panic. people confused that for gunshots. we were right at the border as we saw this flood of people running towards us all of us taking cover as we watch police pulling out guns patrolling the area shutting down the streets trying to figure out what the threat was.

of course later learning on it was just those firecrackers but simply you could tell just how much fear there is and for good reason too. police still looking for one attacker that got away. salah abdeslam has been identified from brussels born in more yack o and the mastermind we are told is still very much active in syria. chris, mary? >> jonathan live in paris for us. jonathan thank you. the new new york stock exchange paused to honor the victims of the paris attacked. u.s. army captain was born in france awarded the medal of honor last week and rang the exchange bell once to start a moment of silence trading opened as usual at 9:30. still ahead here at noon the one step test that will make it easier and cheaper to detect a virus. plus a major drug and gun bust in the suburbs.

degrees warmer than it was this time yesterday. it's a delightful dozen as far as the temperature change from day-to-day in the city in white plains edison 13 degrees warmer. easily at 65 today. big bump from yesterday. there's that drop tomorrow. but then we are going to be warm again wednesday into thursday. 65 over 10 degrees above normal. sunset at 4: 37. the numbers are going to be changing but 14 of the first 15 days of november the leaves are coming down but the numbers are staying up. 14 of the 15 have been above degrees. nice and bright here. high pressure almost on top of us. that has cut the wind down. you really can enjoy it. just a quick advisory showers and storms stretching from border to border and out to the gulf. could see severe weather and for the rockies it's snow so there's changes in the works.

the color is beautiful mixed with all of the others in a beautiful salad or side dish pretty impressive. let's talk about selection. when you buy them you want to make sure the purple is nice and purple all the way around. see how beautiful it is? check the bottom where it's been cut. free from any browning. when you bring them home simply store them in the fridge right away but don't hold them for too long. three five days at the very most. they are great for us and if you mix them with the others what a beautiful salad. and don't over cook cauliflower especially the purple because it will bleed out and you lose the color. not really too much the flavor but definitely the color. and i'm your fresh gr oc er. remember to eat fresh and stay beautiful. >> still ahead a scene out of africa.
