the world trade. >> donald trump's big slip up in the night before the primary. drug -- and dodging cameras, the man accused of bribing police in exchange for gun permits faces a judge. good evening. i'm maurice dubois. >> and i'm kristine johnson. valerie castro has more on the growing new york city scandal. she's live in lower manhattan with the latest. valerie? >> reporter: kristine, the fallout continues from the federal corruption probe into the nypd. now nine members of the police department have been named in the scandal. today one civilian faced federal charges as part of the ongoing investigation. alex lichtenstein left the federal courthouse looking for a light for his cigarette after bribery and corruption. bond. he's accused of paying out

gun permits without proper background checks. the licenses were allegedly sold for $18,000 apiece. to people who might not have gotten them otherwise. on a tape recorded conversation, lichtenstein reportedly bragged that he had used his nypd connections to obtain 150 permits. at $6000 apiece, it's believed he paid out $900,000 in bribes. on the recorded conversation, lichtenstein reportedly said, i want to repeat myself, i'm not bribing you. the officer's response? shaya, of course you're bribing me. let's be frank and honest here. no one answered the door at the lichtenstein family home in pomona in rockland county. neighbors say they saw several fbi agents there over the weekend when he was taken into the custody. the federal prosecutor said agents confiscated two comes from the home, lichtenstein had licenses for both. the criminal complaint indicates there are other people who could be involved

division and a commander who introduced that sergeant to lichtenstein. an officer in the division says for a six-month stretch in late 2015, lichtenstein was at the division twice a week and would often sit near the sergeant's desk. the nypd took immediate action. ahead of the firearms licensing division was transferred to an administrative post. two others were stripped of their guns and badges. a developing story, investigators trying to pinpoint the cause of a deadly fire tonight, in brooklyn. the flames erupted inside a three story house on fenimore street and prospect lefferts gardens. a woman who has not yet been identified was killed. the second person had minor injuries. so did several firefighters. at this point the fire does not appear to be suspicious. seven hours until voters in new presidential nominees. >> all five candidates from both parties spent at least

possible survivors. heavy equipment is being used, video shows the moment the 7.8 magnitude quake rocked the region yesterday. and tonight in jackson heights, queens, residents are worried about family and friends, packed a community meeting held by ecuador office consulate general. this dramatic rescue after working for hours firefighters finally reached three residents who were trapped beneath a collapsed holding. rescuers were pulling a man to safety. floodwaters are -- starting to recede in houston, but more rain is heading to the area after a powerful storm. today more than a foot of rain flooded many neighborhoods and several major highways. at least four deaths are blamed on the floods. officials say more than 1200 rescuers were needed across the area. a reporter took part in one of them. he was doing a live shot when a car with a driver inside of it floated by.

new tonight now, she worked hard for the money and she wasn't about to let it go easily. a brooklyn woman caught on camera chasing a thief four blocks before losing him. cbs2's lou young tells us it's the latest in a series of grab and run thefts in williamsburg. >> reporter: starting from scratch after another brazen tip jar theft. in the security video taken in williamsburg, the guy at the counter asks about a possible job, then to use the restroom. on his way out he grabs the jar of money, while the manager's back is turned. leah alvarez gives chase telling me, she never gave it a second thought. >> i don't know what i was thinking. i need that for car parts. young, cbs2 news. new york city health officials are taking steps to prevent the zika virus from spreading, this includes increasing testing on mosquitoes and people. and launching a public awareness campaign, officials say 40 people in the city and five boroughs are infected with zika, six of them are pregnant. zika virus is known to cause birth defects and even fetal deaths. new study revealing dangers in common over-the-counter medications, researchers from indiana university school of medicine say drugs with anti- cholinergic are linked to memory loss and cognitive problems. these include treatments for cold and flu, allergy, and heartburn. researchers say these mickens -- medicines can block the chemical involved in transmitting electrical impulses. the pulitzer prize for drama goes to the groundbreaking musical hamilton. and creator lin manuel miranda. the hip-hop musical details the life and death of alexander hamilton, a founding father and the first treasury secretary. hamilton has sold-out
