we begin with an explosion in bayonne. >> we are not too far from the cruise terminal in bayonne, you can see first responders are still on the scene here, police say psc and g contractors were conducting a pressure test on the gas line that caused an explosion near goldsboro drive. it was installing a new gas main they tested it with air which is standard practice and that's when the explosion happened. natural gat was not flowing through the main at that time. police were on the scene directing traffic as the work was being done. their vehicle is completely covered with dirt. two workers suffered serious injuries, one minor, they were

medical center. the two officers also suffers minor injuries and transported to the hospital. megbaker, cbs 2 news. in brooklyn an intense fire raced through apartment buildings, we are live with the very latest. firefighters are keeping a close eye just a few molts ago still out here making sure they don't flair up. the damage out here is just incredible, debris is scattered across the sidewalk. these flames jumped from building to building you can see where they are charred on the top level this fire gutted apartments and businesses. cell phones shooting flames
