it's the home where she also operated a preschool and several parents of her students have been showing up here today, many of them leaving in tears. the body was found in the home and it is her. police are awaiting confirmation from the medical examiner's office. after three days missing, crews removed a woman's body from andrea caruth's home this morning. >> it's hard to believe just across the street from me. >> investigators back at her home in the bronx where sources say her boyfriend saw her sunday morning. he claims she went downstairs to get dressed and never returned. the break in the case happened around 3:00 this morning when sources say investigators

blowing in an attempt to dry wet spots. the body was found face down underneath plywood. >> i was shocked. that's the first place the cops should have looked in the house. >> she ran a preschool and was adored by her students. >> that was a very, very good school. a lot of kids go there and the parents like her a lot. >> they can't understand why anyone would want to take the life of this woman considered a second mom to her students. a woman just four months shy of becoming a mother herself. >> just one of those cases. her soul rest in peace. >> reporter: police very questioning the father and the boyfriend who sources tell us has a wife and children in brooklyn. at this point we're told by some of the friends that they are planning a vigil later

reporting live in the bronx, janelle burrell, cbs 2 news. a woman in manhattan on her way to work was slashed as police search for a suspect. some who live and work in the area were not surprised by the attack. >> reporter: you can see the 23rd street. the man slashed a woman in the face around 5:50 this morning diner. there. bleeding. >> he just started his shift when a woman ran in asking for help period of time. job. and a person came from out of nowhere. >> the attacker immediately ran

he was surprised to hear about something like this in the neighborhood. >> two-years and first time i hear crime here. this is very sad. >> reporter: two employees disagree. >> i'm not that surprised. there are some seedy people around the area, so whether they're drunk at 9:00 in the morning, something is bound to happen. >> this street in particular is a little worse than other ones. i'm not exactly sure why that is. but something about 23rd street be the safest. and i mean, i don't particularly like walking by myself, but i would never think something like that would happen. to think i could be slashed is not great. >> the victim received stitches to the left side of her face and her lip. police describe the attacker as

in terms of height, 5'7" to 5'10". and a red jacket, a green hoody, white adidas sweat pants and sneakers, and possibly homeless. >> police are searching for man behind an assault at a -- a surveillance video caught the scene last month. and investigators say the suspect bumped into a 61-year- old man and they argued. the victim was thrown to the floor and punched and kicked. the attacker ran off and the victim refused medical attention. did north korea conduct a hydrogen bomb test. we have the latest from the united nations where leaders are holding an emergency session. >> reporter: north korea made the announcement on state tv, claiming the first ever test of a miniaturized hydrogen bomb was a perfect success.

island over the weekend. it ignited while a 14-year-old boy was trying it out in his bedroom which is now heavily damaged. no one was injured. the consumer products safety commission says there are 28 open investigations into hover boards in 19 states. there are no manufacturer recalls. users should never charge the devices while they are away or sleeping. a huge power ball jackpot is up for grabs. the drawing is worth at least $450 million. and many people are lining up to buy tickets for a chance at striking it super rich. >> hopefully, the winner. >> here comes the latest jackpot. ticket? >> reporter: for a $2 investment you can strike it rich with the winning combination. >> i'm going to move to florida. >> the jackpot grew to $450 million after saturday's drawing came and went without a winner. it's pretty simple.
