with those windchills where it will be a cold way to play today. we are high and dry, but that is also going to serve up the chilly conditions tonight. they extended it down the jersey shore tonight through tomorrow morning with some other changes that we'll talk about into your thursday with the return of wet weather. all right, thanks, john. the crane de's home opener was delayed due to weather. yes, let's try this again, yankee home opener take two. the fans have waited six months to see this.

police are searching for twosuspects. we have a live look. >> reporter: when i talked to commuters here this morning they say that they were not surprised by the latest slashing. approaching the station that increases the number of knife attacks this year when they were approached by the two men that stole his backpack. the suspect stayed on the train. it is the latest in the knife

the numbers are escalating. >> it is impossible to explain what they are saying. and to track the knife attacks in crime statistics -- in crime statistics. particularly on friday and saturday. about 20% all happen in the bronx. >> just the bronx in particular. and it is how it is out here. >> they added more police patrols, stepped up nypd presence overnight and cracked down on clubs establishments. >> it is going up in a level that will be a concern to us. overtime just like everything else, it will go down. >> and these types of crimes

another at an a-train station in lower manhattan as they have people looking over their shoulders. and that victim has been treated for cuts to his face and hand and he has been released from lincoln hospital. police are still searching for the two suspects in this case. live in mt haven section of the bronx. subway delays this morning at the morning rush. they packed trains in the r- train line after being hit by a train. the man trying to steal a 13- year-old's phone this morning when it pulled into the 64th street station in woodside and the man ran across the tracks, hit by the oncoming train. being treated for non-life threatening injuries. sickening charges against a new jersey man accused of video taping a teenage girl in the shower.

the 29-year-old video taped a 13-year-old girl who bathed in an adjacent apartment. he told officers that he is in the u.s. illegally. and being held on $50,000 bail. any information that police have made an arrest in a brutal hit and run in brooklyn. joshua colon faces robbery and grand larceny charges. he apparently went over in the confrontation with colon. >> something happened there where he tried to get back into the truck. he ended up under the truck. the perpetrator that stole the truck ran over him. three teens are facing charges after another gun scare this time at the robert f. east side.

girl with a loaded revolver yesterday. and police say that a 14-year- old boy had a box of ammunition. an update on the deadly amtrak train crash outside of philadelphia. it was going 106 miles per hour when it slammed into a backhoe sunday morning. that's 4 miles per hour below the limit. the engineer applied the brakes five seconds before impact. the backhoe operator and track supervisor were killed. more than 30 passengers were hurt. voters in wisconsin are heading to the polls to make their choice. candidates spent the last ten days preparing their rallies and speeches. hillary clinton all, but conceited wisconsin. among the republican side, ted cruz is ahead of donald trump by six points in the state. but trump says he feels confident.

it will be cold tomorrow morning then warms up a bit. then it will be quite warm on thursday with the numbers a degree or two above normal with a front and so that will actually leave a chance for the shower in that forecast and for the first few innings for the mets on friday. then conditions will improve. 49 for the first pitch as we work our way into the weekend again. >> i know. it is like we missed march. >> thank you. they can improve art functions that it can also be boosted by the exposure to sunlight.
