. it's 4:30, a cool and wet start to the day we begin with breaking news, reports of a slashing on a 6 train near grand central after 3:00 a.m., a man was slashed in the hand after a fight broke out. the victim was taken to bellview hospital. we are gathering information. a live report coming up. arrest of a man accused of attacking an elderly man in brooklyn. >> not his first time targeting vulnerable seniors. >> i hope he is done, i hope hi don't let him out again. >> reporter: 83 year old aaron is talking about clarence

walked out of the brooklyn robbery squad headquarters, accused in robberies targeting women in the bronx. >> he hit me in the face. >> reporter: she takes her chihuahuas out for walks and the suspect followed her in to her ocean parkway building after grocery shopping. he broke her nose and gave her two black eyesment police released videos of the suspects seen in a black jacket or hoodie since the crime spree started in january. monday morning came a tip jones was on 8th avenue. 20 minutes later he was busted >> reporter: the victims ranged from 71 to 91. the eldest this woman, attacked on her way in to her park slope apartment. her son is relieved because the

off of first avenue saturday night. the victim, david pazaro was stabbed in the chest. he tried driving to the hospital but crashed on 76th street and madison avenue. he remains in the hospital listed in stable condition. voters in connecticut among those in five states heading to the polls for primaries today. >> donald trump and hilary clinton are expected to do well. >> reporter: donald trump spent the eve of the contests rallying support in the critical state of pennsylvania. voters will cast a ballot and also choose the delegates who will pick who the pennsylvania delegation supports at the gop convention. >> you have to go out and get your beautiful delegate card and vote for your delegates. >> reporter: donald trump lashed out at cruz and kasich

president obama announced he is sending additional troops to syria. 250 troops will help in the war on isis. they will join the 50 u.s. troops in syria. president says they will provide training and assist local forces to drive isis out of key areas. >> one of things that's worked so far is us putting special forces in for training advising of local forces and intelligence gathering. >> he is still committed to finding a diplomatic solution to end syria's 5- year civil war. police in queens released a sketch of a suspect who touched a woman inappropriately on the subway. it happened march 22nd approaching the queen's plaza station 4:30 p.m., the man approached a 38-year-old woman, he placed his hand on her groin area above her clothing hx se believed to be in his 50s.

inside an elevator remains behind bars. he was arraigned on a felony charge of manslaughter, held on $50,000 cash bail. got in to a fight with a neighbor sunday inside the kings bridge apartment building. he placed felix rodriguez in a choke hold. >> he was a very generous spirit. i don't want to talk about it. >> the medical examiner will determine the cause of death. a cherry picker broke down and caused quite a commotion in lower manhattanment they were working on a building when the hydraulic system failed. there was minor damage. a stop work order was issued

police are downstairs now patrolling the areas the underground subway 6 platform. at 3:20 this morning, an armed attacker got in to an argument with a male victim. when the victim put his hands up in self defense, the attacker slashed him, using a knife that he pulled from a green backpack. now they say the victim was able to get off the train, he did alert police, the suspect stayed on the northbound 6 train and not sure where he went to. went to. police are saying they are searching for the suspect, but the victim is expected to be okay. he was slashed in the hand, this is non life threatening injuries. this is along a trend, i heard many people talking this morning on the subway platform about how they were grateful and thankful they missed this entire incident in a growing

city. a nasa county robbery spree, a man wanted for knife point hold ups struck again at a subway sandwich shop. he showed a knife and demanded cash. the same man hit a car vel shop on april 13th and wanted in 11 robberies since march 1st including half a dozen hold ups although dunkin doughnuts shops. the next round of storms is this afternoon. in the city, 51. cloudy, that's the report out of central park. we are catching a break prom the rain. not so on the east end, pushing in to river head, north shore to south shore. in to the hamptons, gusty winds, hail with the storms as well. earlier storms in burrgon county. knocking out power, 2000 without power.

the plain states are bracing for tornados and baseball sized hail. the storms dropped golf ball sized hail as it moved through san antonio. a tornado threat begins this afternoon and expected to last through the night. one school district in oklahoma has canceled classes for today. forecasters say the tornados could be on the ground for 30 minutes or longer. normally on the ground for no more than 15. a barge battle in jersey city, they want to anchor between the statute of liberty and ellis island. views will be lost and ferry traffic disrupted. >> reporter: upper new york bay is known for proximity to ellis and liberty islands and beauty. views are a major attraction, twhawn jersey city mayor says will be ruined if barges are allowed to more here. >> it would have a dramatic

outside of grand central with more. >> reporter: police say the victim was able to escape the armed attacker when the subway train he was riding on stopped underneath grand central terminal. police are looking for the suspect, they say this incident happened at 3:20 this morning when two men were riding on northbound 6 train. the men got in to an altercation and the suspect pulled out a knife from a green backpack he was wearing when the victim put his hands up in self defense, that's when police say the suspect slashed him across the hands. the victim was able to get off the train here, he did flag down medical attention, as for the suspect, police say he kept riding the train. earlier this morning, i was down on the platform as police were continuing to search around people who were getting on and off the 6 train were saying they were grateful that they did not get involved with the incident at all whatsoever, they were able to avoid the situation, they noticed the heightened security as well.
