i promise. there. a flood advisory for much of new york and new jersey. we are seeing moderate coastal flooding out there. here we go. most of new jersey and portions of new york flood advisory some spots more than two inches of rain has fallen. be cautious on the roadways. ponding and localized flooding is happening out there. as far as the coast lines coastal flooding is happening. reports of moderate flooding in new jersey along nasa county the south shore there coastal flooding in effect until 10:15. as far as winds today they will also be an issue gusting 35 to 40 miles per hour in some instances gusts could be as high as 50 miles per hour. on top of all of that of course it is still raining out there and that will be the trend until roughly noon maybe a little bit sooner steady rain

time in october. he tells penn i supply more aaron, meth--heroin, meth, cocaine and marijuana than anyone else in the world. the nearly seven hour conversation came after el chappo's escape from a maximum security prison in mexico his second escape. after the initial meeting the two spoke again over the phone and through video messages. rolling stone posted some of that video on line. [speaking spanish] >> penn asked about the escape questioning if he wanted his freedom at any cost. el chappo responded i never thought of hurting anyone. all i did was ask god and things worked out. everything was perfect. i am here thank god. el chappo was captured again on friday after the mexican military tracked him down to this house. a gun battle followed but he was not hurt. only hauled off to the same prison where he escaped.

including his childhood, how he got involved in selling drugs. when asked about previous drug bosses dying for their job he said i know one day i will die. i hope it's of natural causes. >> the meeting between guzman and penn was brokered by kate del castilo. an nypd officer remains in the hospital recovering after he was shot in the ankle after a huge fight in the bronx. surveillance video shows people running away after the shooting started at 2:00 a.m. in motte haven. the violence started on the third floor of what police are saying was an illegal nightclub called the sanctuary. sherrod stewart fired at his shooter four times. a man claims the party was legal but got out of control. >> there was a group of guys that came from the development across the street that tried to get into the party. they couldn't get in and the situation spilled outside. >> at least five people were

several weapons at the scene. the man accused of shooting officer stewart is listed in serious condition at lincoln hospital. police are hoping a new video leads to the new arrest of five women in brooke--the men can be seen inside just before the attack. the woman and her father were walking in osborne park thursday night when one of the men put a gun to the father's head and told him to leave. the five men took turns assaulting her. the men took off when the father returned a short time later with two officers. >> a former new york city firefighter was honored to extend health benefits for 9/11 responders. ray fifer received a key to the city from the mayor. he was at ground zero for eight months after 9/11. six years later he was

we have new information in the shooting of a philadelphia police officer. the suspect has been arraigned on attempted murder charges. a judge denied bail after he fired 13 shots at officer jesse hart net after he sat in his marked police car. he was hurt but is expected to survive. he was following ala and pledged allegiance to isis. hillary clinton is facing controversy over her e-mails when she was secretary of state. it was revealed the presidential candidate asked an advisor to go around a secure fact system to transmit a set of talking points on an unspecified subject. a state department official says clinton never received a paper by non secure facts. republicans and on thes have been challenging her for months over use of a private e-mail

>> and what do you make of this issue with trump having the muslim woman kicked out of the rally. do you think he'll receive blow back from the fans. >> i was at that rally. his fans, no. i think both because we've seen this previously with trump the kinds of things he might get blow back if this were a different president or year but it will not hurt him with his fans. i was at the event there was nobody there who was worried about this. there were a series of protestors and they were ejected both by security but also by the roar of the crowd. so i don't think that it will do much to slow the trump campaign at all with the people who were supporting him. >> just standing up silently we heard right? >> she was standing up silently. there had been a protestor who had been violently removed about 30 seconds earlier. and so there was a context in

are what are creating issues at the coast. consistently and powerfully out of the east pushing water on shore and coastal flooding happening right now. moderate flooding for some, minor flooding for more. soggy start. weather headlines and record warmth for today. we are talking temperatures around the 60-degree mark. then tomorrow a big drop off and it will be winter again. so far with all of the rain that's been falling overnight through this morning we've gotten just about one and a half in bell mar as well as trenton in the city. one and a quarter inches of the lesser totals to the east and well north of the city. weather watchers have been reporting over two inches of rain and we do have flood advisories in effect for many this morning as a result of the pouring rain. note how heavy it's falling on the south long island.

then a bit of a break behind the steady rain. active noon hour showers moving on through and through this evening we'll see the back end of it. low pressure system lifting off in the northerly direction pretty quickly. the winds are powerful because the system is strong and as it moves out tonight the winds stay powerful but they'll be cranking in colder air from the northwest. big area of high pressure builds in overnight through the day tomorrow. temperatures dropping by 20 plus degrees. so brace yourself for that. you might not be prepared mentally to feel the difference between today and tomorrow. it will be significant. hour by hour into the forecast. steady rain in the mix until roughly noon. after that we'll start to see spotty shower activities that trend continues until the evening hours. overnight skies in the clear cold air dives in. tomorrow 20 plus degrees colder than it will be today. highs in the 30s will feel like the 20s because of biting west

as we look towards tuesday this is tuesday night a clipper system diving in passing snow showers possible. we are going to see some of us getting a dusting overnight tuesday into wednesday and another shot of cold air follows. for today it is not cold. did is so warm. in fact record warmth anticipated 60 degrees very wet and windy gusts 35 to 45 miles per hour and gusts as highs 50. overnight we'll see some early rain drops and partial clearing, windy. 32 feels like the teens and 20s for us. tomorrow is sunny and breezy. 36 feeling like the 20s winds busting probably as high as 30 miles per hour. tuesday it's 40 and overnight tuesday into wednesday a dusting of snow and many happy faces because of that. then wednesday a high of 32 and clearing skies. after that it is a dry stretch with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s close to 40 and that's where we should be. >> not around 60?

