abdeslam expanded. authorities say it's unclear if he's in france or belgium. tina tina kraus begins our coverage. >> reporter: that's right. as salah abdeslam remains at large, we're learn mrg about how french authorities were able to track down the master mind. he was caught on a security subway camera not long after the attack. possibly within an hour after the attacks. french detectives found a discarded cell phone in a trash bin near the bataclan theater. that led them to the apartment where abaaoud where he and his cousin, the french suicide bomber were hold up. police are focused on hunting down suspected terrorist salah

on thursday, french authorities confirmed the apparent ring leader, abdellhamid abaaoud. a woman said she saw him social yiz yizing on the streets. >> my sister said, isn't that the guy? we just said hello to him the other day. >> reporter: french officials thought abaaoud was in syria. until they received a tip that he was back if france. as the hunt for the terrorists continues, isis released new videos threatening attacks in france, italy, and the u.s. the fbi says it's not aware of any credible threat of a paris-style attack. >> we're acting aggressively to diffuse threats as they emerge opinion. >> reporter: in malaysia, president obama arrived overnight.

thursday warning at least ten suicide bombers affiliated with abu sayef are in kuala lumpur. more than 100,000 police and troops are on guard across fans against another attack. and u.s. officials are warning americans this morning that terrorists could be planning further attacks in italy and the cities of rome and milan. anne-marie? >> thank you, tina kraus. in mali this morning, gunmen attacked a hotel. the attackers stormed the hotel in mali's capital. there was some gunfire. authorities are securing the area. in this country, a bill that would block syrian and iraqi refugees from entering the u.s.
