police say the suspect seen in the video is running from the home while the woman who is the homeowner called 911. witnesses say they heard a gunshot, unsure exactly where it was coming from or what was happening in their normally quiet neighborhood. >> sot cops go in. so the cops go in and by this time they are there to see if they need to disable the man. >> reporter: police say that the suspect a career criminal with six prior arrests was spotted by the woman casing her home from a remote surveillance system. >> the unirm to see the female caller. who is also the resident of that apartment. met them outside their building. after gaining entry to the apartment, one officer encountered a male suspect in the rear room. a struggle ensued. which one shot was discarded discharged by the officer's service weapon. the suspect fled the building and chased on foot bit officers, apprehended about a block away in backyards. >> reporter: police say the woman was discovered three quarters of a block from where

unclear exactly how she was injured. now police say that 38-year-old suspect was shot in the groin in stable condition at elmhurst hospital. no officers were injured today in this afternoon shooting. we're live tonight from maspeth, queens tracee carrasco cbs2 news. >> thank you, tracee. cbs2 demanding answers tonight after ongoing problems at motor vehicle agencies in new jersey. in some cases drivers waiting online for hours to renew thr home empty handed. cbs2 kristine johnson with more on -- christine sloan with more that has tempers flaring. >> reporter: long lines wrapping around several motor vehicle agencies in new jersey including in lodi. customers forced to stand on sidewalks for hours in the heat after the wait some never making it inside where the lines are just as long. it's happening all the time say drivers like this woman who stood in this massive line last week caused by a computer

>> reporter: did you go in? >> no. >> reporter: on our quest for answers, more nightmare stories. this man on his third trip in a week to the agency takingoff work every time. >> i came back thursday around 4:00. they close at 5:30. the same thing. >> i came here saturday, but it wrapped around the building twice. >> reporter: i reached out to the motor vehicle police commission. a spokesperson declined an on- camera interview saying it is the beginning of the mont they're very busy inside. the reason for these long lines. despite what the commission tells us on the phone, drivers tell us that it is happening constantly and randomly, not at end of the month, but a critical time when they need to head back to high school and college, getting worse than the agency's prolonged attempt to update their 30-year-old computer system. >> i think it's a bunch of excuses seriously. >> reporter: they want a

three police officers set up a fake traffic stop in queens as a part of the man's marriage proposal. but the cbs2 alice gainer -- aly baumman has those police officers in hot water. >> reporter: a proposal that some are calling indecent that started like this at the residential corner of mobile road and reeds lane on w three uniformed police officers pull over hodie coriat and his girlfriend. you can hear friends of the pair commenting as they record on their phones. but the boyfriend, he was in on it. when the the officers started to search the car and on the part trunk, out come balloons, flowers, and one big question. >> will you marry me? >> are we going to get arrested to this? >> reporter: she says yes to them, but now nypd are

the state attorney general are also probing how high level people at city hall knew about proposal and they did nothing to stop it. they pointed out that the first deputy was getting the reports about the deal. stating that the department of city wide administration services were going to remove their deed restrictions, limiting the use of the nursing home. >> and he did not recall having read them. >> reporter: and under the deal, the developer would call the group headed by joel landow to buy that property million, paying them $16 million. three months later they were sold for $116 million. a $72 million profit. they did not interview the mayor before issuing the findings. the spokesman said the report proves that the mayor was unaware of the developments and
