for two terrorists directly connected to friday's attacks. the second one also got away. police seized a car with belgian license plates this morning many northern paris that may be linked to the terror attacks. several of the terrorists have ties to belgian, including the suspect who got away, 26-year- old salah abdeslam. overnight, security forces carried out more than 100 raids in france and belgian. police arrested more than a dozen suspects. he hopes the police catch the attackers who are still on the run. he was in the bataclan theater when terrorists struck friday night. he broke down as he told us he was separated from his girlfriend who was shot in the shoulder. i feel so bad, he said. like a coward for leaving her. a group of french muslims has started a social media campaign to condemn the attacks. >> what they did is terror. and this is not the islam i'm practicing.

claimed responsibility for the attacks which killed 129 people. france is demanning european allies support military action against isis. secretary of state john kerry who met tuesday with french president francois hollande says more needs to be done. >> we have to step up our efforts to hit them at the core where they're planning these things. >> reporter: for a second day, french war planes slammed isis targets in syria. president francois hollande wants to amend the constitution. it would make it easier for police to conduct raids without a warrant. >> the owners of the concert hall say they don't know when the venue will re-open. tony aiello is outside the bataclan where the pain is still evident. >> reporter: tuesday afternoon in paris and you can see the police have opened the street in front of the bataclan club where the worst of the terror occurred on friday. 89 people killed inside by the

bombings of various terrorists who infiltrated the club during a concert by a california band. on the front of the club, there's a banner hanging that says in french, liberty is an indestructible monument. and over here, people have started putting flowers and candles, another memorial, a city in mourning. we will have full reports from on cbs 2 news. >> and after the paris attack, opposition to president barack obama's plan to resettle 10,000 syrian refugees in the u.s. is growing. one of the suspected terrorists apparently snuck into france through greece among the tide of migrants. and now 22 governor, mostly republicans say they'll do what they can to keep refugees out of their states. new jersey governor chris christie said he would not allow them into the state. we reached out to new york's governor cuomo but we have not

heard back from him. russia makes a startling announcement confirming it was terrorism that brought down a russian plane last month. >> and now president putin vows for justice. >> reporter: for the first time, russia is confirming it was a homemade bomb that brought down a russian charter jet over egypt, killing all 224 people onboard. >> the murder of our people is one of the bloodiest in terms of the number of victims of such crimes. we won't easily wipe away the tears in our hearts and souls. >> reporter: russian president putin was one of several leaders at an emergency meeting where the head of russia's federal security service revealed the findings. he says in russian, during the flight, a homemade devoice with the power of 1.5-kilograms of tnt was detonated. as a result, the plane fell apart in the air which can be explained by the huge

scattering of the fuselage. we can be sure it was an act of terror. u.s. intelligence suggested the bomb brought down the plane just days after it went down. and isis claimed responsility for the attack within hours but with his own intelligence agency finally confirming this was terrorism, president putin promised a strong response and offered a $50 million reward for information leading to those responsible. >> we should not apply any time limits. we need to know all the perpetrators by name. we will search for everywhere, where ever they are hiding. we will find them in any spot on the plan and it we will punish them. >> reporter: while russia hasn't mentioned isis by name, putin call for stronger work in syria, quote, so terrorist understand retribution is inevitable. and he says his war planes have fired cruise missiles on several locations in sir. why and tests showed they were

they are trying to appeal to the international community for information. and they said they'll pay the reward in dollars. >> thank you. well iraqi forces are going after isis terror suspects every day, although almost always at night. we went along on an operation to find four suspects wanted in connection to a 2014 attack on a military base. >> reporter: we met the general and his men at a secret location south. he told us they were after four isis suspects. a sleeper cell lying low among the local population, plotting terror attacks in iraq. down a muddy road, they nabbed the first one, he didn't the put up any resistance. but in the back of the truck, it's starting to the sink in. the target, men suspected of taking part in the massacre of as many as 1700 army recruits

when isis overran a military base last year. lined up by the hundreds, shot dead in shallow graves. >> who is this young man? >> reporter: the general said the men they were after are among those who pulled the trigger. the next location was a warehouse where they hoped to find three other suspects. they only found one. he too is blind folded and taken away for interrogation. two more men from the suspected terror cell are still at large. and now they know their cohorts have already been taken in. the general told us because they hide in plain sight and then strike civilian area, the suspects he and his men go after every week pose more of a threat than the isis militant forces face on the front line. cbs news, iraq. in 2014, the massacre is one of the deadliest isis attacks since the group's inception.

