remembering antonin scalia. members pay tribute at the johnson. >> i'm mary calvi. an intense search for three slashings in the city. upper west side. we spoke to one of the victims. >> yes. like you said. dead. bobby barbo grateful to have survived, but uncomfortable showing his face on camera. talking to us through the doors of his bronx apartment where he is recovering after the attacks against him. police still hunting for this teenager accused of slashing barbo in the face at silver springs restaurant where he was night. the teen was harassing diners going table to table claiming to collect donations for a basketball team when barbo confronted him.

>> i told him to leave and he didn't want to leave. he said he's coming back. >> reporter: the teen came back minutes later this time with a his cheek, leaving a deep wound. this morning the nypd released these new images of the three other teens they believe was with the attacker who they want to question. the hunt for that group is happening as police search for this man who they say attacked a 33-year-old man near columbus avenue on west 88th street on thursday. the man accused of stabbing the victim in the back before running away with his kindle and headphones around 5:00 p.m. >> i hope that they find them and arrest them. what they have to do to catch them and i hope they do. >> reporter: he is getting rest until his doctor's appointment next week as he plans to go back to work as soon as the doctor says that he is ready.

>> we're learning more about the slashing yesterday clothing store. it was not a random attack and the random and the slasher knew each other. the 21-year-old slashed had a attacker. originally believed that the victim was cut because he cut in line at the store. new at noon. >> the family of the little girl waiting for a convicted killer to be sentenced several years after a hit and run. andrea grimes live outside the courthouse with more this afternoon. andrea? >> reporter: well chris and mary the judge just sentenced franklin reyes jr. three to nine years in prison because of time served. he's eligible to go up for parole, before the parole board i should say in august of next year. he did show remorse after the little girl's mother spoke and

>> if there's someone that you would give your life for, then you know what i had. >> reporter: she told the courtroom that she knew her young daughter ariel was going to make a difference in this world, but never got the chance. she spoke this morning at the sentencing for her little girl's killer franklin reyes jr. >> that they will never be healed. i'm deeply sorry for the pain and suffering that i have caused. reyes jr. hit them on west 97th street in amsterdam avenue. he had been driving without a license and sped away from a traffic stop leaving police on a chase. the little girl was killed and her grandmother seriously injured.

manslaughter with a deal last march after what some described as a wild 24 hours of court appearances. he initially rejected the deal. but the judge told him to reconsider. in the end it took a total of three appearances for him to agree and admit guilt. the deal included reye jr. to pleading guilty. ariel's grandmother spoke out in court saying she is a princess, a smart girl, with captivating eyes. as for herself, the grandmother is disabled and wishes that she had been the one who died instead of ariel. reporting live in lower news. breaking news, we learned about the death of a literary giant.

>> we came out this morning to visit. >> reporter: scalia's casket arrived for the final visit following close behind where his children and former law pallbearers. once inside the current members of the court joined the family in a short service. the father paul scalia. the holy spirit. >> reporter: after the ceremony, the public was allowed in to view the body. she was the first person in line that the high school jr. from north carolina says that she respected scalia. >> he's definitely someone that will stand up for what they believe in and sticks with what he thinks will be right for our country. >> reporter: the president and mrs. obama are expected to arrive to court some time today to pay their final respects, but they will not be attending tomorrow that the white house was sending vice president biden to represent the administration saying that he had a personal relationship with the scalias.

the national transportation safety board is expected to arrive in hawaii to investigate a tourist helicopter crash near pearl harbor. >> witnesses captured the event on video and jumped in the water to help. hovering in the air shortly before plunging in to the water just feet from the shoreline almost immediately the chopper overturns. >> it crashed right in front of us. >> reporter: he was taking pictures when he switched to video and noticed that something was wrong with the aircraft. appearing to stall in the video. >> we all ran over. >> i dove through the pilot side on the backside and saw them and then saw what was twisted. >> reporter: the firefighters and nearby members of the navy would race to the scene.
