department. now to a cbs 2 exclusive an elderly woman robbed at gunpoint inside her brooklyn home. 80 year old maria lugo says it happened thursday night on park avenue. three men including one with a gun pushed their way into the apartment after she returned from walking the family dog. >> they pushed me down and they says don't move, don't move. they says where's the money, where's the mo grandmother, their sister. why would you do something like that? >> the family says the men made off with her new flat screen tv, a video game console, and more than $300. no arrests have been made: the search is on for two robbers who broked into a brooklyn apartment. surveillance images of the suspects just released they got into an apartment at palmetto street and irving avenue last thursday. a 30 year old man inside was asleep.

with a screw driver and made off with about $250 in cash. police are also looking for the two men they say used a fraudulent account to buy two bicycles in brooklyn. investigators released these images of the suspects. it happened monday near meadow street and east williamsburg. police say the men paid the 37 year old victim for the bike using an app and then left. the app company later conducted the victim to say the account was a fake. now to the scandal. a former prostitute is now a potential witness. gabby greko was paid to entertain five men on board a private flight to las vegas in 2013. she claims she didn't know two of the men were new york city police officers. >> i just wanted to tell my side of the story and humanize myself so that i wasn't just labeled as an escort or something like that because i'm far from that. >> she's now a designer and actress. federal prosecutors say two

for official favors. a brutal day on wall street due to the brexit. britain voting to leave the european union. at the closing bell yesterday, the dow was down 611 points as biggest loss in nearly a year. bank stocks were hit hardest due to the fears over the global economy. nobody really knows how a british departure from the eu will play out. british prime minister david me resign, the leader of scotland now says that it's likely his people will want to vote again on independence from the uk. and far right parties in other countries are calling for referendums to leave the eu. britain's vote to leave is just the first step down a very long road. the exit is certain to take several years. >> one thing that people need to bear in mind is that we aren't flipping a switched to and all of a sudden the uk is out of the eu. this is a long process.

what a beautiful morning out there as we take a live look over central park, 9:11 and 72 degrees thanks for waking up with us at cbs 2 news saturday morning. new this morning investigators are looking for the cause of a fire in paterson, new jersey this broke out around 11:00 at a home on east 26th vote near 14th avenue. officials say nobody was living there. no injuries were reported. an investigation is also under way this morning in rockland county after a con ed su this happened last night in hillburn. smoke bill lowed into the air and could be seen for miles because of the risks of fighting the fire, hillburn officials decided to let it burn out itself. no injuries or power out ages have been reported. the death toll from flooding in west virginia climbs to at least 23. this incredible scene was captured on cell phone video. a house consumed by flames floating down a swollen river near the town of white sulfer springs, up to 10 inches of

hours destroying more than 100 homes. the national weather service is calling it a once in a thousand years event. two young boys are among the dead. a state emergency has been declared in 44 counties. the u.s. government has released a new report on the lead levels of children in flint, michigan. the cdc says blood led levels in flint children were significantly higher after the city switched its water source from the detroit water system to the flint river in 2014. the report says the a child underage six would have a concerning blood led level was about 50% higher after the switch. the city then switched sources again last fall and children can develop learning disabilities and behavior problems from led exposure. a troubling report has parents across the city worried about led contaminated water in city daycare centers. controller scott springer says city health department inspectors faked test results at dozens of centers. stringer says if the 119

two years, 70 were not actually tested. >> gambled on the health of our children when they falsified their records. >> we're taxpayers, we pay our money for this not to happen. so whose responsible for this? >> the city health department did admit to reporting issues claiming it had altered records to give daycares more time to submit lead tests. but since the audit says the health department has addressed water test reporting issues that dated back to 2012. all child care centers and for parents peace of mind we will soon post the status of each test online. drivers crossing the hudson river could see another toll hike in the next few years. financial companies studying the port authorities books say tolls could go up by $1 before the end of the decade. the port authority says there are no plans for a hike but tolls will rise to keep up with inflation. the toll for cars is now $15. and another new report

this runs the whole weekend. let's start with you tell us what we can expect? >> the harlem arts festival is sell egg operating its fifth year of the festival and there will be 43 performances on two stages and a gallery walk at kids corner. it's just going to be so amazing. >> that is amazing because when you talk about the 43 performances these are going on at the same time because you have three different venues. you have dancers, you all are visual artists, you have i saw a step group too, everything you can imagine is there. a chelsea and neil are doing such a great job producing this event this year. >> how did you become a part of this event? >> well i was introduced to it list year when i was tabling for the studio museum in harlem and unfortuntely, we had rainy weather that time so it was very hard to set up things but this year we have great weather some looking forward to seeing a lot of families and friends just come out and support and enjoy the day. >> i'm glad you bought that up

much about bring your whole family and it's free. >> and open to the public. >> the other thing is i think especially kids it's hard to expose them to all of the different type of art going on at one-time and that's what they are really getting at there today and tomorrow. >> absolutely. >> you describe yourself as a multi-disciplinary visual artist right? >> yes. >> let's talk about that and also we have video of you, you have a very interesting way of painting with your hair? >> yes actually i started as a theatre maker and moved maries the performance and visual art parts of my life. its been a really great moment for me. i guess i was inspired by my grand mother and she used to say your hair is your strength so i started painting with my hair that way. >> i seen what the painting looked like when it's finished. my question to you is when you're doing this do you have in your head pretty much exactly what it looks like or do you finish it and say wow that wasn't exactly what i wanted? >> i have a set of gestures i want to transcribe into the

moves and then it's like okay i'll put this here i know this gesture goes there and then at the end i have this composition that's complete. >> amazing. all right what can we expect from you today? >> oh, today we're going to have fun making art together. so being our educator for 16 years in that community, i find it important that families spend time together and it's great to spend time together and make stuff, so we'll be doing coloring pages, taking pictures. >> letk started you said about 2010 is went they first were talking about it and just three artists kind of came up with it and now its blown up. >> it has we have so many events they do gallery shows being a harlem arts festival audience has been a great opportunity because we really had a chance to share our art with the community and share stories with the community and really give people a platform to talk about the things that matter to them. >> i also like i know this is

further proof the plant is not a reliable energy resource and the same one was shutdown in march when cracked bolts were found. an 18 wheeler in the bike lane this video shows what many say is a persistent problem motor vehicles even trucks taking up space meant for cyclists. cbs 2 valerie castro has the story. >> reporter: the 18 wheels on this big rig are traveling down a two way bike lane in williamsburg, brooklyn on a one way street. this video was recorded by bicycle advocates say happens far too often. >> this is precisely the kind of driving that is killing and seriously injuring new yorker on a near daily basis. >> peter white with transportation alternatives says its almost become an accepted practice for drivers to use the bike lanes with two few consequences. >> if vision zero means anything, the mayor must crack down on this kind of wreckless driving. >> and every day cyclists say

>> it's really a problem. this is a busy street so when you're on a bike and you have to get out of the bike lane because of cars it's really dangerous. >> if motorists find they're stuck in traffic driving on the sidewalk or in a bike lane is not an acceptable alternative. >> this video taken along ninth avenue in manhattan shows driver weaving in and out of the bike lane to get around traffic but many drivers say cyclists can be just as wreckless. >> they don't do the space or sometimes they zig zag. >> i don't think they shou around here. they think they have the right away over everybody just last month not y pda knownsed a crack down on drivers who obstruct bike lanes and don't yield to cyclists, the d.o.t. plans to add another 15 miles of bike lynns to the city this year. residents of one new jersey neighborhood are at odds over holiday decorations. this is or there are no decorations up right now but this is a past example of some.
