we're at 29 degrees for kingston. so it's definitely not warm out there. the warmest temps we can find are central park and woodmere. it's still pretty cold out there right now. however, this is where temperatures are going. up, up and up is basically it. so friday was 39 degrees. today -- excuse me. let's back track. today is sunday. so friday was 39 degrees. saturday was 41. sunday, today was 44 degrees. tomorrow will be into the 50s. tuesday will be in the 60s. wednesday, even warmer. now, the norm is 46 degrees. that's where we should be. we were pretty close today but we will blow that temperature away as we head into monday and warmer still. so we're clear and cold tonight. temperatures above normal on monday, 50s, even warmer on tuesday, 60s. record, probably 70-degree temps on radar. the satellite and radar looks like this.
11:39 pm
nothing to look at. very little cloud cover, no moisture. it is dry tonight. mostly clear skies out there. we are looking off to the west and the south, not for wet weather, but for warm weather. we're going to get an influx of that warm weather. temperatures really climb monday, tuesday and wednesday. we're talking 15-25 degrees above normal monday, tuesday and wednesday, with record warmth possible on wednesday itself. so what kind of records are we talking? here are the records for wednesday, right, anywhere from 60-75 degrees. islip, if everything plays out exactly as we're anticipating, you will tie a record on wednesday with 64. central park, you will set a record. current record of 69, forecast high, 70. same thing for connecticut, forecast high of 62, record of 62. so across the board we will definitely feel and look like screen. tonight's low temperatures, already we have plent of 20- degree temps out there.

11:46 pm
it's tough to have guys that don't have nearly your skill set try to do what you used to do. my thought is the john el way approach, the guy that has been an nfl hall of fame quarterback, won championships, going into the front office and then trying to build a team of his own, maybe an owner if he wanted to buy into the saints or the titans. >> sure, i mean, and that seems to be the trend for these great players these days. when they have the money and they have the prestige, you might as well go into the front office, obviously, like you said, john elway is a prime example of that. let's talk about the mets and sespidis. >> he's got the great cars. he's got horses and prized pigs. is the big $25 million deal going to his head? >> i think he wanted to come back here and took a discount to do it.
11:47 pm
attention and is like a five- year-old. he wants to be heard. he wants to be seen. so coming to new york where he knows he's a big deal where in other markets he wouldn't be that big of a story, he can get the attention of the tabloids every day. to be honest, if he's riding up in a lambeau, a pig and a horse in cincinnati spring training, nobody cares but when it's the mets, it's the back page of the tabloids every day. i think you just see a guy that loves the attention and that's okay. if you're a new yorker and he craves it and wants it, if it makes him a better player, more power to him. >> and getting free agency openings for these players, for someone like that, to dangle that possible carrot of becoming a free agent again after signing a big deal, does a short deal for him not only make sense for him but make sense for the mets as well? >> it makes huge sense. the mets don't want to pay a
11:48 pm
they'd rather go year to year. we'd all rather go year to year paying anybody. prove it to us again. this is such a team-friendly deal. it's enormous in that way and for cespedes, it creates motivation for him to be just as good as last year. there's a reason yoenis cespedes has been on so many teams in his short career, he wears out his welcome. to get him on short money and short term, it's a win for the mets. >> and the yankees will have the same situation with chapman. because he will be a free agent at the end of the year. if this one-year deal doesn't work out with chapman, do the yankees have another path of success rather than going with the dominating bullpen? >> the interesting thing is the yankees didn't need help in the bullpen to be the best bullpen already. i think what they saw is
11:49 pm
contracts and old money on this roster, texeira, a-rod, and beltran. they don't have the young guys yet. maybe to bridge the gap between today and tomorrow, let's win with a really strong bullpen. let's give up the resources to win that bullpen. that's what they were betting on this year. who knows if it works but the yankees are almost trying to be the mets here. that's the first time we've said that maybe in 20 years. that is, get some arms, and then you supplement that with older free agents. that's not the way to build with old free agents, is not the way to win in baseball anymore and the yankees are trying to flip the script as we speak. >> yeah, if you saw aaron judge hit the big home run yesterday, mateo as well, so the kids are coming. back to chapman though, the suspension was a 30-game suspepgz. how do you think major league baseball handled that? it was a touchy situation. how do you think they handled
11:50 pm
>> the baseball people, executives and commissioner handled it well in hindsight with what the nfl didn't do well. they had learned from the mistakes of the nfl by going too soft and wishy washy, not knowing what they were going to do with ray rice, greg hardy and adrian peterson. they just didn't know. baseball now knows. it's deal with it harshly. we need to deal with it in america and north american sports, it cannot be okay or tolerated, if he can run a baseball well or football well. i like how they handled it. >> we always love to talk about the nfl and tom brady and deflate-gate is in the news once again. the three judges are looking at it. and they were not easy to tom brady's counsel, and there is a possibility this could be overturned. he might have to serve a suspension. if that happens, does roger goodell finally get the last the courtroom? >> i think he does.
11:51 pm
the media want it to go away. the patriots wants it to go away but the nfl does not. the appeal, what we have is a four-game suspension, for now, the greatest quarterback in the league now that peyton manning has retired and i suppose you would say brady was anyway before manning retired. that would be a huge victory for goodell, who has taken a lot of mud in the eye in this fight. >> i guess we'll find out in a couple of months or couple of years. >> check back in 2017, maybe we'll have an appeal of an appeal of an appeal of an appeal. to the knicks. phil jackson. with derek fisher, re-signing carmelo anthony. you have to realize that was probably a mistake in 2014. should the focus of the