good morning it is coming up on 8:30 on sunday january 10. i'm andrea grymes. >> i'm diane macedo. today's top stories are straight ahead but first vanessa murdock has a look at the forecast and keeping you busy. >> it is a busy morning. we are getting more and more pictures. it is causing problems. please be cautious out there and note that it is only through this morning high tide stretch that we anticipate coastal flooding being a problem. the winds will switch and that will help out problems along the coastline. let's take a look at the advisory boards. coastal flood warning in effect for the south shore. along the entirety of the south more of long island be cautious and the jersey shore moderate flooding being reported there. i've been getting photos and it is looking unpleasant. a look at other issues not only is water being pushed on shore but falling very heavily and

have flood advisories in effect for much of new jersey into the hudson valley. some have received two inches of rain. top on that the wind. winds are part of the problem along the coast gusting as high as 50 miles per hour today. rain continues to fall steadily until noon then it starts to shower through the afternoon. temperatures all the while will be warming up. nearly 60 in toms river, 53 in great neck and that would mean record warmth for the region. coming up in my full forecast big changes in the weather pattern and a lot of cold air making it's way in for snow. back to you. >> vanessa thank you. we have big plans for the innings but no jack pot winners. >> that's why we are here today. anyway the jack pot is $1.3 billion.

in some spots we have received over an inch of rain. that is not direct. lebanon new jersey up to three inches and this is probably closer to a half an inch. the wet weather hasn't reached quite that far but maybe by now they are tacking on the numbers. seeing the higher totals in new jersey today, central new jersey especially so one and a half to two inches of rain. lesser totals well north well east of the city. a quarter of an inch. still more rain to come until roughly noon today. we are going to see steady rain and then after that showers will be in the mix until this evening. so we've got a long way to go. it will be a wet end to your weekend. windy too. winds and rain 49 at central park. southeast winds at 17. winds gusting 35 to 40 miles per hour today. in extreme cases gusts up to 50. in addition to soggy and windy

record warmth. a high of 60 today in the region tomorrow temperatures will only be in the 30s and fields like the 20s. so enjoy it while it lasts. record high for today forecasting a 60-degree top off and back in 1876 the record was set at 60 so we tie a record. the temperature trend yesterday the high was 47 roughly ten degrees above the normal. today 60. tomorrow a high of 36 much more like where we should be and then on tuesday a high of 40. it's late tuesday into early wednesday we anticipate a little bit of snow moving on through. today we are concerned with the rain causing problems out there. isolated flooding on the roadways close to the coast because of persistent strong easterly winds and coastal flooding this morning a upon the through this morning's high tide cycle. as you look at the radar note

the north steady heavy rain through the morning hours. after that we start to see things taper off but we are not going to completely dry out until the overnight hours so afternoon hours. all of this associated with an area of low pressure lifting off in the northeasterly direction. as it does so it will take the warm air with it. cold air diving in behind the system. tomorrow in the 30s feeling like the 20s and we do have a clipper system moving through that brings in a little more snow. for today soggy windy very mild start for us. overnight that front moves on through. winter returns. old man winter will be blowing fierce winds and a high in the 30s will feel like the 20s. winds tomorrow gusting about 30 miles per hour. tuesday starting the day off with sunshine breezy and feeling like the 30s. then into the evening hours the system moves in and many much us will see a little bit of snow falling.

there asking about western omlets. >> how do you put it together. >> i like peppers, onions. use your pan and then add a little protein. it's always important for breakfast. use turkey or ham and that's it. the great thing is make them in advance and pop them in the microwave. >> i need to start doing this. >> it's all about planning when you are trying to eat healthy so you have to have the food ready so you are not grabbing the bad stuff. >> you can freeze them and reheat them so it's an advance meal. >> put everything in it and stick it in a muffin tin and in the oven. >> yes at 350. >> no flour or anything in these pancakes. i like to add blueberries and what i have going on here is basically use two eggs, a banana or two ripe and squished

add oatmeal and cinnamon. flooding a tea spoon and a dash of salt. throw them in the blender, blend them all up and then make pancakes. so i always say you could just use it straight from the blender. >> that's a good tip. >> they come out just like that. add blueberries on top if you like different fruit. you don't have to add the syrup. because they are so sweet allying confectioner sugar. >> a little blueberries. i like that. >> i use a very similar mix for oatmeal. pancakes came out flat. baking powder now i know. >> let it sit for a while too. them. >> they are really good. >> really tasty.
