diane? >> reporter: we're actually here on the harbor right near where that plane came down. about two hours ago we started seeing not only u.s. coast guard but also suffolk county police boats as well as harbor patrol boats coming through this area as that search continues. >> eddie smith says he immediately ran to his friend's dock hen he heard the plane crash, but he didn't expect what happened next. >> he heard a gentleman's voice coming from the water screaming help, help. >> schmidt said he heard three victims were rescued. >> what did it look like. >> i mean, you couldn't see anything in the center of the harbor. i mean, there were several helicopters circling around, but it was pitch black out there.

coming from the center of the harbor. we ended up finding two kayaks this house. within about two minutes, two stairs. >> schmidt says the two officers took the kayaks and he didn't see them again. >> the mother said she's not >> i just want whoever can walk around to look for him to bring him back to me. >> officers on kayaks were able to rescue other men on board. instructor nelson gomez took

into the harbor harbor. >> survivors say when the plane did hit the water, that the missing victim actually pushed the three of them out of the wreckage to make sure they didn't go down with the wreckage. his girlfriend told us off camera that he was the only one of the four who knew how to swim. the other victims saw him swim to shore. they're still holding out hope that he'll somehow be found alive. live on long island. the former miss new jersey has died after she was critically injured in a car crash. they were at her side when she passed away this morning. cooper university hospital in camden. now, police say she was driving aloan last monday when her car spun off a car and hit a tree. she was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and she may have been driving too fast. >> she was crowned miss new jersey in 2013.

>> one of the crimes caught on surveillance video. >> we seen the car circle around the block twice. they jumped out. we didn't know who they was or what they wanted. that's when we seen the guy with the knife. >> one of the witnesses runs to safety. >> we saw a big knife and we took off. >> her friend in pink, not as lucky. one of the men slashes her era and the other stabs her in the stomach. it happened in the bronx. the suspects driving off in this black car, leaving her friend bleeding on the sidewalk. her foot broken after tripping when she tried to run away. >> she didn't know what happened. she heard people say, what's up? she turned around, saw the commotion, tried to run. >> it's one of several reported

police got report of another attack on east 173rd street. a 32-year-old man was slashed on the face. investigators have released this video severancing for the suspect, accused of slashing a man on a food cart line on valentine's day. since the beginning of this year, the nypd has record of more than 530 slashings or stabbings compared to just over year. >> holland avenue, the victim did not know their attackers at all. investigators are looking into whether it was a case of mistaken identity. >> i put my faith in the police and let them handle it. >> friends say that victim works in retail but is now home recovering from her injuries. they're hoping that new piece of video from police will be the key they need to find the people responsible. reporting from the williams

>> a 56-year-old man was run over by his own van after he fell. police say the vehicle was in his footing. it happened around 6:30 this 74th street. at this hour. police say ballistic tests show at least one bullet used in the shooting of two brooklyn suspect's car. it hit him in his bulletproof vest. another officer was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his hip. that bullet could have come from friendly fire. multiple officers fired at the suspect after he allegedly pointed a gun at police and then drove away. police are searching for a gunman who tried to rob a brooklyn gas station. the police department released these photos of the suspect. investigators say he pulled a gun at a bp station. he ran off empty handed when

she was there for 10 minutes before help arrived. she was treated at a local hospital for hypothermia. some manmade chemicals have been found in the water in petersburg. the city has been giving free bottled water to the residents. it's said the plastics company is most likely the source of that contamination. >> mayor de blasio is getting into the middle of a food fight. this video shows sanitation workers throwing away boxes of fruits and vegetables from a sidewalk produce stand. it happened near the williamburg bridge. the vendor was warned several times about blocking the sidewalk, but failed to fix the problem. legally the produce couldn't be donated because its origin was unknown. in cases like this, he does not want to see good food thrown out. and he's looking to change current laws. still ahead at noon, chilling new details in an

up. the uber driver accused of going on a deadly shooting spree is expected to be arraigned this afternoon kenneth craig reports from the county courthouse. >> 45-year-old jason dalton picked his victims at random. killing six people and seriously injuring two others. police say the uber driver began his shooting spree at an apartment complex in kalamazoo saturday night and killed a 17- year-old and his father at a car dealership and gunned down four women at a cracker barrel. surveillance video led to dalton's arrest. >> he's a former insurance adjuster and father of two. he's being arraigned on monday as investigators search for a

it's a possibility of some accumulating snow north and west because, you know, it's cold enough. warm surfaces will make it slushy on roadways and then turns to rain on tuesday. you get a bit of a break on wednesday morning. then get ready. wednesday, here comes the heavy rain wednesday morning into the night and even as late as thursday morning, you're looking at some rain. this is the most aggressive snow model, which would give maybe an inch or two of snow just to the west of the city and in the city we see some snow. it's slushy on the street. snow. now, as you look at the potential for future rain after it makes the change, i think rain. so, you've got tuesday to deal with the mixed precipitation. wednesday to deal with the potential for localized flooding. then with the full snow can see south shore concerns too. then the big push of warm air gets us up into the 50s by thursday.
