the speaker of the house says he won't run for president this year no matter what happens at the gop convention. this morning, candidates from both parties are battling to delegates. they suggest the races are tightening. hillary clinton and bernie sanders are tied among democratic voters and hena daniels has our report. >> reporter: speaker of the house paul ryan says count him out at the republican party has a contested convention this summer. >> i do not want, nor will i accept the nomination for our party. >> reporter: ryan has advice for the delegates. >> i believe that you should only choose from a person who is actually participated in the primary. >> reporter: donald trump is ahead in the delegate count but may not get enough to clench before july. mathematically ted cruz has a slim chance and john kasich has none.