gunman accused of firing outside of a lounge. a stray bullet wounded a woman standing nearby. janelle burrell has the story from the flatiron district. >> reporter: nypd detectives going door to door stopping in all of the businesses on west 28th street near broadway this morning trying to find any clues, collect any images to help them identify four men they are searching for. >> looking the outside camera. >> reporter: the investigators hoping one shop has surveillance video of the four suspects connected to the shooting outside of this bar where a 21-year-old woman was grazed while waiting for her boyfriend. police overnight questioning people who saw some of the exchange. of. >> very busy. nighttime is a lot of sparse everything out there. >> reporter: -- a lot of cars and everything out there. >> reporter: the gunfire began just before 2:00 tuesday morning. a group began argument and then shots were fired. they say the woman ran into the

that's when she realized a bullet had grazed her leg. a superintendent of a nearby building -- >> a lot of bad things happen around here, shootings and stuff like that. but this block, i never seen before like somebody get shot. >> reporter: police are hoping that nypd surveillance cameras will give them some clues as to where the suspects may have headed. they were last seen leaving the reporting from the flatiron 2 news. >> the victim is being treated at the hospital and is expected to survive. firefighters scrambled this morning as a fast-moving fire ripped through an apartment complex. flames shot from the roof. we are live with details this noon. >> reporter: fire investigators say that everyone is accounted for, at least that is the good news. that fire broke out on this street behind me early this morning. >> the second floor was in

flames. and never seen anything like this before. >> reporter: more than eight units up in flames in new jersey. the cellphone video shows smoke billowing out of the apartment building at 19 willowbrook drive. >> it started at the roof and the fire started spreading and people started running out. >> reporter: residents say people were trapped inside. but someone driving by stopped to help get them out. >> there was a good samaritan that was coming down the street driving and he must have seen the smoke. he stopped the car and ran into the building and thank goodness the doors were open and he started banging on door,s are a fire get out. a woman was on the patio screaming. so they coached her to throw the baby down. about eight, 10 months old. >> reporter: on the second floor? >> on the second floor. and she had to jump down. >> reporter: investigators say the fire started in apartment 100 and that firefighters rushed in as well when they arrived on the scene. >> as soon as we had guys onscene, we had a ceiling fell on two firefighters, but were

not injured. >> reporter: officials say because of the building's wooden structure, the fire spread very quickly. they initially had some problems getting water on the flames and right now, the cause of the fire is under investigation. we're live in new jersey, cbs 2 news. >> thank you. another apartment fire in queens that broke out this morning in forest hills. the super says two people were hurt when a refrigerator exploded on the sixth floor. fire officials say the flames were contained to one apartment and the fire was brought under control quickly. okay. water damage is the primary concern. first responders are rallying on capitol hill this noon. they want congress to extend the zadroga act. this morning, about 50 fdny firefighters boarded a bus at the fire academy. the federally funded program provides medical screenings and treatment for people exposed to substances at ground zero following the 9/11 attacks.

sheen ended days of rumors by telling nbc's matt lauer that he is hiv positive. >> i thought i had a brain tumor. after a battery of test, they walked in the room and said, boom. >> reporter: sheen whose 50 says he was diagnosed four years ago, about the same time he was fired as the lead actor of the cbs sitcom "two-and-a- half men" for his erratic behavior. >> it's my life. winning. >> reporter: sheen has a history of substance abuse and bad behavior, including highly publicized liaisons with prostitutes. he's been married three times and has five children. he says he told his ex-wives about the diagnose us and has been on medications which have made his viral load undetectable. >> have you had unprotected sex on any occasions since your diagnosis? >> yes. but the two people that i did that with were under the care

a powerful storm systemmer to through the midwest. as many as 38 tornadoes have been reported across four states according to the national weather service. 11 tornadoes were reported in kansas and another 7 hit texas. at least 47,000 residents are without power. the powerful system is fueling winter storm warnings in colorado. wind gusts were clocked at nearly 60 miles per hour in the denver area this morning. parts of colorado could see up to 18 inches of snow. >> we're not even going to mention that word here but we showed you the pictures so i guess we have to. time for the forecast from john elliott. john, i know we mentioned that the system was headed this way. doesn't necessarily mean snow. >> no, it doesn't. it's going to modify and it's going to warm. it's rain for us on thursday. and snow, the potential is there next week.

than it was this time yesterday. can you believe it? no, i can't believe that. numbers below normal which is unusual for november. the bulk of november has been above normal. 53 the normal. i don't thinwe hit it today. sunsets at 4:36. what's going on? radar and satellite, high pressure in control. and that back door cold front snuck in. and here's what's sneaking our way. there's a lot to take in here, the red box, risk of tornadoes for arkansas and louisiana and texas. and snow continues. it's slowly pushing out of the denver area. what's all of this mean for us? tuesday is fine, just breezy and cold. and then wednesday increasing clouds, the hint of light rain or drizzle in the afternoon. and it's thursday. that's the busy day. starts with fog. showers and then by the afternoon, whoa, that's more of a soaking rain. we need it. but remember, it's busier thursday into friday. and in poor drainage area, we could see a little bit of flooding.
