the feds arrested a 25-year-old man who planned to kill people in the name of ice isis. he appeared in court today directed by isis and planned to fly over seas to join the terror group. they've arrested a 10th person in connection with last month's terrorist attacks. cbs 2 elizabeth palmer has the story. >> workers had no sooner built the stage for the traditional fireworks display than it was taken down again. the expects crowd of tens of thousands was judged too big of a risk after the arrest on tuesday of two men suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the new years eve celebrations and this morning there was news of another arrest in the brussels suburb this one linked to the paris terror attacks in

the official fireworks display which starts at midnight here in the center of town. elizabeth palmer cbs news london. >> back here at home police are investigating two bizarre incidents at a queens strip club. a cocktail was thrown at the window of city scapes gentleman's club around 5:30 this morning. you can see what appears to be a charred gas can this morning. this was the same club that anthony visited before he was shot in the knee yesterday morning. police are trying to find out what a man was doing when he took a deadly fall from a hotel. ilana has more information. >> diane police are investigating exactly what happened here. a 20-year-old was scaling this building trying to take a

the nypd rushed to the hotel at 11: 15 last night after getting a 911 call about a gruesome fall. >> i came and i heard there was a bit of a commotion. >> when officers arrive they found 20-year-old connor cummings unconscious and unresponsive on an upper level roof top. his 18-year-old friend was with him when he plumated to his death. >> i'm very sorry to hear about that. that's terrible. >> the two were not staying at the hotel and had camera equipment with them. he lost his balance while scaling the scaffolding. he may have been attempting to take a photo of the skyline. >> it's sad to hear that someone fell off the building. >> you get these characters that don't recognize their limits and expectations. this is not the first time someone has tried to climb a building in new york or

>> the safety and security of our guests is a top priority. our thoughts are with the family and we extend our deepest sympathies to them. >> we spoke with one of the victim's relatives on the phone this afternoon. she tells us-- >> and we apologize. it seems we lost her signal. in the meantime a wake will be held today for a new york service member killed in afghanistan. staff sergeant louis bo na cofsa was one of six americans bombing. he with on his fourth military tour and was planning to retire finishing his deployment. he leaves behind a wife and daughter. his funeral is saturday on long much more coming up including the mother of the teen back on u.s. soil after what's next.

it's a soaked and so many bare new years eve in parts of the midwest where hundreds have been forced out of their homes because of flooding. the good news is the dams appear to be holding. >> rivers are rising to record levels in the midwest washing away homes drowning bridges and forcing daring rescues. the rivers rose to higher levels than they've ever seen shutting down interstate 55 south of st. louis and other major highways bringing travel to less than a crawl. >> there's nowhere you can go. it's water but if there's anything. >> the river has crested at a record level in some sections but the good news is levys seem to be holding. towns like arnold have been under siege.

his defense blamed his bad behavior on his up bringing. bill cosby was in a pennsylvania courtroom yesterday for his arraignment of felony sexual assault. he gave his accuser andrea constant wine and pills and when she was incapacity tated he assaulted her. he admitted he gave pills to women he wanted to have sex with but denied doing so without their consent and she never told him to stop. >> there's nothing in that deposition where he says he does it. he denies it specifically with respect to this incident. >> he is free on $1 million bail. 20 people were hurt headed

first thing head on east to long island 48 degrees says mr. beal reporting mostly sunny skies in river head but closer to the city that's certainly not the case. 50 degrees a la i na with cloudy skies. overall a day with clouds and sun and temperatures hovering still above normal. what a pretty live picture out there. 47 degrees northwest winds at 9 miles per hour being reported in central park. as we look at your ring in records the warmest 58 degrees in 1972, the coldest one degree in 1917 but it felt the worst in 1988 when it was 21 degrees below with the wind chill. your forecast 40 degrees feeling like 34 under partly cloudy skies. pristine conditions in comparison to the 21-degree below chill.
